The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura Decided to try something new with her parrot, which had proven to be less then cooperative with her. She had learned quickly the parrot was nothing like her skunk. Jewel had been right in that it certainly ate different food and it seemed to want little to do with her, but at least the smell of Solkat's spraying it had mostly gone away. Opening the Cage the parrot gingerly walked out of the cage and looked around curiously. Kneeling down Aura patted the bird on the head, which the bird shrieked at and tried to bite her in the finger, only grabbing a hold of her Aura as she did. Aura smiled thinking the bird was playing and made a playful swipe with her finger, the aura, cutting through a few flight feathers as she did.
The parrot decided it had enough and flew away though with it's newly trimmed feathers discovered it could not fly far. Aura ran after it trying to see where it would go not understanding the bird was simply flying away The bird soon landed ina tree and still playing the game, Aura climbed the tree, using her Aura to dig into the tree with her feet as she climbed with her hands. Reaching the top of the tree, Aura cralws out to the branch the bird was one, however the thin branch snapped andd the bird took flight leaving Aura to fall to the ground with only her Aura to keep her from being hurt.
Smiling Aura kept running after the bird, dropping her Aura as she did, but still making some people shout as she ran by bumping into them as she went. Ignoring the angry cres she saw the bird land next to a berry bush of some kind and Aura dove after the bird who once again took off secounds before aura would have grabbed her, making Aura slide into the bush, her hastily raised Aua crushing much of the middile of the bush. Standing she realized their had to be another way to win the game bt pursued the bird to keep in sight anyway glad it wa sstaying low, unaware this was more do to it's lack of flight fdeathers then it actually playing with her.
As she saw it decend again, she saw the bird suddenly head for a female she did not recall seeing before. Aura stopped unsure if the girl was a mutant or not and approached slowly, even as the bird began to shreik at the woman and seem to dance by her. "COme back bird, your suppose to be playing with me!" she shouted still unaware the bird was actually scared and attacking.

One would have thought that after finding a new home in a school full of mutants, a teenage witch wouldn't have to find comfort in wandering around a city that assults all senses with a flood of annoying noise, colors and smells. Well, one would have been wrong. Susan found that out not long after she moved into the Mansion. Being a mutant? That's genetics. Being a student? That's all right too. But sharing a living space (however big it might be) with dozens of children with freaky powers... Yes, that's annoying. So, Susan returned to the place where she used to find peace, and occasionally some adventure: Central Park. On a nice end-of-winter days like this one it was filled with people, but it still had some calm, quiet feeling about it even though not a corner of the park was actually calm, or quiet. The witch sat on a bench, idly shifting her senses around. when the parrot attacked. It came out of nowhere, which of course was a figure of speech, birds can't appear out of nowhere. Besides, somebody was definitely chasing this one. Susan could hear a voice in the distance, it rang out in a childish way, but it had an edge to it, an edge that could cut through feathers. It was strangely pink too. All that barely registered in Susan's mind as she tried to push the hysterical ball of feathers away from her face; claws were scratching at her hands with a sound of nails dragging over a blackboards. The voice of the parrot was painfully bright flashes of light, and everything smelled like... bird. The witch backhanded the parrot. The bird landed on the bench beside her, dizzy from the hit and ruffled beyond recognition, sturggling to flip around. It managed to get as far as raising its wings before it slid off the bench onto the grass. That stunned it further. Susan made a face, blowing stray locks of dark hair out of her face. And now comes the part when the whiny little girl starts crying over what I've done to her pet. Susan went on the offensive before she actually turned to look at the girl. "FYI, one: it attacked me. And two: you can't play with parrots. They are not smart enough for that. Got it?"
Aura watched as the parrot get backhanded and slid onto the ground, it looked dazed and a bit drunk from the blow. Still Aura paid it littile mind as the woman who had attacked the bird began to asail her vocally. Ignoring this at first Aura aleaned down by the bird but before she picke dit up the thing took wing again and this time Aura did not follow, simply figuring it would be back when it got hungry, not comprehending the bird had been hand fed since it was born. The bird should have really learned to pick a fight with opponents it could handle, Aura thought to herself. Then Aura looked at the woman, not seeming upset or angry int he least, in fact Aura reached back recalling the words the woman ahd said. "FYI?" she repeated not understanding the vocal shorthand.
"it did seem to respond less easily as my cat did, so maybe your right. A friend bought it for me but the only birds i know of well, or the ones you eat" she said omly now recalling her Aura was still up, she let the Aura go, as it turned invisable she simpy smiled. "I am thinking maybe i should stiuck with the skunk, she lsitens far better, but i forget myself, my name is Aura and you are?" she asked as if she never npoticed the anger in the womans voice. She ahd but interpreted it, to be more directed at the bird and becides the woman could be a mutant and so, making enamies could be bad.
Aura looked around the park had gotten quiter, without the bird, many people had gone to their cars and left quickly other had simply run when they saw the pink mutant crazily chaseing the bird. She was amazed the cops had not shown up, now they could be lot's of fun. Aura once more looked up trying to locate the bird whichc had flown well out of sight, she frowned a bit and shrugged simply thinking it would come abck when it was ready or done doing what it had to do, like solkat did.

