The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Chris had turned up something quite remarkable. Apparently someone in Asia was utilising some form of advanced chemical weapon, along with vehicles of impressive speed, in an attempt to get to the Technology Jump Laboratories that he had seen destroyed over seventy years ago.
As Hunter strode into the war room he was planning how to react to this. Chris should already be organising a response team that would meet them in Germany, but Hunter wanted something a little more than soldiers on this trip. Not only would he be leading it personally, but a few Kabal members would be joining him.
First was Gearhead, chosen for the obvious reason that they were heading towards a lab with technology that would be advanced and likely dangerous. Her ability to manipulate machine could prove invaluable.
Second was Nox, whose light manipulating abilities could be used for a wide range of things, allowing for a great deal of versatility. Finally there was Shogun, who was not only a master swordsman, but as Hunter had discovered from Dr Ingram’s work on the man’s blood, would be able to sense every living thing around them.
With the team selected he took a seat and waited for them to arrive so he could brief them all on the mission.

One of Antonescu's employees had told Shogun that he was to go to thw War Room, and gave him directions on how to get there. Long before he reached it, he could sense Antonescu was already there, and some others were headed there too. Shogun stepped into the war room, and took a seat. He decided to wait for Antonescu to speak first, as Shogun himself had no idea what was going on.
She made her way through the intricate network of corridors heading for the War room, and though not entirely sure were she was, she had marked vast improvement in her ability to find her way round, for one she was moving. She didn’t believe she was to far away from the correct directions given to her by another scuttling, lab coated assistant. If I just take this right, and then the next left I should be back on track. She came to a locked door, the numbers of which she was starting to believe greatly outnumbered the open ones. Maybe a right in that case.
A surprisingly few moments later, she came to a door, Ah ha, Those who seek shall find, eventually at least, she thought as she pressed against the door. Hunter and the warrior from earlier were already seated. Hesitant to break the impending silence she simply nodded to Hunter, before she followed suit and sat herself down. She was eager, excited even; for she hoped this would be what she had been longing for – a chance to prove herself in the field. She was careful, however, to mask any feelings; she would need to be calm in order to pick up all the details. And she knew that feelings only hindered things, leading to mistakes, and so she buried them deep inside until they no longer pecked at her conscious. Instead, while waiting for Hunter to address them, she let her awareness into the room. Feeling the body heat and the constant hum of energy from various equipment below and around them, she waited.
Lifting her head from the electronic microscope, TJ rubbed her eyes and the bridge of her nose. While her project for Hunter was nearing completion, TJ still had her own personal project she was working on. Many years ago TJ realized and accepted that she was weak and frail of body. She also doubted that would change much anytime soon. Having seen how people are treated, where strength and constitution are prevailing factors in the world, she realized she would need something to help her, give her an edge so she wouldn't be so vulnerable.
Organic Physical Enhancement Suits: Opes. That is the concept that had crept into her mind after she had 'rebooted' one night. Of course the concept was much simpilar in thought than it was to design. Nerves, sensory 'organs', muscles, self regeneration, light but strong and durable. These were just a few of the things she would have to work out. The hardest part would most likely be how to link the suit up with the user, without the nervous system of one overloading the other or getting backfeed or mixed signals.
It was that exact thing she was investigating when she heard a few blips from the intercom near her desk. "...Wh...what the hell..." She looked up and around the room a bit before her gaze came to rest on the intercom. Raising an eyebrow, the most curious and confused look crossed her face. "What could that be all about? No one pages me....cept for Hunter...no...he doesn't even do that, he just walks in." Gearhead snickered and shook her head a bit. "Crazy rich guys." She said in an upbeat tone. Standing from her chair she walked over to her desk, stepping over the small wall. Doing a 180degree twist, she leaned back slightly and did a little hop, getting herself to sit on the edge of the desk enough to let her dangle her feet freely. Mentally she flicked the switch in the intercom, "Mmmmm...yeeeeeeeeees? What can I do for ya?"
"Mr.Antonescu requests your presence in the War Room." Spoke a man with a rather deep voice. His emphisis on the word 'request' told her that it wasn't really a request but an order. Sighing slightly, "Well of course he does......Wheres the War Room again?" She moved away from the intercom to her experiments and began to put them away. She knew where the room was, she was stalling for time, reluctant to leave her work. How did she know she'd have to leave her work? Because Hunter didn't come into her lab to talk to her. TJ didn't even hear the man give her directions, halfway through she waved her hand and flicked the intercom off bored with him.
Normally she wouldn't have cared what she wore durring a meeting, but she got a feeling this meeting was a bit more important. Before she headed out she threw on her rairly used, bleached white, long labcoat, a messenger bag which she put her laptop in, along with her headset. Her headset didn't just work in her lab, but nearly anywhere. It connected to her via neural interface, increasing the rate at wich she can transfer, create, and manipulate data, with any computer, as well as comunication to any device that uses digital data, cell phones, radios, most things now adays.
