Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: Lexi had no scars or tattoos other than the faint flame image on her back, and has no piercings.
Other features: Lexi has unusually pale skin - not so pale that it makes her look dead but pale enough for her skin to be noticeably different compared to other people.
Link to picture: LINK is clicky! - ignore the super-hero suit she's wearing in this picture.
Everyday clothing style: Lexi's clothing style does tend to lean towards the emo-rocker style, so her clothing usually consists of dark colours. She normally wears black skinny jeans, and a dark-coloured t-shirt with either some form of dark-coloured jacket or some form of dark-coloured jumper over the top.
Uniform: Lexi goes to a reasonably normal school and wears a reasonably normal school uniform - white schoolshirt, dark-blue tie and dark-blue formal-looking school jacket over the top. She refuses to wear skirts, instead choosing to wear black school-trousers.
Sleepwear: When in bed, Lexi wears a black sleeveless top and a pair of dark blue shorts.
Miscellaneous clothing: Lexi wears a small, golden egyptian symbol hung on a thin gold chain underneath her clothing. It was given to her by her parents and is supposed to give her good luck. She also wears a small watch on one wrist.
characterPersonality: Lexi all the time strives to just be a normal kid. She finds her powers, while useful, can sometimes be a bit of a social barrier that she feels seperates her from those around her. Lexi tends to be quiet, and prefers to remain unnoticed as she doesn't like to stand out from the crowd. Lexi also has a lack of confidence in her own abilities, and is always doubting herself which can lead to her seeming a bit depressive sometimes. She tends to be very nervous around people she doesn't really know that well, and usually only is involved in a conversation if someone else invites her into it. However, once she gets to know someone, Lexi's true inner personality shines. She is warm, friendly, and respectful to those she knows well enough, and can be a truly loyal friend. She has a great sense of humour, although only those she calls her true friends ever get to see it. Lexi tends to be a very patient person - especially with her friends - and tends to become more depressed than angry if something has upset or annoyed her.
Hobbies/ Interests: Lexi is a very athletic girl, and is much faster and stronger than she appears to be at first glance. Because of this she tends to enjoy very athletic activities, such as running or cycling great distances. She has the potential to be very good at competetive running sports - but tends to shy away from competing, mainly due to her lack of confidence in herself. Lexi takes an interest in martial arts, but has never had the confidence to expand upon or truly develop this beyond the basics. Lexi is also a keep swimmer, and likes to swim a lot in a lake near to where she lives as it tends to be very clean, and also not many people venture out to it so the lake tends to be a very quiet place where she can unwind peacefully. Lexi's artistic interests orientate mainly around music - she is attempting to learn to play the guitar and can play the harmonica reasonably well. Lexi also has a remarkable singing voice - but she doubts her own musical talents and tends to keep them hidden away almost as a personal secret.
Job or part time job and description: Lexi has no job that relates to her super-powers. However, she does have a part-time job working on the checkouts of her local supermarket a few evenings a week and some weekends. It's not a grand or glamorous job and she hates doing it, but she doesn't have much choice in the matter. Her responsibilities mainly orientate around sitting at the checkout scanning barcodes and dealing with money and all the other tasks that come with operating a checkout desk. Lexi has no issues with any of her fellow employees but doesn't feel any particular bond with most of them. However, there is one amongst the staff team that Lexi does have feelings for but is too embarrassed and nervous to let these feelings show.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Lexi is not afraid of spiders or anything like that. However, she does have a deeply-embedded fear of rejection. She is also afraid of failing her friends, and not being able to be a good friend in return. Lexi does have an unusual phobia of very small and cramped spaces if they are filled with either water or strawberry jam. The main concern over Lexi, however, would be the way she doubts herself all the time - which could have negative consequences in the future.
Special (non-mutation) talents: Lexi has above-average hand-eye co-ordination combined with quick and responsive reflexes. She is stronger and faster than what is average for girls her age. Lexi has excellent eye-sight and can see perfectly fine without the aid of any lenses of any kind. Lexi is musically gifted in that she has a beautiful singing voice.