"It did seem to respond less easily as my cat did, so maybe your right. A friend bought it for me but the only birds i know of well, or the ones you eat." Susan arched an eyebrow at the girl. She was definitely a mutant, strangely naive, and had a lot of pink about her. That strange aura for starters. Also her voice. But the voice was the shade of pink you only see on little girls in movies. Little girls that turn into monsters. She smelled pink too, and even the low buzz of the X-gene looked pink-ish. The witch wondered what that meant. "I am thinking maybe i should stiuck with the skunk, she lsitens far better, but i forget myself, my name is Aura and you are?" Susan's eyes returned to normal. "You have a skunk?..." she asked, first things first, and she forgot about introducing herself too. The girl called Aura - another weird mutant name - looked cheerful enough, despite the fact that Susan had just hit her pet bird. Apparently that was not the only pet she had. "Umm... My name is Susan." she said cautiously "You are a mutant." It wasn't a question, it was an observation. When in an awkward situation, state the obvious.
"Yes, though i believed it was a cat at first and even now don't see much difference" she said taking one last look for the escaped bird, wondering if it would return here. "Got her from a zoo some animal based mutants raided awhile back" she said with a smile almost entirely unworried about the bird's safety. The fact that it had been hit also seemed to escape her, though aura simply figured the bird would learn not to just attack people and that it had made it;'s own choice.
"Yes, i am a Mutant and you don't seem surprised" she said with a smile, she had no way of knowing if the woman was human or mutant, still she would be kind until she knew, and she wanted to find out relatively quickly. Aura would rather not waste her time with some low human. "And what of you, are you also blessed with a mutation?" she asked tilting her head. She hoped the woman was after all, it might let her see another interesting power, something she always loved to watch. The sheer beauty of a mutation was always enough to make her happy.
"My own" she said taking a step back, the pink Aura thickened around her left arm then she formed a sword, an Axe and a drill with it, before commanding her aura, to dissopear at her finger tip, so her aura flowed to that point before seeming to vanish. The movement looked almost like flowing liquid though it lacked any such properties. "I can manipulate my Aura into many shapes" she explained as a gesture of her good will, unaware that showing all weapons could be taken the wrong way. In fact aura expected the woman to be interested in seeing her mutation, figuring most mutants liked seeing what others could do with their powers.

"Yes, i am a Mutant and you don't seem surprised. And what of you, are you also blessed with a mutation?" Susan arched an eyebrow. Strange one, the pink girl was. "'Well, that's one way to put it." she shrugged "Although the definition of 'blessing' is realtive, when it comes to mutations. I'm not complaining." she admitted. Truth to be told, even though she would have preferred to be a witch, she didn't really mind being a mutant. She watched the pink aura turn into all kinds of things before it disappeared. It was strangely fascinating, to all her senses - mostly pink, with a hard, metallic sound, and something soft too, like porcelain. It buzzed with energy. "Fascinating." she nodded once the display was over "So that is where you got your codename from." She felt like she owed the girl an explanation of her own powers in response. "My mutation is passive. I can combine my senses with each other." On that note: she hoped she wouldn't meet the skunk anytime soon.
"I believe our mutations are the mostt beautiful things about us, I enjoy meeting new mutants and finding out what they can do. Every mutant i have seen can do somthing different" she said with a smile. It was some what of a hobby of her to see and meat new mutants for a few reasons. The first just for please and the secound incase she had to fight the person at any point. Aura let her aura fade making the aura appear to be sucked back into palm before dissopearing. She was showing off with the last one, but she had practiced so much for that reason, to be good.
"Yes it is" she admitted bout her code name. "COmbine your senses? i am afraid i do not grasp what it is you do, can you make them stronger?" she asked tilting her head. Aura ahd already forgotten about the bird, fascinated by meating a new mutant. Still an important note was that it was a passive mutation, that meant this mutant was not a weapon, and from the sound sof it could increase her sences to greater heights. Still she hoped the woman would clarify a bit.
She took another look around her to make sure they had not attracted to much attention, or worse cops who were brave. Many cops would just shoot at her if they had the shot, after all she had killed many cops. It seemed calm at the moment somehow however. Brushing her wild hair behind her she leaned against a nearby tree.

