The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"It's an amazing mutation, Raina... seriously. That was remarkable," Tricity said, patting the young woman on her shoulder. "I'd love to hear more about this tribe you belonged to some time. It sounds fascinating." She crossed her legs taking a deep breath. Her head was hurting a bit and if she didn't relax, no doubt the mansion's electricity would be going out of whack. "Do you have any questions or concerns regarding your stay here? You're always welcome to my office if you have a problem. Well, should really call it my bedroom with an office in it. I'm not sure if you know, but I just had a baby some few days ago, so I may be a bit busy with him. If I'm not available, you can see my colleague Daria. She's got a black cat appearance... Shouldn't be too hard to miss her," she said with a wink and smile. "So yea, any questions?"

Raina shook her head, "No thanks! I'm find!" she found Tricity facinating! The woman just had a baby and here she was still doing her job. "Thank-you for everything!" When Tricity left Raina stuck her head back out into the hall to see if Iris and Raptor were around.
Raphael sighed and ceased his knocking on Fade’s door. It was obvious she was not in at the moment. Not that he was really needing to see her, he merely wanted to have a friendly chat with someone he knew. His girlfriend was naturally the first person he chose to seek out. Not finding her he sighed, he knew lots of people here, but was friends with only a select few, he rolled his shoulders and figured he would share his thoughts with a training dummy in the danger room.
He turned away from Fade’s door as Raina stuck her head out into the hall. That was a face he did not know, and he had not been gone for all that long. New friends could serve just as well as old friends.
“Evening,” he called out as he walked towards her. “You look new. I’m Raphael Sevresch, and you’re?”

Raina blushed at being caught off guard and notice the man a few years younger than her introduce himself. She stepped outside her room and brushed her hair back with a bright smile. Finally! Someone else!
"Hullo!" she exclaimed "I'm Raina, just a regular 'ol newb here." she giggled and extended a hand. "I was looking for a few people i've met but they don't seem to be around!"
Wow she’s bubbly… Raphael thought as he took her extended hand and gave it a firm shake. “Nice to meet you Raina.”
He glanced passed her into her room, he still found it amazing just how quickly some people moved in. His own room in the ‘boys’ dorms was still empty. The only thing that marked it as his was his duffel bag in the closet. “People tend to disappear right quick around here sometimes. Tell me, what brings you here?”

Raine spun around and sat on her bed- she wasn't usually so outgoing, but the people here were bringing out the best in her. "I spose the same thing as everyone else" she said with a shrug "we've all got wacko powers we need to control." as soon as she said that she covered her mouth embaressed. "I'm sorry, I'm just a little overwhelmed today." she admitted. "How long have you been here?" she wasn't to qurestion him intently about his mutation- but she knew it would be rude. Having never really had any close contact with any mutants other than herself- she was incredibly curious and still a little nervous.
Jittery… Raphael corrected himself. He remained at the entry of her room, having not been invited in.
“Not everyone comes here for that,” he said with a small smile. He certainly had not come here to learn to control his mutation. He had complete control over that well before he arrived at the gates of the mansion. He watched her chatter with a question almost rolling out accidentally. “Nearly a full year now, seen lot since then. I take it you haven’t gained complete control of your mutation?”
He watched the nervous young woman and suddenly wondered if he looked this nervous and jittery when first arrived. He leaned up against the door frame and waited for her to answer.

ooc: wow so many typos earlier! sorry 'bout that!
ic: Raina shrugged. "Don't really know what to do with it is more like it." she laughed. "Sorry, this has been a weird day." she admitted. "I don't suppose you'd help a gal find the kitchen? Im really thirsty!" she looked up at him hopefully.
Raphael watched her, and put on a smile that was not entirely genuine. “Most people –” Raphael stressed the word people, “– consider their first day in a new home to be ‘weird’. You’re acting perfectly normal given the circumstances. And, to answer your question, I can show you to the kitchen. I know much of this place like the back of my hand by, and most definitely where the kitchen is.” Pleasant memories made for the among easiest of recalling… Of course, bad memories were also easy to bring to mind, and as such, he also could readily recall the male dormitory hallway, infirmary, and gardens.

