The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Saphirus felt his fingers tingling sharply, the energy in them begging to escape; protesting against the bindings that allowed it to be trapped in such a fashion that ignored so many of the universe's laws. He ignored it though, watching his opponent, and readying himself as he heard his partner in heroism's victorious cry. He didn't look, but he was sure the sound meant that he had something nice and heavy to throw around... Good. The woman looked in his direction again, and he tensed, as the table was grabbed instead of him. With little thought he switched crowbar hands and grabbed the tables leg as it was flung Juka's way, using his left hand so that he wouldn't stop it.
As he was lurched off his feet, he felt a burning on the left side of his back as a spike raked across it... Apparently he had barely escaped death... That was good. As the table flew through the air, Saph acted with all of his speed, pulling himself up, and slamming the left side of his head into the back of the table, sending a good bit of force into it. With a loud 'CRACK' the table shattered in mid flight, the pieces flying mostly off to the side while Saph was catapulted past Juka and into the wall to make a nice 'thud'. He had managed to twist enough to hit on his right side, and then land on his right foot when he subsequently dropped to the floor after hitting the wall.
"I think some of those table chunks should work for your.... whatever you do, yeah?" Saphirus stepped forward from the wall, smiling widely as he locked his eyes on their opponent once again. She could form spikes out of nowhere, it seemed... He would have to watch his back the most... People with such abilities always went for the back first; they figured they were being clever. Everyone attacked from the back... Saph was gonna show this murderer how to attack from the front. He moved forward still. "Hit me with whatever you've got, Jr. I got a pretty face to break."
This would be a good time to mention that Saph tended not to discriminate when it came to a#$ kicking; if he thought you deserved it, he would do his best to deal it to you... The fact that this girl wasn't the least bit bad looking wasn't gonna prevent him from, well, making her a lot less pretty via fist in face.
The mutant woman was so casual about her evil and her killings that it was almost hard to believe. If not for his horrific experience with Aura he wouldn't have believed. That had changed him, changed his previous niavely optimistic view of the world. Was it for the better that he no longer believed in the essential goodness of all people? He wasn't yet certain. Certainly life was darker but it was also more realistic and shouldn't that count for something?
Juka's cash register whirled around him and a table came carreening in his direction. Simultaneously he made a sharp left, narrowly avoiding colliding with the table and the table smacked into Saph, shattering into numerous pieces. He had to stop himself from cringing in sympathy, even though he knew Saph had a strange liking of being struck with heavy objects; something about the way his power functioned. Much to Juka's pleasure, the shattered table created several rather large heavy pieces of wood, the perfect size for use as weapons. They still weren't his anvils, but he had a feeling that they would be sufficient for his needs. How much force did one need to injure a mutant, after all?
"I think some of those table chunks should work for your.... whatever you do, yeah?"
"You are so very right, my lovely Massochist," Juka agreed, anticipation in his voice. Rather strangely he was feeling every bit the anticipation of the battle that his voice portrayed. Strange indeed that he should feel so, normally he avoided any potential injury to self. But these were the heroic acts that defined him and would continue to define him in the future and he was determined to make a proper showing of himself.
Without hesitation Juka bubbled the three largest pieces of wood, near the two foot limit of his mini bubbles, and sent them whirling around his bubble along with the cash register. "Prepare yourself Massochist Saph!" It was all the warning he gave the other man, before zooming close enough to strike him with his spinning wooden weapons of doom. Three large pieces of wood collided with him, followed by one metal cash register, coins jangling inside. A moment later and he commanded his bubble away, floating near the roof and awaiting the best opportunity to strike his true opponent.

Oh no they were going to try to attack, how absolutely terrifying. Well, it would be terrifying if Sapphire didn't have an exact way to combat them in their assault against her. First things first though, she had to leave these boys with some sort of witty saying or terrifying remark. The artist chose to go with the latter of these two choices and smile rather sadistically at these two. While it was true she was a tiny bit on the insane side, she did have enough sense to leave a battle when she knew it was going to end badly, which this battle was going to end badly. Most likely for both sides because sapphire wasn't in a pleasant mood anymore and that means she would most likely slip up and get blood all over her white dress and this was the last thing she wanted.