Morality: Good
While Lexi may be shy and timid, she still has a good grasp of things going on in the world around her. While she may not be perfect herself, she strongly believes in the good of both mankind and mutants alike. Lexi is a strong believer in justice, and would willingly protect and defend the greater good if she had to.
mutationsShimmering Spherical-shaped Shield of Fire: (Primary mutation-ability)Mutation description: Lexi creates a static, shimmering, sphere-like of fire around her of a variety of sizes. The smallest shield Lexi can make is just big enough to tightly surround her. The biggest she can make would be just barely bigger than 24ft in diameter, which is big enough to confortably surround an average-sized 7-seater vehicle. However Lexi finds it difficult to generate, much less maintain, a shield any larger than 16ft in diameter. The fireshield can deflect most impacts from small knocks up to a maximum deflectable force of which is comparable to the strength of a car crusher. The shield can also deflect most gases and toxins. However, the stronger the impact that the shield has to withstand, the more energy it takes to generate and maintain. The shield uses raw energy from within Lexi combined with the oxygen contained within the shield to work.
Strengths: The sphere-like shield can be made in a large variety of sizes - it could be any size from being small enough to tightly surround her, or big enough to surround an object like a car she might be in at the time. The fireshield cannot be destroyed by an external force if that force is below the strength of the average car crusher. Any impact within this limitation would just bounce back off again. If an attempt is made to crush the shield, the force of the pressure is transferred to the opposite side of the shield and, if the shield were to survive the pressure, would cause the shield to crush whatever is in its path. So if the force is strong enough to collapse the roof of a car, and the fireshield is on top of a car, then the crushing force transfers around the shell of the shield, causing the roof of the car beneath the shield to get crushed. The shield can be maintained for a long time depending on how mentally strong Lexi is and how big the shield is. If the oxygen were to run out inside the shield, Lexi would only need to lower and the shield to restore oxygen to the space where the shield was, then restore the shield. Restore rates depend on the size of the shield - the bigger the space, the longer it'll take for the oxygen to return to it.
Weaknesses: The sphere-like shield requires large levels of concentration and energy to maintain. The bigger the shield, the more concentration and energy it requires to maintain. If crushed, the energy and concentration required is increased dramatically. Lexi cannot maintain the fireshield when unconscious. When maintaining the shield, Lexi cannot move at all and is frozen in whatever pose she was in when the fireshield was created. The shield can only be projected around Lexi as the shield can only be projected if Lexi is inside it. Lexi's shield power has a suprisingly large carbon footprint. The shield can only take impacts up to the strength of a car crusher - anything stronger than that would put too much pressure on Lexi, and cause the shield to collapse and maybe even cause Lexi to lose consciousness. The shield uses up not just Lexi's energy but also the oxygen inside the shield, so if Lexi were to maintain the shield for long periods then the oxygen inside the shield would eventually run out, either causing Lexi to pass out or forcing her to lower the shield. The shield has a tendency to at least leave burn marks on any object it touches. If someone were to touch it with their bare skin, it could give them second-degree burns if they had normal skin. However, strengthened skin or other protective abilities might not be affected depending on the strength of the skin.
fighting styleStyle: Hand to hand combat and basic martial arts techniques
Explanation: Lexi has no weapons other than her mutation abilities, and so tends to rely more on her close-combat and hand-to-hand abilities when in a fight. Her manouverability, above-average speed and reasonably high physical strength are of a great assistance to her when fighting as they allow her to make quick attacks upon an opponent without leaving much time for a reaction.
Pros for fighting style: Lexi's speed and strength make her well suited to quickly launching an attack on the opponent. She is also good at evading and avoiding any attacks from an apponent. Her speed and especially her manouverability make her a tricky target to hit in a close combat situation, and her (albeit-limited) martial arts skills allow her to deliver good and hard blows in quick succession in a fluid and skillful manner.
Cons for fighting style: While Lexi is good at close-combat, she tends to be left open to long-range attacks. While she has her fire shields and fire beams to help her out in long-range combat, she is much more suited to close-combat and so tends to be weak against any long-range combat. Also, while Lexi's speed, agility and strength may be high, her defensive abilities are not so much. While she as her fire shields to take some of the pressure, they can't protect her all the time. This means that Lexi is not capable of taking more than a couple of hits, and is easily weakened by even just a couple of successful attacks against her.