"I believe our mutations are the mostt beautiful things about us, I enjoy meeting new mutants and finding out what they can do. Every mutant i have seen can do somthing different" That sounded true. Susan had to agree. She was not sure about the 'most beautiful' part, she was usually sceptical about the concept of beauty in general, but unique, that was for sure. She found the variety of mutations fascinating, and apparently the girl did too. "COmbine your senses? i am afraid i do not grasp what it is you do, can you make them stronger?" Did she? "Yes." Susan answered after giving it some thought "Basically, I can see sounds, smell colors, and so on, in all possible combinations." she explained. She watched the aura disappear "I can also sense other mutants. They have a distinct... quality about them."
Auea had to think hard about the girl's power description, in many ways it was hard for her to grasp, the idea of seeing a dound or smelling a color simply made no sense to her. Try as she might to understand it she just did not see how it would work. Her other power however to sense mutants now that interested Aura to no end. "Well to be honest im not quite sure i understand the idea of smelling purple, still being able to sense mutants is awesome, a power i wish i had myself some times" she said more excited about this second power by far.
"Mutants do have a good quality to them though, one day maybe our peoples pasts won't be filled with the winds of sorrow" she said thinking more aloud then anything else."You may wish to be careful to, their are many who might try and take atvantage of your wonderful talent" she said worrying not about people learning the color purple smelled like a grape pr whatever but that she could tell when somone was a mutant. Someone could easily use that to find and kill mutants while they sleapt for example. Shaking her head a bit Aura tried to get back to the topic she had began before.
"So can i ask, can you tell a child is a mutant before their powers manifest? " she asked casually mostly curious becuse of the earlier incident whare mutant children were being killed by human extremists. Brushing her hair from falling over her face she looked around, trying to make sure the humans kept some distance. Humans still made her nervous to a degree despite how easily most of them were to kill in the city, nothing like the woods back home where everyone had an automatic weapon.

There was some sort of a miscommunication going on here; Susan was not sure Aura understood the quality of her powers. On the other hand, she looked concerned. Wind of sorrow? How poetic. Susan concluded Aura was referring to her (or others') painful past experiences. "You may wish to be careful to, their are many who might try and take atvantage of your wonderful talent" "I am not sure how useful it would prove to be" she mused "Passive sensory mutations are not what most mutant activists aim for. Although you might be right, the ability to spot mutants does have its uses." Yes. Susan had been educating herself on the mutant issue. "So can i ask, can you tell a child is a mutant before their powers manifest? " "Umm..." Susan's eyes narrowed "I am not sure. I have never tried it before. I don't usually look at children that much."
"I Only ask becuse if you could and somone found out, then you would ve one of the more valuable mutants on earth. Anti-mutant activists would want you so they could kill children before they became mutants and by pro-mutant forces to look for recruits" she said honestly concerned for the woman, the bird entirely forgotten for the moment. "My own power lacks any use other then a weapon and shield" she said with a shrug.
"Becides Human's rarely respond with common sence" she said looking around, still a bit nervous about the random people walking around., She was still hoping a cop had not seen her foolish run through the park after the bird. She ahd made the news a few to many times for the police to just let her go and becides they normelly shot before questioning her these days anyway. Snapping abck to reality she looked back at susan "AM i keeping you from anything?" she asked curiously, hoping she was not.