Gearhead scuttled off quickly, only stopping for a moment at Dr.Ingram's lab. "Dr.Ingram. Sorry to bother you, but I'm in a bit of a rush. I need a sample of your DNA, blood preferably." She didn't wait for him to turn around or respond before he headed to the War Room. When she reached the room she wasn't surprised to see others already there, and by the look of it, she was the last one that would be coming. She sat in a chair across from Hunter, pulled out and opened her laptop and put the headset on. Imediately she was interfaced with her computer and the computers in the room. "So, what brings we four together on this lovely day...err...evening," She looked from Hunter to Nox then to Shogun and then back to Hunter, "What time is it anyway?"
Hunter nodded to Shogun and Nox as they entered silently and took their seats. Gearhead soon followed, but less silently. “It’s mid afternoon,” said Hunter, answering her question quickly, “and I have a mission that will require all of your unique talents and abilities.”
Tapping a console a holographic image of the old Technology Jump logo that he’d found over seventy years ago appeared above the table and rotated slowly. “In 1932 I discovered a hidden laboratory which had technology decades ahead of its time. Upon discovering the location of the laboratory I saw it explode, and concluded everything of value destroyed.”
“Recent activity in Asia leads me to believe that something may have survived, and that someone is after whatever advanced technology the lab may hold. While the world has had time to catch up, there is still the possibility that some technological marvel is held inside.”
Tapping the console again a map of Germany appeared with a dot to indicate the lab’s location. “We will be leaving as soon as possible for Germany. Men and equipment are already gathering near the site and will meet us there. Very little is known of the enemy other than there movements and that they utilise an unknown chemical weapon. Any questions?”
Perfect. She was getting her wish - her first mission. Nox quickly summarised the facts in her mind: investigating a previously believed deserted lab, in the hope of finding new technology, no idea what they would find, no idea of who else was looking for it, and no idea why activity has suddenly started. Intriguing. Though ideally more information would have been helpful, she rather like the ideas of investigating a mystery, it gave the mission more depth; it wasn’t just a simple retrieval.
So she would be going back to Germany, its black forests had been a residence of hers for quiet awhile after she had come down from Sweden. She missed the sharp pine scent that used to greet her every morning, the sticky sap that fastened itself to her palm, and the gentle cushioning of long fallen pine needles beneath her foot. She anticipated returning to Europe with longing, it was far more versatile than here, and climatically it suited her better. It was, however, dull.
Questions? Clearly information wasn’t in high supply, and she doubted that Hunter would keep back anything of importance. She still, however, wanted to satisfy one possibility that had occurred her. “Do you know of any people connected to the original project who could be trying to get hold of some of their projects?” It was a long shot, she doubted employees list for a secret laboratory was public knowledge, but it was worth a check.
Hunter turned to Nox as she asked a valid question. Unfortunatly Hunter knew very little about the Technology Jump project, only the location and basic aims. However, considering that it was over seventy years ago, it was a reasonably safe bet that anyone from back then was either dead or decrepit.
“I do not know anyone who was connected with the project, but any who were would be over ninety now, if they’re still alive, and most people don’t age as well as I do. But you are right, it should not be ruled out. It is possible that the people going in may have far better intelligence than we do, but we will have the element of surprise, as I have taken every effort to ensure that our movements go unnoticed.”

Shogun blinked behind his blindfold. 1932? How many more mysteries are wrapped around this Antonescu? "So we are going to look at a destroyed lab in Germany that's over seventy years old in the hopes that something may have survived?" He wondered why Natonescu would be bothering, especially when he could have his many men do it for him, and more importantly, "And why do you need me? What use could I be in looking at some broken machines?" Shogun had never owned anything more complicated than his watch, so could see no reason for his being taken along. Unless it was dangerous? But how could it be dangerous? Unless it were to explode again, in which case he still wouldn't be much help.
“There are others heading for the laboratory,” Hunter explained, “and I expect conflict. Not only will you potentially see them coming before we do, but your combat prowess may be required.”
"I hope I'm not overstepping myself by saying this but, I think the machines and the lab are going to be my problem." Using the interface link, she added a small three dimensional image to the hologram that waved to Hunter, Shogun, and Nox, as she sat and smiled. Through the console the image spoke to Hunter. "You wouldn't happen to have any sample technology from the site would you? I might be able to familiarize myself with it a bit before we get there. Not sure if it will be of great aid or not, but I suppose any edge is better than none."
