The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"That was one temptation that never bothered me so I suppose I can't really understand why people would choose that over being outside." Luke admitted after finishing another bite of his hotdog, "I enjoy reading and listening to music but there's so much more to see and do when you're outside. Even for a blind guy like me."
What Sara said was true... people, especially in America gave themselves over to the TV, movies, and game systems without the slightest hesitation instead of getting out and enjoying the weather. With winter approaching and the crispness of autumn still in the air this was a beautiful time to be out before the snow and ice kept a lot of people house bound.
Balancing his hotdog carefully Luke bit down on the bottle cap and then twisted until the seal broke and it opened. Finishing the unscrewing one handed, Luke took a swallow of water before turning his attention to the city around them.
"Why did you come to New York Sara? Were you born here or just moved here?" Luke finally asked before taking another bite of his hotdog and litening to her explanation.
Sara picked at the hotdog toppings that had slid off of her hotdog onto her napkin, Using the curved side of her thumb claw to scrape them up and then get them to her mouth. Waist not, want not.
"Why did you come to New York Sara? Were you born here or just moved here?"
“I think I was born in Michigan.” Sara replied. The toppings tucked into the side of her mouth so she could chew between speaking without her words getting sloppier than what the long feline fangs made them get. “At least that is where I lived till I became a teen.” When Sara escaped.
“You could say I did my own sort of backpacking, across the US.” She was trying to explain things, without going into too much detail. “I ended up in New York, last year. I was going to move on, but, as busy as this place is, it’s grown on me.” Plus the pockets were plentiful for the picking. “Officially, I prefer some place that is more open, but the elevated views from the roof tops are beautiful.”

"I ended up here because of the company and because there are so many other mutants here." Luke replied matter of factly before finishing off the last of his hotdog and then carefully scraping up the extra mustard and onion that had fallen onto his napkin. Licking his fingers clean, Luke's expression was somewhat thoughtful.
"And it's ended up being my home. I love how there's always something going on. Whether you're a morning person or a night person there's something to do."
Sara only had a third of her hotdog gone, She'd been picking off the ingredients with the rounded edge of her thumb claw, and popping them in her mouth. the ingredients nearly gone, Sara ended up working on the hotdog.
"That's true. With the night life as active as the day life, it's sometimes been hard to get around." Sara swallowed between the words. Not minder the normal proper table manners one bit. It was a hotdog. They were meant to be eaten in a none stressed, non formal way. "So do you always buy thieves hotdogs?" Sara couldn't help but ask. The prediciment was sort of amusing.

"Deffinately rare, seldom, and almost never." Luke replied firmly, although the corners of his mouth were working to quirk up in a smile. Leaving the words hang in the air for just a minute he wadded up his napkin and threw it towards the nearest wastebasket, making a ringer with what seemed like little effort.
"But I buy snacks for my friends and their friends a lot more often." Luke finshed as he turned back to face his feline friend. "Take care of yourself Sara. Maybe I'll see you again soon."
Sara swallowed and then took the last bite of her hotdog. With the toppings already gone, There was just the meat and the bun. He finished what he was Saying and Sara took note, that he either considered her a friend or a friend, or… well he at least considered her a friend of a friend. Thanks to Raina.
Sara was slowly finding it harder to keep mad at him. She smoothed her fur, and cleaned her hands on her napkin, then Tossed it to the trash as well. Like Luke, making it right in the center. Hers shot being less impressive, Seeing as she could clearly see.
"Take care of yourself Sara. Maybe I'll see you again soon."
“You can count on that.” Sara said as she stood, adjusting her hood. Then began to walk away. “Watch your back out there.”

"I always do." Luke replied with a little chuckle and a slight wave before turning and walking in the general direction of where he lived. As the distance between himself and Sara grew Luke finally let his sonar completely surround himself once more, blanketing his mind in an awareness of his surroundings.
