The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Maybe you aren't as good as I thought you were," Lenna replied. "It doesn't take a huge leap of logic to take what I've said, and figure out I'm special. Proximity matters because when I get close to people, their powers don't like to work. Simple as that." It wasn't. He didn't have to know it wasn't.
"If you don't want to confess to anything, that's fine. Couldn't blame you. We all have our secrets. Some have bigger secrets than others. If you've actually got a habit of doing what it is I think you do (and judging by your last statement, that seems a given), I think my boss could have use of your talents. That is, if you want your talents to have uses other than causing people to want to end their lives. Like monetary gain, for starts."

The woman's answer wasn't exactly what he had hoped for, but at the same time worked. He assumed that more than likely it was a mutation, a very annoying one at that. Roger would need to find the limits of it later, area of effect and level of effect of something like that could prove to be vital to know if there were future encounters.
"What kind of use? And what level of monetary gains?" Roger knew that everything has a price, even himself. Besides, addition resources could be put to good use and if his actions here have convinced this woman that he would be good for the job then perhaps it could be practice for future targets.
>>"What kind of use? And what level of monetary gains?"
"Well now, that entirely depends on what you can, and are willing, to bring to the table. You haven't been clear to me what it is you can do... Intelligence? Combat-jockey? A master of sowing dissent? Or you simply a white collar criminal, making people look bad?"
"As for payout, you don't have to worry about it. You'll be taken care of." She didn't want to state numbers. In the end, that was up to the big blond cheese upstairs. He'd likely be working on commission. However much he could do for them, that's how much he'd be compensated for. Hopefully 'taken care of' would be information enough.

A matter of what he could bring to the table? Well he could bring many things depending on the task, and by the list of skills the woman listed of there was something heavy going to happen. "I am a social engineer, what many call a con artist. I manipulate people and situations to suit my aims. I can sow dissent, gather intelligence, or convince someone to give me something. Violence and combat on the other hand are not my style." He tone colored his opinion of violence, conveying his belief that it is lowly.
As for the payment, it was more general than he hoped. Yet, it was adequate enough. Being 'taken care of' was better than his current situation of changing location every week or so and relying on money he acquired by clever means. "So as the scout do you broker the deals on my behalf? Or do I get to handle that myself with whoever you recruit for?"
A con artist. That's what he was. A big fat liar who played people. And like any liar with a forked silver tongue, he didn't like getting into fights. His battlefield was the field of conversation. It was like a chess board, and people were his pawns. Lenna got it.
He could certainly be useful. The Order didn't have many non-fighters. They were more 'explode this', 'punch that through a wall'. It was surprising how low a level of intelligence gathering they could garner. There just weren't many good spy mutants.
"I think we can use you," She said seriously.
"You get to talk with my boss about paychecks. Would you like to meet her? Do you have the time?" Lenna glanced back towards the main street. Was the guy's life still being ruined? Did this man need to watch him like a hawk some more? Was she distracting him from his game? Hopefully, he saw this opportunity as more important. "We could hammer out the details with her right now."

She thought they could use him. That was fine but more important was what he could get from them. Money and other things were fine, but using it as away to gather resources and a place to stage greater aims was what he really wanted out of it.
"Yes, meeting her now is fine with me." He noticed the woman glancing back to the street and added, "I am done with him, the next time I see anything about him it should be in the newspaper. Suicide in the county jail, a tragic end following an unfortunate series of events." He said it dryly but with a hint of pride, it was his work after all. "Before we meet her though, might I inconvenience you for a name?" Roger asked, it generally was nice to know the name of those you were working with, for, and through.

"Tragic," Lenna said sarcatically. Charming, she thought. Really...
He seemed to enjoy ruining peoples lives a lot more than she enjoyed shooting people. Ah well. Everybody had their own vices.
"My name's Lenna," She said. "Now, follow me."
Turning, she led the way to the subways. They arrived at the Sanctuary a short while later. Lenna showed him in, had Lisa send for Lori, and left the man to the leader.