With a small thought the image of her disappeared, her laptop brought up the info on both Shogun and Nox. She looked at Shogun, knowing he would be able to tell she was looking at him. "You're able to sense living things around you, as well as have high combat abilities. You'll be a lookout of sorts as well as the first defense from what I can gather. Beyond that, if this place has some bio-tech, you MIGHT," She strained the word as she wasn't sure if it was even possible without going through is DNA and X gene, "Be able to sense the electrical impulses within it and locate it. Which would be invaluable I assure you." Looking to Nox, "You my dear, can see what we," She waved her hand indicating Hunter, Shogun, and herself, "Cannot. But in no way is that the only way you'll aid us." Her tone was light hearted and truthful as she gave Nox a wink.
She knew less about Nox's abilities than Shogun's and could only trust in Hunter's decision to bring her with. "I myself, am at an extreme disadvantage in a fight." TJ giggled a bit as she put another image into the hologram, an image of her in her normal clothes, showing how frail and ill suited to fighting she was. Of course this was mostly for Nox, as Hunter already knew, and she was sure Shogun would be able to tell easily. "I'll need all three of you to stop anyone who tries to interfere." The little image was gone again, as on Hunter and Nox's side a two dimensional images began to flash by one by one in rapid succession, "Don't worry too much though, I've got some 'toys' of my own."
She looked directly at Hunter. "Beyond that, I have no questions beyond: I've finished yours and the general defense, would you like it now or after we get back?" Gearhead was sure Hunter would catch her meaning. The other two didn't need to know what she was speaking of at the moment.
Hunter watched as Gearhead added to his briefing. He didn’t object, as she added nothing that he wished to be hidden, and offered the others some useful insights. “I’m afraid I don’t have anything from their lab to show you. As for the defence, it is unlikely to be needed in Germany, we’ll deal with it when we return.”
Rising from his seat Hunter said, “We leave in one hour. Gather any equipment you wish to take and meet me in the vehicle bay.” With that said Hunter strode from the room and went to ensure their transport there, along with the preparations in Germany, were all in order.
(OOC: I’m going to fast forward to Germany, but feel free to make any final posts as to what you do with your hour of preparation. Continued in Awakening Continued)
Dates. She almost all ways dismissed them, but he was indeed correct; the time scale would make it extremely difficult for an old employee to return. Her mind, however, still believed that there must be some connection, friend, family etc., since otherwise how did this person know A.) where the lab was, and B.) that there might be something worth stealing. Dates… Her mind clicked, as two previously discarded pieces of information fitted together: “In 1932 I discovered ” and “most people don’t age as well as I do”. Hunter was at least ninety years old. She had to admit she was some what taken back since she would have guessed his age as no more than the early twenties. She then realised that never before had her mind even touched upon the subject of his powers, a subject which she doubted was spoken about at all.
The warrior then asked his question, it surprised her that he would even question his placement on the mission. Missions- the sole reason why she was here. But then she mused, everyone must be different, everyone must be here for their own reason. How many were simply bought by the money? How many are like me, and just here for the fights? And clearly Hunter wasn’t about personally go ambling around Germany, if he himself wasn’t convinced there was a valid reason.
The girl then began to speak, clearly she knew what she was talking about, and it seemed the technology was going to be left in her capable hands. As she addressed her she wondered how much the girl knew abut her, with her abilities in mind seeing in the dark wasn’t exactly the most powerful. Her tone, and wink, however, suggested that with her limited knowledge she was just trying to be friendly, which was nice, irrelevant, but nice. As the girl talked about the need to be defended, and showed her image, Nox's mind quickly assumed that her powers clearly didn’t lie within physical ability, which from her appearance Nox would have judged, but then, when it came to mutants you could never be sure.
An hour? Nox remained seated for a moment or so after Hunter left letting the information sink in, and then she too, with a small nod at the others, took her leave. For the minutes were being eaten into, and there were some trivial matters she had to see to. Namely, since she had everything she would need already, the fact she had last eaten yesterday and doubted there would be food stops on the way.

Shogun showed no emotion, but they were there again. The ripples. The girls must be a mutant too, as she sent them outwards, and directed at the machinery in the room. Yet, it seemed to direct the machiney to do something towards empty space, but nothing was there. He paid closer attention to the other two in the room, and noticed that they seemed to register something in that same spot. Interesting. He had already sent several pulses, and all of them had gone straight through. He'd have to talk to someone about this, though maybe later. He had more important things to worry about. Like how the girl was able to know about his abilities. This was something that he would have to speak with Antonescu about, as he didn't like people knowing how his ability worked, and as far as he knew he was the only one who did.
He didn't bother giving anyone a nod, but bowed respectfully to Antonescu before leaving. He would bring his armour, and a few weapons. His knew sword and his bow and arrows were top of the list to be taken.