History Of Your Character:Lexi's parents had only been married for 3 months when they found out that Emma, Lexi's mum, was pregnant. This had been an unexpected yet pleasant suprise - they both knew that they wanted kids one day, but hadn't really been planning for them. Surely enough, Lexi was born mere months later. The two proud parents had spent a long time looking through names for their new baby girl, and found it difficult to come up with anything suitable. They eventually chose Alexandra, after Emma's late grandmother, but chose to abbreviate it to Lexi in normal conversation as it would be easier to say than her full name.
Lexi grew up happy and healthy with her loving and caring parents, who thought the world of her. Lexi adored her parents, and missed them greatly when they had to go to work and leave her at playschool. Things were great for Lexi and her parents, as things should be. While Lexi's parents were also happy with the way things were, they each secretly wished that Lexi had a brother or sister to play with. However, their wish came true when Lexi was about three and a half years old, when Emma gave birth to a baby boy. This time, finding a name was easier for Lexi's new baby brother as James had suggested they they name him Jake - a variation on his own name. As soon as Lexi had first layed eyes on Jake, she immediately warmed to the boy and took a liking to him.
As Jake and Lexi both grew, the two of them would play together. A bond quickly formed between the two, growing stronger by the day. Even when Lexi started school, she continued to spend her spare time with her younger brother. When in school, Lexi worked hard and did well with her schoolwork. She also made a few friends and, while she wasn't one of the most popular in the school, she still got on well with a lot of the people in her class. Lexi's parents were proud of how their daughter was progressing and developing, and thought the world of her. Lexi wished and hoped that these great times would never end - but sadly, not all wishes come true.
It was the evening before Jake's birthday. Lexi was spending the evening at a friend's house, while her mum, dad and brother were all in town shopping. Everything seemed fine - Lexi was having a great time with her friends and the shopping trip seemed to be going well. However, something happened that night. The first she knew of it was when a police officer turned up at Lexi's friend's house with Jake and their only aunt and uncle - Ellis and Marvin. Lexi instantly knew something was up from the expression on Jake's face, but hoped against hope that it wasn't anything too bad. But then her hopes were destroyed when she was told that her parents never be coming home again. Lexi wasn't told the details, or even how her parents died. However, a small part of her was slightly comforted by the realisation that she'd at least still have her little brother Jake.
That night, Lexi and Jake stayed over with Lexi's Aunt Ellis and Uncle Marvin. They weren't happy about the arrangement and spent the rest of the evening ranting about how they hated kids, but Lexi reassured herself that it'd only be for one night. The next day, the four of them - aunt, uncle, Lexi and Jake - were told that Jake and Lexi would have to live with Ellis and Marvin from now on as the couple were Lexi's only remaining living relatives. Marvin was furious about the news, and threatened a whole bunch of actions. Eventually an agreement was reluctantly made - Lexi would stay with her aunt and uncle, and Jake would go to foster parents. Once Lexi found out about this, she desperately tried to change everyone's minds, pleading for her and her brother to stay together. Lexi ended up flying into a huge rage of anger and fury beyond anything that could be considered normal for the 7-year-old girl. However, it did no good - Lexi was taken home by her aunt and uncle and Jake was taken off to an adoption agency. That was the last Lexi saw of her younger brother.
Lexi hated her aunt and uncle for seperating her from Jake and blamed them for her life being thrown upside down. As the years went by, Lexi became depressed, self-doubting and withdrawn. Her friends had all found out what had happened, and had abandoned her as if she had become a dead insect. Things weren't helped by Aunt Ellis and Uncle Marvin's relentless hate of her. Ellis mainly ignored her, or would just yell at her now and again for no real reason. However, Marvin took things a step further and would use violent actions against the girl. Lexi normally tried to stay away from the hate, and spent a lot of time by herself contemplating things.
