The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike was only in Cerebro for about twenty minutes this time. When he came stumbling back into the war room, his eyes were bloodshot, as if he'd been straining himself too hard or crying (in truth, though the others couldn't know it, it was both). He fell onto the makeshift bed, making a mental note to send Elvis or someone else up into the wreck of the mansion to find more mattresses.
"God..." he said breathily. "They have everyone... Tricity, Emmy, Ruby... Deathstar... a lot of the students... God, they even have Millie there..." He called a bottle of water to him, drinking deeply. "Can't find everyone there, though... Some... not accounted for. Can't find Fade... Can't find Sarah or Johnny... know where Jamal is now, though..."

Daria, while Chip was gone, put Tristan down for a nap. She had her laptop with her and would have left had it not been for Mike's state.
"Whoa..." she approached his bedside, listening to his ramblings. She grabbed his hand. "It's going to be alright Mike, we'll get them all back." She blinked away a few tears. Whenever Mike was stressed she would feel it. "I'm headed to the danger room right now, to take a look at Mansion Security. Tricity and I never got around to it before but I'd been looking at our system and it could definitely use some upgrading. Once the mansion is secure again, you and I can go look for everyone. We'll get a team together...." she trailed off.
Mike managed a smile. There wasn't anything wrong with him, and Daria would be able to see that after a few minutes... He was just a bit worn out. "Babe, we are the team," he managed to chuckle. "We need new bodies, much as I hate to say that since it'll take longer. But... yeah, we'll manage it. Just wish I knew where everyone I didn't find was."
He picked up the PDA he'd gleaned from an undamaged War Room cabinet and put in a few more directions for Elvis when he got back: Find mattresses, search the ruins for anything else useable, especially the kitchen area, and a few other minor things that they needed. THen he lay back. "I'll be good again in a little bit. Paid Emmy a visit... they have Bloodfang there, had to beat him around a little for her."

Daria swallowed a hiss at the mention of bloodfang. when she saw the PDA she had an idea.
"Jamal and Ruby made a few labor robots after another attack. They helped build the mansion back last time. This is a little more than we can rebuild right now but as far as my security goes they could help me put up a fort or something."
Her tail swished a little as the realization settled in that Mike was alright. She kissed his forehead. "Emmy's alright, right?"
Mike sighed. "Yes and no." He squeezed her hand. "She's seventeen, and has had to take on more growing up than anyone should ever have to within two months. And Bloodfang's been... yeah, he's been Bloodfang. So she's been on the edge and going through his usual... treatment. I had to pour two pints of blood into her when I got there. He should be leaving her alone now, though," he finished with a slightly satisfied smile.

Daria's eyes filled with tears. But they were tears of anger. "I should've been there, Mike. I should've been here with our family!" Her fist tightened and her ears twitched. Mike could feel her anger.
"I..." she took a deep breath that was reminiscent of her burying feelings she should release. "I'm going to go handle things in the danger room and then I'm going to go find Emmy."
"Chip?" she said as she started to teleport. "Meet me there."
"You were being chased by giant freaking robots and idiots armed to the teeth who were trying to kill us. I think your preoccupation can be excused."
"You had it right the first time... we need a team. That place... they have guards everywhere, and robots like nothing we've seen before. So we need to plan this right."
"But as for Emmy, she'll be all right. Bloodfang's too scared to come anywhere near her now for fear that the boogeyman will come back out to visit him. She knows we love her and that we're coming for her. Next time I'll see if I can piggeyback your mind along with me to look in on her."

Chip had quickly tuned the older pair out once he realized Daria wasn't quite ready, instead began fiddling with a tiny computer chip he'd been working on, incidentally, when the Mansion was attacked. He leaned against the wall outside the room while the others spoke quietly, but quickly came to attention when Daria called.
"On my way!" He popped his head in with a grin, and gave the pair a thumb's up, then took off at another run.
"Janie, don't play with the hot plate. Find something else you can eat, we'll cook something when I wake up," Mike said, drowsily, then dozed off on the bed.
Some time a little later, Elvis came back and began hauling various things into the room. He had a couple mini-fridges, which he stocked with milk, juice, and other essentials that needed to be kept cold. He also brought more of the dry food that he'd stocked Mike with, and enough baby supplies to take care of Tristan for a week. He spotted the command PDA and set to work, making the War Room into something a little more livable for the seven refugees.