((Continued from outside))
Raina burst into her bedroom painting- the room was spinning and her chest hurt. everything that had happened had completley overwhelmed her, but her sudden outburst of power had scared her the most. As she stood in the bedroom dripping she suddenly felt as if the walls were closing in and having a slite moment of paranoia- she shed her dripping clothes and found herself a long t-shirt to drape herself in.
She laid on her back on her bed and held her hands infront of her face. She winced just looking at them. She wouldn't be able to play any instruments for a while now. Her breathing was still fast and the tears that threatened to fall- finally did. She laid there shaking and crying.
"Pull yourself togeather" she told herself but couldn't take her own advice. Everything about the day was so overwhelming, and to her fault Raina was oversensative. She wore her heart on her sleeve- and accident or not such an act of agression from a fellow mutant (younger or not) terrified her. Her throat felt like fire and she knew she'd need a while before she could sing again.
She rolled over on her side and her eyes caught hold of the tritant on the floor. She reached down and picked it up putting it on her belt. She winced as she did so - knowing she would no longer leave her room without it.
She wondered who the girl was that hauled her out of the water, and what was happening with raph.
In due time Raphael appeared at Raina’s door once more. He was still soaked to the bone, and the only reason it had taken him this long to arrive was the fact he had avoided the more stainable surfaces of the mansion; rugs, carpets and the like. He was surprised not to find Deathstar here well before him, and wondered about the sincerity of her apology. The thought was a fleeting one as he reached up and knocked on Raina’s door.
Deathstar leaves her room with dry clothes on, slowly ties her her hair into a ponytail. she was very quiet about the ordeal that happened in the lake earlier But she felt it was time to talk to new girl, The walk was very short distance from her room approximately two doors down from her. She immediately notices Raph but doesn't say a word. *knock, knock* she waits patiently besides Raph, but her impatience seem to have taken over and she slowly opens the door to find the newbie on the bed with eyes full of tears. "ummm!!...hey!" she says awkwardly not knowing what to make out of the situation, she walks over to her and kneels down down on the floor beside her bed. "it was an accident!, I wasn't meaning to harm you!" she looks over to Raph and back to the new one. "So whats the name?, I'm Deathstar!".

Raina looked up hopefully at Raph and tried to look pleased to see Deathstar even though she had nearly caused her death- the girl was trying to set things right. Raina's hands lay in her lap and were a light blue with purple finger nails- she looked like a wounded animal. She opened her mouth to say something but no sound came out- she'd temporarily lost her voice from straining her ability.
Raina had a lot of power- but no means of concentrating it. Things like this happened when she pushed herself too far. Frustrated at being unable to speak he stood up quite shakily and grabbed the only dry towel she had and painfully tossed it with little accuracy to Raph.
She looked at them and shrugged as if to say- "These things happen" though she was shaken up.
Raphael watched Deathstar walk up to the door and knock, then impatiently barge into the room. He remained by the door though, frowning as he saw the weeping Raina. He had looked death in the eye more than once now and had found that the pain of regeneration was worse than the actual prospect of dying. Raina seemed to have thought differently.
Deathstar’s appearance did seem to help though, and Raina seemed to come out of it slightly, throwing a towel his way. He caught the poorly tossed towel and ruffled his hair with it, taking the gesture as a sign that it would be okay for him to enter her room. “Her name is Raina.”
He watched Raina give them the ‘these things happen’ look, and sighed. “Deathstar, you need to apologize to her. You did so to me on the shore, but… I was in such little danger as is.”
Raphael moved a couple more steps into the room and chose to explain things for Deathstar. “She mistook you and I for something we are not. Jumped to a conclusion that is not, and took a drastic measure to disrupt something she thought was building between us.”

Raina blushed and began to laugh a whisper of a laugh. If only Deathstar knew. She smiled at the girl trying to let her know it was o-k. If her hands hadn't hurt so much she would have written something.
Raina had to admire someone so fiercly loyal to her friend. Raina hadn't had much contact with other mutants and she imagined what it would be like to have someone as devoted to her as deathstar obviously was to Raph's girlfriend. It was interesting to find out that Raph was with someone- and she felt a little bad at taking his time away from her.
She let out a sigh and blew her red bangs out of her face. She realised her hands were hurting too much to ignore and she tried to speak again to ask them about the infirmary but it wasn't coming up. She got frusturated again and gave her guitar case a swift kick that sent it a few inches across the floor. Finally she crossed the gap to Raph and held out her hands for him to see feeling very much embaressed and very much like a child. She looked away with burning cheeks hoping her could take her somewhere to get them fixed up.
It was frustrating not being able to talk- but she knew if she stopped pushing herself her voice would come back very soon.