“Well then, if you want to mess up my pretty little face, Im afraid that will be quite impossible. Do me a favor and say hello to Frances and George for me, they will take good care of you boys.” Sapphire smiled that sweet angelic and slightly sadistic smile.
With that, the mysterious murderous woman sunk into the floor in a small swirling black hole that only appeared under her own feet as the boys were charging up their attack. Now at this point one must wonder if she had been able to do that the whole time, why hadn't she done it sooner. The answer was simple really, she was Sapphire Lupin, oldest of the Lupin sisters and by far the most sadistic little darkness controllers anyone would ever meet. The thought of making those boys squirm and fear for their lives was too juicy of an opportunity to pass up.
If the boys looked behind the bar, all the rum would be gone as well as any trace of the woman that was there previously. Another interesting thing that somewhere off in the distance sirens began to blare, loudly and oddly enough they sounded as if they were getting closer. The artist may or may not have informed the local police of some 'horrible mutants' killing an entire room of bikers and leaving no trace. The cops that were coming may or may not be named Frances and George, two dirty cops that worked for Sapphires employer. Judging, by the set pieces, the moves and the results, Sapphire Lupin had played her cards right and by the end of the night, she had a Royal Flush in her hand.
((Sapphire called the Police on yall, telported away away and took any trace of her with her. Shes a smooth criminal. Yall are more than welcome to not get caught by the police.))
Saphirus smiled as the debris and the cash register slammed into him , making his arm buzz excitedly. This b#$%#'s goose was cooked! He looked slowly back and up to Juka, a wild look in his eyes that would make someone who didn't know him wonder if he was totally sane. "You ready to make this murderer wish she was never born?" He kicked his leg back into the ground, and sent enough force into it to crack the wood beneath his feet. The expenditure launched him forward toward the woman with what he hoped was more speed than she though him capable to produce. He grinned triumphantly as he pulled his fist back and readied it for a launch at her face.
Lift off never came. He had a look of dismay on his face as he shrunk into the ground, and he was left tripping over himself where his target had been. He fell into a clumsy roll, bumped into a table, and shifted slowly to a sitting position. "You gotta be F$%kin kiddin me..." The older mutant growled as he got to his feet slowly, and looked around for the girl... no sign of her. "God damnit... she ran! What a coward!" He looked up at Juka with a frank, grumpy look on his face. "It figures, don't it?" His hand absent mindedly reached for the table next to him and expended all of the force, which he figured he wouldn't be needing. BLAM, the table crumbled, and he ignored it. something more important was happening. Sirens. She had called the cops?! "How is that physically possible?! She was just here! Bubble boy, can you get us the hell out of here?!" He hobbled to the spot below where the dress wearing young man floated.
After charging up the massochist Saphirus with his cash register and several large pieces of wood, Juka prepared himself to go on the offensive against the shadow killer. Unfortunately she appeared to have a different outcome in mind than the one that Juka was hoping for and, instead of sticking around to face the wrath of his bubbles, she disappeared. It was an impressive disappearing act, he'd give her that much, with the sinking into the floor into a black hole of swirling shadow, but it was a disappearance nevertheless which meant escape from the justice she so rightfully deserved to face. Next time. If they ever encountered each other again, she would pay for her crimes next time.
That's when Juka noticed the sirens. Had the shadow killer really called the police on them? Really? It seemed ridiculous and yet it clearly was the case. Saph, it appeared, agreed, judging by his own angry words. Juka floated down to Saphirus, un-bubbled, stepped close to him, grabbed his hand, and rebubbled the both of them. "I do apologize Massochist Saph, but if I don't hold onto you you'll fall through the bottom and I don't think that'd be very pleasant for you." With those words he commanded his bubble to float out the door and away from the scene of the horrible horrible crime.
