The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"1 out of 7."
Cailyn may have been speaking to herself, but Vibe's sensitive ears picked up on the words easily.
"Yep. That's him," she replied, still shoving at the pile. "But don't fool yourself into thinking they're all the same."
She finally got the clothes in, followed by too much laundry soap, shut the lid and flipped the machine on. When she turned back, the girl had dropped her pillow, and was holding her head in her hands. Pain contorted her face. Vibe quirked on eyebrow and leaned back slightly.
"What's wrong with you?" Reflexively she spread her senses a bit further than normal, trying to find some sort of threat beyond the walls of the room. She couldn't feel any physical threats, however.
"Amplified , vibration," the girl whispered softly.
A frown creased Vibe's face. "What do you mean by that?"
Both of the Sonic sisters emitted slight ripples into the air, as a result of their bones constantly vibrating. But unless the girl was highly, highly sensitive, or had a sound-oriented mutation of her own, she shouldn't be able to pick up on the ripples. If the latter were the case, Vibe should have been able to feel the soundwaves in return, which she didn't.
She breathed heavy as the voices went a little less loud then they where before. She could hear the girl talking to her but she only made out half of what she said. The whispers where still running through her head and it was hard for her to hear anything else. She shifted from sitting on her knees to lying on the floor with a painfull look on her face hoping it would end soon. She had these kinds of things as soon as her powers developed and this was no news to her, it was just painfull for her. "I don't know. " she said a bit scared. "They just tell me." she added to the sentance.

Vibe eyed the girl with increasing distrust. She was weird, for sure. Most people didn't simply curl up on the floor in the middle of the day, or in the middle of a conversation. Pain was writ all over Cailyn's face.
"I don't know. They just tell me."
" 'They'? 'They', who?"
The young sonic felt a chill run down her spine. What if the girl was a telepath? Mind readers creeped Vibe and her sister out, with the exception of one of her friends. The pair were used to hearing each other, though their abilities didn't stem from any form of telepathy or psychic connections.
But having someone else eavesdrop on their thoughts?
Cailyn didn't hear the full sentence until she cleared her mind again. Everything was "normal" for her now as the whispers became what they where again. Her breathing became normal again as she let out a sigh of relieve. She rubbed her head and sat back up again. "They don't want anybody to know." She replied to her question.
Cailyn noted the laundrymachine spinning. She never seen that before and she looked at it spinning her head a bit allong the laundrymachine. She shook it off as she remembered something the whispers said. "you don't like me." she said to the girl

"They don't want anybody to know." And then Cailyn promptly became enthralled with the spinning laundry.
"Oookay....." Vibe stared at the girl. The smallest things seemed to fascinate her, like a kitten, or puppy. A very unbalanced puppy that heard voices.
The girl forgot about the machine and looked back at the redhead.
"you don't like me."
Until she knew for sure the nature of this kid's powers, the last thing Vibe wanted her to think was that she didn't like her. Just in case.
"What makes you say that? How can I not like you if I don't even know you? I'm just irritated that I have to do all of this work, is all."
She balked at her own decision, but Vibe forced herself to smile a bit at Cailyn.
"What makes you say that? How can I not like you if I don't even know you? I'm just irritated that I have to do all of this work, is all."
That made sence to Cailyn somehow but still she had a feeling and a thought it was true. She nodded to the girl as she spoke and then replied with: "You don't like what i do." That seemed to be more accurate to what she was told. She started playing with her sock a bit feeling guilty about what she said. She shouldn't speak her mind like that and the whispers always told her to do that. Normally she obayed mostly because the guards would just lock her up again but now there where no guards and she could speak her mind. "Silly me." She whispered to herself.

"You don't like what i do."
Vibe kept the smile pasted on her face.
"I still don't know what you do, kid," she replied, attempting at a lighthearted remark.
"Silly me."
Time for a subject change.
"Well, whatever. No bid deal. So, you're new, eh? Did Abyss get around to giving you a tour? If not, I'm hungry, and the cafeteria's pretty close. Ya hungry?"
Maybe the promise of food would distract the girl away from.... well, whatever or whoever was feeding her ideas.

Cailyn realized that she didn't even know anything about the place she was right now. The last thing she remembered was that she was on a bus full of madmen. She must have fell asleep on the bus. She didn't have breakfest yet since she woke up. Normally they got breakfast around this time and her tummy felt empty. She got up on her feet again and looked down at her stomach. She rubbed her tummy and said: "Breakfast?"

