The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura was expecting the blinding flash but not the pain that came with it, her momentum kept her moving forward and she was easily thrown by her arm, but even as she was Aura landed in a crouched position, unable to see whare he was, she instead relied on her ears to determine his location. His move had been good and turning around she had no idea if had moved or not quite yet, still she took a number of steps forward her hammer turning back to a sword which she held in defense. He had mentioned trouble making things solid and she reasoned that might be what would ultimately save her. She had fought like this before but not enough to master it.
"Very nice" she said with a smile back to him, she made a strike in his general direction but it was poorly aimed, she simply had to try and keep him from launching a bigger attack on her until her eyes returned to normal, then she would do just fine. This would be good training she thought, as most people could not fight very well without being able to see, a skill she wa snow determined to be able to do, much better then she could now.
"You handled the pain better than the last one," he said as moved lightly on his bare feet. watching her reaction. The lunge had missed him by quite a bit, but that didn't seem to put her or him off of the training. He readied himself, not wanting to hurt her but wanting to make a hit. he began to focus and concentrate on his ability pushing it into a beam first would be the logical choice, power first then refinement. Aiming for her aura sword, so as not to hurt her if it did connect. He fired off the beam from his hand, and he could feel the strain in his body from doing so. Actual pain in his hands from the light. Along with the headache now forming and the sweat trickling down his face.
her eyes still hurt but they were improving she could see the outline sof things now and was vaguely aware of whare things were. She never even saw the beam fire and was surprised when she felt something tug hard on her Aura blade, enough to turn her a bit. She was unaware that her power let light for the most part pass through so the partially solid beam mostly passed through her Aura as if it was not even thare.Trying to adjust for how much she had been moved Aura moved forward again, looking around, the impact had drained her aura a bit but since most of it passed through her Aura it did not take to much away. Rubbing her eyes she quickly realized the act was futile it helping her eyes purge the excess light.
Seeing an outline that looked vaguely human Aura charged it and came down with her sword, biting deep into the wooden box, from the sound she knew she had not hit a person and so backing up she put her back to the crate and tried to scan the room again. She knew he had to be in here somewhere but she also knew even if her eyes did clear it would likely only be a short time before he fired off another light burst. So she need to hide it when her vision did return or she would only get one shot at this.
Seeing her move was a bit of a shock to his system. He really didn't think it would work on the first try if at all ever. Thinking to himself, that he would have to keep practicing this, if he wanted to me more help to the Order. Stepping lightly to his left as he watched her smash through a crate in the room, he was glad that it wasn't him, seeing that she wasn't going to pull her punches.
Guessing it was time for a distraction, he quickly pulled light from the room making it swirl around her head, causing patterns of white light to shift and swirl, and trying to bring himself up close to her left side, with out being heard, but he was still new at this sneaking thing but he was sure his years of dance helped keep his steps light. moving swifter he readied and threw an open heeled strike towards her side.
Aura tried to calm herself down and tried to hear his footsteps but she could not. Her first indication of his position was when his kick struck her Aura in back pushing her forward a step as a small peice of her Aura faded from the mass, but Aura twirled around, her blade though blunt would still hurt. Her eyes were getting better and she could make out his form now that she had seen it again. no matter how this went Aura decided she wanted to fight again, after all if she could master fighting without her eyes, then she could do many more things for the order.
She liked this guy to, his power could prove extreamly useful, certainly so if he could do this over an area, robbing many people of the ability to see. Then the order could easily move in for the kill, his strategic value was very very real. She formed a hammer with her other hand preparing to counter whatever the man threw next, trying to be ready for him if she could, still whatever she had been hit with before, had quite a bit of strength, or at least enough to move her which Aura found impressive in itself. She was having fun however and that really what was importent other then keeping her head level enough to fight and learn.
Flowing with the kick as it made contact with her, he continued to spin only to be hit by her aura sword. He felt the full length of the blade against his back as he was knocked down. He was glad that it didn't feel sharp but he wouldn't care to acknowledge that til later. The hit threw him off balance and caused him to teeter forwards only catching himself with his hands on the ground. Looking over his shoulder he saw her eyes begin to get a focus to them, and a small smile on her face. She was enjoying this by the look of it. Bringing himself lower he went to position himself for a quick leg sweep, as that was the only attack position left to him from the vantage.
Aura's eyes cleared finnaly just as the leg sweep made contact and Aura fell to the ground from it, rolling quickly, she could not help but think what kind of distraction he could easily cause his victems.in a major battile. As Aura stood she carefully considerd her options. Eliminateing the light was not an option it would take to long and he still had those light beams of his. What she ahd to do was eliminate the distence between him and herself.
Aura rushed forward again straight at Anthony, she ahd a plan flowing through her head, her arms trailing her just a bit, she was figured he would blind her, but then, her Plan was to move left or right once he did and catch him with her momentum and her arms spread open, she had to try and keep him close if she had hope of winning the match. She was planning to strike somw what low in case he tried to duck.
