The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Will you let me ride you?” Katrina asked Dove. “I’m not very heavy you know.” She looked back at Shogun. “You know, I think if she can carry you with your armor on she can probably carry both of us now. Do you want to try?”
She continued to think about good and evil. She wasn’t sure if she believed that there was someone who was truly as evil as Shogun said. Everyone must have a little good in them, although she couldn’t see souls like Shogun could, so she couldn’t completely discount the possibility. Either way, Katrina wasn’t sure she would ever want to meet someone who was almost fully evil either.
“If there are no fully evil people, I suppose there are no fully good people either. I wonder which part of me is the evil part.” Maybe it was the part that concealed parts of the truth from Kitra. Or the part that didn’t mind spying on a meeting.
“Do you think there is a chance that someone who was once evil can become truly good? Do you believe they can have a second chance to start over?”

"Isn't it a little late for someone so young to be up? I know that when I was your agge I wasn't allowed up so late." She continued on about good and evil, and Shogun contemplated searching for whatever part of her was evil, but decided against it. Showing a small child their own evil was probably not avisable, and he was fairly sure her parents would agree. Speaking of which, "Where are your parents? They're not here with you, are they?" Sensing family relationships was easy, and he was sure he would have been able to sense the love between her and her parents if they were there.
Katrina made a face at Shogun that he couldn’t see when he mentioned her bedtime. Here they were having a nice grown-up conversation and all of a sudden he was reminding her that she was still a child. Maybe he was tired of her questions.
“Lots of kids my age stay up this late,” she defended herself. “Besides I couldn’t sleep because my legs hurt. They felt like they got stretched too far and wouldn’t stretch back again. Maybe I am growing taller or something.” Hopefully that was the case. At 4 feet 8 inches, Katrina was shorter than all the other girls her age back at school, and was the last of her friends that hadn’t gone through a growth spurt.
“Umm, my parents are at home in Virginia.” At home; she still considered it her home too, even though she wasn’t exactly welcome back by at least on parent.

She didn't seem impressed at his mention of a bedtime. she must have forgotten aboutthe pain in her legs whilst they were talking, because he hadn't noticed it, but now that she had mentioned it he could tell it was there. Then she asked him where his parents were. "I havn't see my parents for a while. I lived with my grandfather for most of my life." As in straight after he was born.
Despite her insistence that she was perfectly fine staying awake until the wee hours of the morning, Katrina's body had other plans. Fully without her permission, it chose the middle of Shogun's sentence about his parents to let out a big yawn, protesting her wakeful state.
"Sorry," she apologized, covering her mouth with her hand. She could stay awake as long as she wanted to, take that Body. "What country was that in?" Katrina could tell he was from out of the country, but wasn't knowledgeable enough to place his accent. It was kind of cool sounding with all the "L" sounds turned to "R" sounds. Katrina liked the collection of accents at Mondragon Labs, including a flirty down-under accent, a biting german-ish sounding one, and quite a few Yankee ones.

She gave quite a mighty yawn, and Shogun decided that whilst she was too stubborn to go to bed willingly, she would likly collapse anyway. "I'm from Japan, and you need to return to bed." He ignored any objections, "And if you don't go, you'll be too tired to ride Dove." That ought to get her to go. It had actually worked on him many a time. As she skittered away, he gave Dove a reassuring pat, and headed for his house. Truth be told, he was sleepy, too.
