The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Watching Jewel do what she did best he grinned slightly, if the mansion ever did have finical problems all they would need to do is send Jewel somewhere in a dried out gold mine or a diamond mine and viola tons and tons of materials that they could sell. He grinned slightly, it was a possibility but he tracked his thoughts back towards the men pinned against the ice stakes. ”Good Job Jewel really, and no the gold will be fine pure, it will be more of an incentive for them to listen to what I have to say.”
Nodding his head to Jewel in the direction of the men he smiled and said, ”Try to keep a serious face, you are the muscle after all.” he flashed her a wink and then gestured for Jewel to follow him. Walking back in front of the men he smiled and said, ”Now, as you can see my friend here has just pulled a very precious metal from the ground here, solid and pure not mixed with anything,” he looked to Jewel and smiled, ”Place it in front of them if you would please.”
Sam grinned as he eyed the men’s expression to the large amount of gold in Jewel’s hands. ”I have your attention now yes?” he asked curiously looking to the leader of the headhunters. His expression lit up and his mouth was slightly hung a jar, ”We aren’t bought that easily, besides we have the law on our side…” Sam laughed, ”That is only the first down payment, we are more than willing to pay you more every time you successfully deliver a target, and as far as the law is concerned you only have them on your side for the time being, I’m sure they will find a reason to arrest you or betray you if they can find someone to work for them at a smaller fee. Unlike the law as you had so bluntly put it has limits to pay, we do not, the very earth provides our wealth as you can see,”
Sam paused and took a few steps closer as the head hunters that were conscious were eying the gold now more greedily than before when promised larger amounts of pay. ”Were listening…”
Sam grinned and looked to Jewel then sat down in front of the lead head hunter, ”Now,” with a way of his hand Sam removed the ice pillar behind him and allowed him free reign to do as he pleased. If he motioned for a gun they would be in trouble but Sam knew greed would get the best of him, he was a mercenary after all. ”you are currently paid to track down mutants running towards the boarders yes?” Sam asked already knowing the answer, ”You don’t have to change up much what you are doing but instead of capturing them and bringing them back to the authorities guide them out of the country, we have set up several locations around Romania to receive the mutants fleeing the country, and for every mutant you help exit the county you receive a bonus of this.” Sam pointed to the gold and grinned satisfied with his idea of paying head hunters to do what they do best.
”Try to keep a serious face, you are the muscle after all.” Lily's lips twitched, and almost ruined the whole 'straight face' thing. Muscle? Really? Boy was Sam good at bluffing. If he can make a bunch of head hunters believe that the fragile girl beside him is someone to be scared of... She did her best to look menacing. It turned out more like 'I'm such a bitch I could kill you if I wanted to, and I wouldn't think twice', but as far as the overall effect went, it worked just as well. Together with the gold in her hands, Sam managed to have their full attention now. "Unlike the law as you had so bluntly put it has limits to pay, we do not, the very earth provides our wealth as you can see” None of them called the bluff yet. Good. Very good. Jewel was glad they happened to find the hunters on a spot where she could reach gold in the ground and work it to the surface - at most places she couldn't have pulled it off. Of course, they had other sources, if needed. Even though Shawn would probably not be happy about being the team's mobile silver supply. The hunters hesitated for a moment; they were not thrilled about working for mutants, but the display of powers together with the offered payment seemed to tip the scale towards the X-men cause. The leader slowly nodded to Sam, finding it hard to take his eyes off the gold. "Tell me more." Lily bit back a smile. Even though her role in this operation was a bluff, she suddenly felt very powerful. It was a good feeling.

A grin that was all that was given as he released all the headhunters from their tied positions to his poles made of ice. ”Now we can leave you here in a snow storm or you can take us up on our offer, believe me, there isn’t any fine print, you help us do what we are doing and you get paid, simple as that.” Sam said as he placed the gold in the head of the hunter’s hands.
Watching his hands clench over it greedily he looked from his hand to the other members of his team around him then back to Sam. He didn’t say anything until he looked to the muscle behind the one that was calling the shots. Sam caught a glimpse of a smirk (even for just a second) on Lily’s lips then a shadow of one on the head of the pack. Sam nodded his head and extended his hand, ”So I take that as a yes? You’d be stupid not to, far less dangerous for you and you get paid a far greater amount that what they are paying you…”
It clicked then and there Sam knew that this was going to be easy to convince him after the lump of solid gold in his hands. The man shook Sam’s hand and then Sam jumped up pulling up the mercenary in the process, ”Now I have yours and your men’s word, if I even hear a rumor that any of you broke this pact we are making today, all of you will pay and I’ll be sure to be creative with the punishment… the thought of frostbite in unmentionable area’s comes to mind…” he let the threat hang in the air to let the hired help know he was serious and had done something similar to the said punishment before, even if he hadn’t.
It was twenty minutes and the unconscious had become conscious, snow under the will of Sam turned to water and was consumed by members of his new Romanian task force. All of who though still battered and bruised were grateful for the business deal, which promised them bank. After Debriefing and handing over a few means of communication Sam looked to Lily and said, ”Alright I think it’s time for us to get a move on, have some more stuff to take care of…” Shaking the hand of the leader of the new task force Sam smiled and said, ”The gold is a parting gift for now but we will be in touch…” getting up and walking back in the direction they came Sam focused on the snow behind he and Jewel and caused a snow storm to hide there escape.
Nothing more than show letting them know what he was capable of. Once they were away from the group he unfocused on the snow that was quickly falling and looked to Lily, ”Great job, I honestly thought you were going to bust out laughing when I said you were the muscle.” he smirked, ”Anyway, paid vacation, minus the pay when we get back to state side.”
”Great job, I honestly thought you were going to bust out laughing when I said you were the muscle.” Lily bit back a grin and when she turned to look at Sam her expression was completely serious. "Why, what is so amusing about that? It's a fact." The seriousness only lasted this long, and the next moment she was grinning from ear to ear. ”Anyway, paid vacation, minus the pay when we get back to state side.” Lily nodded. "That sounds like fun." she chuckled, then was silent for a while as they walked in the snow "Wow. Well, now I know I can pull metals from the ground. Isn't that fun?..." It sure was. Another mission that ended with their goals accomplished, no body count, and no major injuries. Now all that was left to do was to go back to the hotel for some well deserved rest. And that, in Lily's fairly new book of being an X-man, was a complete success. For now.
