The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raina recognized the diner right away away when she pulled the scribbled directions away from her eyes that Flloyd had given her. This was the diner where she and Raven met Mandain and Rupert. A chill ran through her as she stood in a white sundress with her red hair pulled back. She feebly pulled at the paper in her fingers. What was the big deal? This was just Flloyd she was going to meet. The same guy she'd been spending the past three weeks living with in a run down motel. It was the place that was bothering her. The memory. Why did he pick the place? Raina looked around remembering the pea-soup... remebering Flipsy. How was Flipsy anyway? She missed the little yapper.
Taking a big breath and telling herself to be a big girl Raina walked in and found herself a seat. She ordered the lunch special and waited for Flloyd to arrive. Every time the bells jingled from the door opening she looked up half expecting to see Rupert. No one yet. No one she knew.
She felt skiddish and when her food arrived she was all too relieved until she looked down at the green goop looking up at her. She grabbed the pepper and started sprinkling it on. She gave a sigh and tapped her nails on the table. When would Flloyd get here?
Flloyd entered the little bistro as quietly as he could. He appeared to be sneaking in but this sort of behavior was common with him. He knew that his very prescence would be felt but everyone in the place... a sense of fear, uneasyness, uncomfortable... he was dealing with each of their individual fears bombarding him as well.
Then he saw her, like a brilliant red ray of light glowing in a corner table. Being around Raina so much was interesting for Flloyd, everyday her fears seemed to change. Today she was scared that an oh-to-familiar cop would show up. Flloyd mentally kicked himself for not knowing that this place held a connection for them. Way to go. He was annoyed as well. He hadn't even met detective Rupert Kelly yet but the mans face was burned into his brain.
She still had that damned jacket with her. That urked him even more. She looked so beautifully sad sitting there. She had her freedom finally, she had her family... her tribe! She was still so sad and alone.
"Raina?" he asked in a quiet voice. "Hi." he sat down across from her and gave a charming smile while pushing his curls out of his eyes. "That swamp water?" he smiled mischeviously pointing at the goop.
"I'm glad you came." he admitted. It sounded like appreciation but really Flloyd wasn't sure if she'd show today. "I wanted to talk to you about a few things.... I need to figure out my place here. Especially if you're considering going back to the mansion"

Raina looked up at the sound of a man saying her name. It took her eyes and ears a moment to realize it wasn't Rupert but Flloyd- the man she was expecting to see. She shook her head a little and gave a smile. "Hiya." she chimed leaning over the table when he made a crack about her swamp water. "It totally is, they have a swamp out back." she tried to continue with the fasad. She knew about Flloyd's powers and she didn't like having him in her head. If that's what he indeed did.
"What do you mean your place here?" she asked. "If I go back to the mansion I'm sure you and Navi are more then welcomed to come. You could stay at your own place if you like. I'd like it if you stayed."
It was true. Flloyd was safety. Having him around had an oxymoron effect. He made you feel scared with his powers... but for her he was a familiar comforting face who wanted her to be happy. She needed that right now. She didn't realize she was pulling at the jacket again.
"Is that all you needed to know? I want you to stay. I'd be happy if you both did as much as Navi drives me crazy. It makes this place home."
Flloyd felt a little bashful and was happy to see that Raina wanted him and Naveed to stay- but it wasn't his real intention on asking her for lunch. "I wanted to talk to you about your music too..." he added. "but I also wanted to talk to you about something your brother and I are both concerned with."
he reached his hands across the table and took hers. They were cold. Ice cold, despite the colour in her cheeks. "Raina, you're so sad." he started. "spending all his time with you I'm able to tell your fears on a daily basis you know." he cleared his throat. "I wish you'd stop thinking about the cop, er, Rupert." his eyes were sad as he looked at her. He reached one hand up and touched her face. "You're still wearing his jacket for peats sake. It just doesn't seem healthy. You're so mopey and quiet all the time. I know the camps were rough but you're a shell of the Raina I used to know." he went quiet waiting to see how she'd take this.

Raina was caught off guard when Flloyd started to be so forward, It wasn't like him he was always so quiet. When he touched her it felt like liquid fire on her skin and when she looked in his eyes he saw nothing but comfort and kindness. When he touched her cheek she felt herself blush. He was concerned. He was concerned she was unhappy and that she wasn't following music. He was concerned. about Rupert. She suddenly broke out of his captivating stare and stole her hand back with a nasty look.
"Rupert lent me his jacket and I'm going to give it back again when I see him again." she stood up angrily knnocking over a glass of water by accident. "You don't understand. You can't possibly understand what it's like to love someone who will never love you because of what you are." she was breathing heavily now. "And you have no idea what the camps were like." her face was burning now and her eyes were filling with tears that threatened to spill over.
"I have no idea?" said Flloyd a little shocked she would say that given the circumstances, he stood up while she did. "I know exactly. Exactly what it's like to love someone who can't love you back. Don't you forget it." he stared hard into her eyes to get his point across then sat back down inviting her to do the same. "I'll leave that alone for now." he said casting his eyes away from her. "but I'd like you to try and spend some more time with me. Understand that I''m not a bad guy. Maybe even like me a bit." he gave a smile. "You might have to marry me someday."
The mood had drastically lightened after sitting down and making a joke but he half wanted to keep it intense and seriously ask her to marry him. It was foolishness... but maybe if he could get her mind off Rupert she might agree it's for the best.

The moment seemed more drastic when Flloyd stood up and became so intense. His power must have been taking affect because Raina felt scared. Her head was swimming and her cheeks were burning as he stared into her eyes, probably her soul.
Ok, point taken. So Flloyd knew how it felt. She quickly sat herself back down hoping he would order some food or change the subject. When he made the crack about getting married she knew he was half serious. She gave a fake smile.
"I think we should talk about something else and that you need to order some food. " she stated. "You said you wanted to talk about my non-existing-music?"
"Marry Me." were the words hiding in his mouth but he never said them. He just watched how she gracefully held herself despite the akwardness of the situation. "ok, well" he cleared his throat and sat back. "I think you should start singing publicly again. Maybe we can find you a mutant friend who can control the heat or the weather or something... but I think you're depriving the world of your beautiful voice." he knew she'd be bashful. "seriously. I mean, I think it would give you something to focus on since the camps..." he paused and waited for her reply.

Raina had to laugh. "Sing? Oh Flloyd haven't the camps and the act taught you anything." she shook her head. "I tried to sing before... it was alright. but now.. it would just be some sort of issue I don't need the stress."
She thought about it for a moment though. She had to admit she hoped her guitar wasn't destroyed back home. She'd have to investigate. She gave Flloyd a smile. "I'll play for you maybe, but 'till I get control of my power how about we wait on that eh?"
