The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Be sure to keep investigating the Mrs. Malloy's cheating husband." Derek Black says to his lead investigator, Molly Cranton, as he escorts her to her car in the dark night.
"I will, Derek." She says, opening up the passenger door to her car and putting a small case-file box in the seat. "Hey...Derek, can I ask you something?"
"Sure." Derek says, looking kind of annoyed.
"What do you think of this Archer guy? The media is making him out to be a bad guy. I'm not sure if I'm with them on it, though. He's saved several people's lives-"
"By killing their attackers. That's not the way to do things, Molly. Death is never the answer to anything. I should know." Derek says, steering her away from the topic of The Archer.
Molly sighs, looking down slightly. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Well I have to get going." She says, walking over to the driver's side of her car. She gets in and drives off.
Derek sighs, walking up the steps to his home and place of business. He locks the door behind him and heads up the stairs, turning off all the lights in the process. He reaches his bedroom and locks the door. He un-buttons his shirt and throws it in the corner and does the same with his pants. He walks over to his closet, opening the door and walking to the back of it. Removing a false back wall, he unlocks a black armorie. Minutes later Derek walks out of the closet, clad in his crime-fighting gear. He walks down to his garage in the back of his house and removes a tarp from a motercycle. He straps his bow onto his back and straddles the bike. Starting it up, he opens the garage and speeds off into the night.

Derek returns to his house as dawn is breaking, after spending the entire night out as The Archer. He parks the bike in the garage, and takes off his mask, holding it under his arm and walking upstairs. He gets to his closet, and returns all of his gear to the armorie. He goes to his bathroom and strips down from his boxers and white t-shirt. He turns on the hot water in the shower and steps under. He touches his side at a large bruise and winces at the pain a little bit. After a long relaxing shower, he shaves and cleans himself up a bit before getting dressed for the day and heading downstairs to open up his office.
The day after his attack at around noon Jordan walks into Derek's office. He takes a pen out of the holder on the desk and twirls it around between his fingers. The secretary had said that Derek was out getting lunch and would be back shortly.

Derek walks though the door with several bags from subway in his hands. "I hope Debbie didn't keep you waiting." He says, passing Jordan on the way to place the bags on Debbie the secretary's desk. "Please, come into my office." Derek says, pointing to a small room to the right.

"Yes, Derek Black." He says, shaking Jordan's hand and then sitting down behind his desk, taking out a legal pad and a pen. "Jordan Sable....how do I know that name?" Derek asks, looking up from the legal pad for a moment.

"Ah yes. Some of your products have...caught my attention. But let us save that for another time. Tell me, who or what would you like for me to investigate?" Derek asks, getting ready to write.
"A friend of mine recomended you, so i figured i might as well come down here. Yesterday morning, while i was eating breakfast, two men, armed with handguns and posing police, attacked me. I want you to find out who they were working for, and why he wants me dead," Jordan says.

"Ok well that makes things a little harder." Derek says, sighing slightly. "Well I'll start a file here, and get one of my investigators to work on it. I don't do any field work, mainly because of personal reasons, but I can assure you that we have the best here." Derek says, standing. "There wont be a starting fee, Mr. Sable, but for each week the bill will be of $250. I need you to fill out a form at the front desk saying you are aware of this. Tell me, do you have a body gaurd?" Derek asks as he leads Jordan back out into the main room.
"Before now i have never needed one. And ill just have to trust you on what the forum says," Replies Jordan, taking off his sunglasses to reveal his pupil-less eyes.

"Oh. Uh." Derek pauses a moment, staring at Jordan's eyes. "How about you come back tomorrow and I'll have a brail form ready for you? For certain legal reasons I'm more inclined to that. I will, however, need your address, phone number, your cell phone number, and any place where I can contact you at."