"Breakfast?"
The mention of food seemed to elicit a positive response away from 'them'. That sufficed for Vibe, for now.
"This way then, Cailyn." She paused, then added, "Don't forget your pillow...."
She led the way out of the laundry room, turned down another hall, checking every now and then to be sure the girl was following. Although nothing special when compared to Mondragon Labs, the Sanctuary might have seemed like a maze to newcomers, though it really wasn't. But most of the hallways looked the same, making it hard to find your way if you didn't have a guide.
Still, even if you got lost, it would be easy to find the Cafeteria; the smells wafted on the air a long ways away. Vibe led Cailyn directly to the covered buffet line, which currently held a mix of breakfast and lunch foods.
"Here." She handed the girl a tray. "Dig in."
Going ahead to show her, Vibe began reaching for various plates and bowls of eatables, starting with a bowl of fresh peaches with cottage cheese. Using her fingers, she popped a piece of fruit in her mouth.
"What'd'ya like, 'lyn?" she inquired around the mouthful.
"This way then, Cailyn." She paused, then added, "Don't forget your pillow...."
Cailyn followed the girl through the hallways dragging her pillow allong. The hallways looked like a maze to her but the girl seemed to know the way. If she hadn't followed her, Cailyn would have surely been lost around this place.
They entered the cafeteria, the place of foods. She smelled the food and her tummy growled. She looked down and Shhh-ed at her tummy. "Wait your turn." she whispered to it. She occasionally mistaken the growling her stomach made for somebody or something talking to her. There weren't allot of people around and that was a good thing. Lots of people met lots of minds ment more stress for Cailyn.
"Here." She handed the girl a tray. "Dig in."
She grabbed the plastic tray and examined it. She had these before in the asylum but they where a little bit different. The girl seemed to know what she wanted and went straight for it loading up her tray with food. Cailyn watched her and then watched around the foods.
"What'd'ya like, 'lyn?" she inquired around the mouthful.
She looked around and her eyes fell on the cerial box with the cheery cartoon figure on it. Cartoons where fun and she wanted to try that. She pointed like a child and said: "That one." to the girl.

"That one."
Vibe glanced backwards, and saw Cailyn pointing toward a kiddie cereal box. She nodded toward it.
"Go ahead, grab it. Milk's over by the drinks." She pointed the direction. Surely she didn't expect Vibe to serve her. This was a buffet, and the redhead wasn't wearing an apron.
She moved on, and filled a plate with bacon and ham, and a small serving of potatoes. Then she headed for the orange juice dispenser. With her tray full, she turned to look for Cailyn, half expecting the girl to have picked up several cereal boxes.
Cailyn glanced at the girl and then back at the box. Her eyes when big as she put down her tray and she grabbed the box and looked at the funny cartoon. She opened the box with some problems and looked inside. There was supposed to be a toy in it. She shook the box a few times and entered some content in a bowl located at her tray. The toy was on top and she picked it up and opened it. It was a little red car. She placed it on her tray and got some milk for it. She poored milk into her bowl and followed the girl again shifting her eyes to the toy she just got.

(OOC: I'm going to throw a bit of conflict in, so Cailyn can have some fun with her powers. Feel free to control the NPC however you'd like.
Vibe shook her head at the girl as she regarded her new toy. Cailyn may have looked eighteen, but she acted eight. And since Vibe still didn't understand or trust what she could do, the redhead had no choice but to plaster a smile on her face and hope for the best.
"Found something ya like, eh? Is cereal all you're gonna eat? Here. Try these."
She reached for a plate of strawberries and whipped cream.
"Hey! I wanted those!"
The petite sonic turned to glare as one of the other residents, a tall girl with short, spiky hair and all kinds of piercings in her ears, lip and nose, tried to beat her to the fruit. Vibe was faster, and set the prize on Cailyn's plate.
"Get your own, Blythe," she snapped.
"You bet I will." The taller girl reached out and snatched the bowl off of Cailyn's tray, and made a face at Vibe. Then, just to make her point, she reached out again and grabbed the little toy car as well. Blythe's fist doubled in size, and she crunched the toy into a crumpled ball.
"Welcome to the Sanctuary, Blondie. Next time, remember to bring a toll, not a toy," she sneered.
"Found something ya like, eh? Is cereal all you're gonna eat? Here. Try these."
Cailyn looked at the things that the girl wanted to get for her. They seemed to be strawberry's. Cailyn had them when she was young, atleast if they were real that is. Seemingly this other person wanted them too but the girl was sooner. The other girl was tall and had lots of metal on her face. It kind of scared Cailyn. "Get your own, Blythe," she snapped.
"You bet I will."
She grabbed Cailyn's food. She eeped at it because she might as wel try to hurt her or something. Not only did she grab her food she also grabbed her toy. The whispers started talking again that she shouldn't be bossed around just because she is smaller. And then the toy was crushed. She dropped her plate and her lower lip started trembling as if she was about to cry.
"Welcome to the Sanctuary, Blondie. Next time, remember to bring a toll, not a toy,"
"That was mine." She softly said to the girl with a very sad face. She slowly lifted of the floor and her hands started twitching. Her eyes went blank and a hymn was spreading through the room. "That was mine." She repeated only this time in a whisper. The girl that snatched the car suddenly started screaming and rubbing her body screaming :"Get them off , get them off!" Nobody but Cailyn knew that she now thought there where snakes and other creatures crawled over her body.
Cailyn's tray dropped, spilling her cereal and shattering the bowl. Vibe skipped sideways to avoid the mess.
"That was mine." The blond girl looked about to start weeping. However, the redheaded sonic was focused on other things.
Like Cailyn's feet beginning to lift off of the floor, and the strange song seeming to come from everywhere. Being especially sensitive to sound, Vibe noticed the melody a half-beat faster than anyone else. It made the hair on her neck and arms stand on end.
"That was mine."
Blythe began screaming, and jumping around, and Vibe quickly jumped out of the way. She couldn't see what Blythe was screaming about. Given their earlier conversation, the petite sonic assumed that Cailyn was messing with the girl's mind somehow.
But where was that singing coming from? It sounded like something out of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. She shuddered, and rubbed at her arm.
The commotion naturally drew the attention of others. One of Blythe's companions stepped forward toward Cailyn.
"Knock it off, Blondie!" He raised a fist to punch at her. Vibe reacted first, and sent her own hypnotic melody directly toward the boy's ears.
"Freeze!" she ordered in a low voice. He did so, arm still cocked to hit, blinking dully.