Lexi was lucky that her aunt and uncle's home was on the outskirts of the city, and was very near to a large expanse of wild and empty countryside. Lexi often would sneak out of her bedroom window and out into the countryside to explore her surroundings. A year and a half after she started living with her aunt and uncle, and on her ninth birthday, Lexi discovered a small lake in the middle of this wild countryside that seemed to have permanently clean water and was hidden amongst a very dense gathering of trees. From then on, Lexi would spend a lot of her time by the lake, sometimes playing on her harmonica and singing to herself, and other times she'd go swimming in the lake itself. While things seemed bad with her aunt and uncle, she always felt glad she was able to get away from it all and just chill out in the most natural environment she had ever encountered.
Deep inside her, Lexi felt she was meant for something greater - something more than just the daily slog of schoolwork, her aunt and uncle, her part-time job at the supermarket, and the rest of her everyday life. She didn't know what it was, but she could feel it deep within her soul that there was something more out there. She felt within herself that she would one day be able to accomplish great things - things she wouldn't have otherwise dreamt she would ever be capable of...
RoleplayWhere did you learn about this site?: I ran a Google search which took me to a dead site, which had a link to a dead site, which had a link to a dead site, which had a link to here. I would tell you which sites but I have since lost my browsing history (long-story-short - dead hard-disk meant information was permanently lost) - I then re-found the site through a Google search whilst looking for something completely un-related.
Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: No. I have none. Sorry!
Sample RP: (Sample is set after gaining of powers - but I'm going to start RP'ing from just before she gains her powers as I'd then be able to add the discovery of her powers to the RP to ...flesh it out a bit... and for character development and stuff...)It was late in the evening, and the setting sun was throwing a gorgeous orange glow across the white, puffy clouds that littered the afternoon sky. Lexi was actually in a good mood for a change - for once, things seemed to be going her way. She'd done well at school, work hadn't been too much of a drag, and she'd even managed to pluck up enough courage to actually have a conversation with her favourite co-employee.
Yes, Lexi told herself happily,
maybe things are actually picking up for me, now. Lexi grinned to herself - a rare sight in itself - as she headed home, thinking,
What could possibly go wong now? She could just feel a small part of her nervously squirm as she thought to herself how her aunt and uncle could so easily turn her great day into a bad day. So, quickly reversing her step, she turned in a different direction and headed straight for her favourite relaxation spot - the forgotten lake.
As she approached she noticed that there was no-one around, as usual - in all the times she'd been going to the lake, no-one had ever even come close to it. Reaching into a hollow section of a trunk of one of the surrounding trees, Lexi rummaged for a moment, before finding the one thing she was looking for - her trusty harmonica. Sighing peacefully, Lexi sat down by the side of the lake, and started to play. As she played, memories of her conversation with Alex replaying in her mind.
What's come over me? She wondered to herself,
I've never felt this content or happy before - not since... She shook that thought from her head, refusing to let herself think about her brother or her parents. Getting up from where she sat, Lexi then carefully placed her harmonica back into the hollow section in the tree trunk. Turning back to the Lake with the intention of going for a swim, Lexi was about to pull her clothes off, when she tought she heard something. Turning quickly, she found herself facing the last person she had expected to bump into - least of all by the lake...
Changelog:
27 January 2010: Changelog added to keep track of modifications made during the profile application process.
28 January 2010: Removed family section as it was unnecessary information. Modified bubble-related power so it was no longer a bubbler-power and turned it into the fire shield power I had intended it to be.
29 January 2010: Removed unnecessary colourings from titles as I felt them unnecessary - that, and they might not work when posted.
30 January 2010: Removed flight power - only one secondary power is allowed, and it was unfitting with the other powers so made the character seem unbalanced.
31 January 2010: Removed 'bubble-shaped' from shield power - accidental typo. I have modified the limitations of the shield power so it now has a size restriction and a strength restriction and other restrictions. Multiple modifications were made to the firebeam power. Quote-marks were removed from the thought dialogue in the RP sample.
1 February 2010: Fixed firebeam to be more ...fire-based... I also increased its likeness to a flamethrower as it seemed more fitting.
2 February 2010: Adjusted shield maximum size to something more realistic. Also fixed the part of the shield power about 'crushing' so it makes more sense, and co-exists better with the set weaknesses.
3 February 2010: Removed secondary ability as it was the only part of the app that still wasn't working out. Also, I re-added the colouring formatting to the titles. Also edited out Birthdate as it was incorrect. Modified layout of text slightly to make it easier to read.