She was good, was pretty much his thought. That or she refused to ever give up. As she started to charge him he knew he had to blind her again. Simply because she was better at combat than he was. Coming up from his sweep, he raised his hands sending a ball flowing towards her face, to flash again. Hoping it was enough to sway this in his favor.
Aura gritted her teeth as the light once again blinded her vition, their was somthing ironic about not being able to see, in a sea of light. Still she kept moving bringing her arms out on her side, she brought formed her blunted blade on both arms extending her hands at her sides. She was trying figure out whare he was unsure if he moved. SHe darted to the right, her arms comming together in a sort of hugging tackle embrace, the idea that once she was around him she would win, simply becuse at that point she could turn her arm sharp and finnish the fight. But finnishing this was not the real goal, this was a mere sparring match after all.
Moving wasn't exactly what he had thought of at the moment he flashed her again. Sure he was fine at that range, it was kind of odd that he never had a problem with light blinding him. He mused that thought, which was his problem. The moment he thought of what could cause that other than an instinctive use of his power, he felt the weight of her push into him. Faqlling to the ground in the tackle wasn't his idea, but it seemed that gravity hated him right then.
As She struck she felt the impact more then Anthony himself, her fingers probed what she had hit trying to figure out whare his body was. As they hit the ground Aura found herself on top opf the pile, staying on top of him, she brought the blade down upon his neck, but the blade passed through him harmlessly, no longer solid. Standing up, she smiled at him, clearly amused by her own action. She lent a hand to her new friend to help him up. "Your not bad in a fight, you would be very useful in combat" she said, a compliment in her terms but true as well. Even if he could nit fight directly, blinding the enemy would allow the order to cut them down much easier. With her Aura she formed a drill like shape and then a circuler saw one. "We should do this again some time" she said having enjoyed their sparring session brushing her hair behind her shoulder as she did so.
Laying there somewhat stunned He looked at her amazed at her ability and quite thankful to still have his head attached. "You are very good, and I am going to be feeling this for a while." He starred at her as she brushed her hair out of her face. Wondering why he was so comfortable around girls yet any decent looking guy sent his thoughts out of the window.
"I couldn't see why this kind of practice wouldn't be a bad idea. I want to be of use to the order. After all they are giving me food, shelter and a comfortable place to sleep and new friends." The last he said with a bit of hessitation to his voice. Anthony always had problems with making new friends due to his past.
"Thank you, and i agree to be useful is the most important thing" she said referring it as if loyalty would already be concrete at that point. The order had given her the same thing and she was happy for it. Standing she stretched a bit again then looked back at Anthony with a smile. "You could be very useful my friend, a blind opponent does not fight well normally and those light blasts certainly do hurt the eyes. You would be an invaluable asset for that alone" she said beleiveing it to be true. This guy once his powers grew could be an even bigger asset as well, he had potential. "The order has provided me with the same things" she said nodding to his comment.
"We all have our place in life, but i am curious what brings you here Anthony, most come here becuse they ahd some kind of sorrow or pain in their pasts, myself included. My freinds were all killed about 8 months ago" she said casually speaking of it seemed to be getting easier as time went on but the images were only getting stronger. Could they be trying to tell her something she wondered. Shaking the thought aside she looked around the room. "Mutants are such gorgeous creatures, each and every one" she went on.
He listened to her replies, and wondered himself why he was here but he knew that answer. It was because he was jobless and now homeless. But again he made a phoenix flutter from the ceiling lights a=to land on his shoulder. Feeling very much like a character from some book he had read.
" Well to really tell the truth, I lost my job a few weeks ago as an instructor, because the parents found out I was mutant. Then because of that I lost my house, and was told about this place."
he shrugged as the bird preened itself, comically. He laughed slightly at the fact that he was making it act like a real bird he obviously had way to much time on his hands if that was the case.
"But, yea.. I mean where else would I go?" He asked interested. "I just don't care about the news it is always terrible anyway so I never watch it or read the papers. I just like my Sci-fi and Cartoons."
::ooc I am soooo sorry for disappearing but RL had some cheap shots at me::
"Humans can be rather cruel to our kind to be sure, but that is simply their primative fears taking hold of them, they can not help but be afraid of us, as any animal about to fall lashes back at it's predator in a last desperate gambit. Their is another school i have heard of, known as Xavoir's, i don't know much about it, but one of the instructors thare tried to turn me into the police once before they would accept me thare." She said in reply before going on. "Unfortunately, i have acquired a bit of a record over the years, my Parents let the humans lock me in a cage for a long time with humans who ran tests on us. See when my powers first emerged they formed a blade which killed the girl i was fighting with at the time, cut her spine in two" She explained thinking back at the moment, which now seemed a lifetime agao, though in reality it was just under three years ago.
"Here we are safe, those of us with records can stay with no police chasing us, after all what group of humans would attack a mansion with Dozens of mutants, most of which have no qualms about fighting their human oppressors. I despise the human race myself, they took my childhood and my friends away and locked me away to die." she explained further unsure if she was really helping at this point or just rambeling, it might well have been a bit of both.
(Sorry for the late reply, off on rl stuff myself and i kinda thought the thread had died, PM when ya post aagin)
