Personality: Lexie is a very open-minded individual. She loves to meet new people and tends to put herself out there whenever she can. She's flirtatious, fun, and a little bit crazy...and she wouldn't change herself a bit. She can be a bit insecure at times, especially concerning her new-found identity as a mutant, but she is working hard to overcome that and get back to being herself once more. Hobbies/ Interests: Lexie is a gymnast and has been into competitive martial arts since she was eight years old. Job or part time job and description: None Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Lexie is still afraid of the dark, although she hasn't quite figured out why. She's a bit insecure about her new identity as a mutant and how people percieve her now, but she very rarely makes this concern public, and does her best to hide her insecurities from other people. Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good. Lexie has a very strong opinion of how things should be in the world, and she thinks it is very important to be good and try and do what she can to help others.
Mutations
Mutation description: Fear Amplification--ability to find another person's greatest fear and amplify it, even bring it to life. This power works by allowing Lexie to delve into a person's mind, identifying their greatest fear. Once she has identified the fear, she has the ability to amplify it if she continues to concentrate. This works best if she keeps eye contact, but can work either way. Once she knows a person's fear, amplifying it is a bit more complicated, and is based entirely on how well and how -long- she concentrates on the other person, combined with her own emotions. The more concentrated she is, the easier it is to bring it to life, and the more angry or scared she is, the more detailed it becomes. Lexie and the target of the intended attack are the only ones who can see what Lexie creates Lexie isn't entirely sure -how- it works, though she has figured out that it is greatly dependant upon her focus at the time. She's limited to using this ability on only one person at a time.
Strengths: Fear amplification is a strong defensive ability, and allows Lexie to not only intimidate but on some level even debilitate her enemies. The fear takes over...and Lexie controls how long or strong the effect is, allowing her to get out of almost any sticky situation.
Weaknesses: Fear amplification is not an exact science. One of its major weaknesses is its unreliability. Since it is dependant upon Lexie's concentration, it can be overcome easily by someone with stronger mental strength than she has. She's also still working out the kinks. She can only affect people within 30 foot range of herself, and the effect drops if she breaks her concentration or her victim moves out of her range. When a victim does break free, the fear subsides. The fears that Lexie can manifest can not actually physically hurt her victims, either...even if they -think- it can.
She has no control over her ability while she is sleeping, and has been known to sometimes bring her own fears to life while in a sleeping state. There's one more not-so-little problem, too: Lexie doesn't really have a lot of control over her power yet. That is to say she hasn't quite figured out how to reverse the effects on her own. Lexie -must- remain concentrated on invoking the fear too, so she's pretty much stationary while using her power. Controlling the power to the extent that she can requires a great deal of energy, and leaves her feeling rather weak afterwards.

History Of Your Character:
Alexis is the only child in her family, but she wasn't really spoiled. Neither of her parents were very well off, but they did what they could to be sure that their daughter lived a comfortable life. Alexis's father Sean was a mutant with the power of cameoflage, and her mother was well aware of it. Sean did what he could to hide his mutant identity from non-family members in hopes to make raising his daughter a bit easier. It worked, and Alexis (loving called Lexie by her parents and loved ones) grew up in a relatively stress-free environment.
At the age of six, Alexis learned that her father was a mutant. She was thrilled and fascinated to be a part of her family's little secret, and the revelation seemed to only bring her closer to her father. She was certainly a daddy's girl, and had her father wrapped securely around her little finger. When he died of a heart attack shortly after her eighth birthday, the young girl was completely crushed. She refused to speak for nearly three months after losing her father, and was forced into grief counseling...but eventually she bounced back, and was more herself again.
After losing her father, she and her mother were on their own. After about three years, her mother remarried and the family moved to a new home--only a few doors down from the one that Lexie had spent most of her childhood in. It was strange and new, but Lexie eventually allowed the new man (not a mutant) a place in her heart. He wasn't her father, but he did a pretty good job at taking care of her and her mother, and the young girl was thankful for that.
A month after her fourteenth birthday, Alexis was on her way home from an eventful day at school and one of her gymnastics meets. When she rounded the corner onto the street that would eventually lead her to her house, she was shocked to find herself in the wrong place at exactly the wrong time. She found herself face to face with a criminal. He attacked. Alexis did all she could to fight him off, but he was much stronger than she expected he'd be. She closed her eyes tight and let out a loud scream, wishing to be anywhere but there, away from him, away from it all. She wished that, if even only for a moment, he could feel the fear that she felt. Before she knew it, he released his grip on her. There was a look of fear in his eyes unlike nothing Lexie had ever seen. Her eyes locked with his, and a few seconds later, he was running.
Alexis ran. She ran home, threw some clothes into a bag, and left her home as quickly as her feet would carry her. She hasn't spoken to her mother or her stepfather since the incident.

Lexie rounded the corner, her books in hand and a slight bounce to her step. It had been a fairly decent day in the grand scheme of things, and she was pretty proud of that fact. She'd passed the test, she'd done well at the meet, and she was actually going to make it home -before- dinner today. With her schedule, that was a rare treat, and something that she was truly looking forward to.
She turned, and found herself on the familiar street that would lead to her home. She look a deep breath, her pace quickening. She wasn't really paying attention to her surroundings anymore. Everything was so familiar. This was her mistake. He came out of nowhere, attacking her and pinning her to a wall. Alexis struggled, but he was much stronger than he'd anticipated. She was scared...more scared than she'd ever been in her entire life. He couldn't possibly know what was going through her mind, but if he could know her fear for even a moment...
Her eyes opened and met with his dark brown orbs. It was strange. Somehow, in that moment, she seemed to know exactly what it was that would make him feel that fear. Her eyes narrowed on him, and his grip loosened, his eyes widening in shock.
"No...no...!" He stammered.
Lexie fell harshly to the ground as he turned the opposite way and ran, a dark shadow chasing him down the street.

HI!!! Welcome to the site! Twyla is a gymnast...well, she was till she ran away from home...but she's STILL scared of the dark....Anyway, welcome to MRO. Maybe we can RP sometime, our charies could have things to talk about. ;D
