The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Upon entering the labs, the things that she had done so far? Kitra started ticking things off with her fingers. 'Well. she got lost.... ' Her forefinger came up, 'Asked for directions to her room,' now her 'middle finger came up, 'managed to get lost...again'. Ring finger, ' Asked for directions to the training rooms....the ones inside,'] Pinkie finger, 'and she of course....got lost,' Her thumb came up as she shook her head wearily, 'Why was she so good at getting lost? Well, gee, makes me wonder if that's my ability and not bringing my sketches into being....'
Kitra was so busy berating herself that she ran into another person with an "Ooof." She immediately backed away and apologized. Upon inspecting this guy, she realized that he was a guard and curiousity got the better of her.... "Excuse me. May I ask where you might be going and if perhaps there might be an outside training ground?"
He was surprised that she spoke to him. 'Well, she did just run into me. He sighed, "The training grounds outside? That's where I am heading." He looked at her again, 'It looks like she's been getting lost.' "If you want, you can follow me there." When he finished speaking, he started moving.
Kitra grinned happily and followed him through the labs and outside to the grounds. He disappeared and she looked around for a practice field for archery. 'I haven't practiced for awhile and it sounds like fun right now.' She grinned again as she spotted the practice field and noticed that they had a weapons shed right there... With a guard of course.
The guard eyed her and asked if she wanted to use the archery equpiment and of course she had said yes....
Kitra smiled happily, she now had a bow and a quiver of arrows. 'I haven't practiced in a while... Hopefully I still have something worthwhile for skills left.' She eyed the targets they had up. 'Seems to be 50 yards, 75 yards and 100 yards. I think I shall work my way up.'
She notched her string and 'twanged' it a few times. ''Bout right,' she nodded happily and sighted. She pulled back and let loose. She walked down to the target and frowned, 'Dang, I was half an inch off of the direct center.' She grinned with determination as she walked back to her starting point. 'I will keep this up until I get a bulls eye....or if I'm inturrepted.' She shrugged then sighted again, 'Whichever comes first I suppose.' Kitra pulled back and let loose.

Long before Shogun reached the archery range, he knew Kitra was there. Someone else was there too, and from his lack of movement he was probably a guard. Shogun wasn't wearing his armour, he instead had his normal clothes on. Normal being what is considered normal in Japan; Americans seemed to mistake it for a dress. Shogun had also brought his own longbow, and the arrows that his grandfather had taught him to make.
He stepped up to the archery range, and went for the 100ft target. Archery was much harder than sword fighting, as his target wasn't living. "Is the bullseye in the direct centre of the boss? Or is it off-centre compared to the stand?" He couldn't see what was on the target, which was why whenever his grandfather made them he made sure that the bullseye was in the exact centre. That way, he could just aim for the middle.
She was not happy. The draw on this bow wasn't heavy enough. Kitra walked over to the shed and came out ten minutes later. She held a long bow, a short bow and a compound bow. Each had a draw of 35 pounds. Kitra walked back to the 75 yard target and stopped. There was a box like thingie sticking out of the ground. She noticed a button that read 'Target modification 75 Yards', she pressed it. The target moved forward and stopped about a yard short of where she would have been standing if she was shooting. It sunk into the ground and a human shaped target appeared in its place.
Kitra grinned wickidly and pressed the button again and it went back to its orginal position 75 yards out. She walked over to the target's area and gently set down the long bow and short bow. They were both unstrung, as she didn't want to stretch the strings and render the strings unfit for use when she got to them. As she strung the compound bow and sighted, she was stopped short from firing when a familar voice made itself heard.
"Is the bullseye in the direct centre of the boss? Or is it off-centre compared to the stand?"
Kitra slackened her string and spun around to face Shogun, the arrow on the bow facing towards the dirt. "It's exact center." She looked at her watch and her eyes widened in surprise. It had been almost three hours since they had gotten back from Japan. "So Shogun, I take it the sparring session with Hunter went well? I hope that you will stay in New York for awhile longer." She cocked her head slightly, "I would like to learn more from you."
With those words she turned and faced her target again, brought her bow up, sighted and loosed the arrow. She smiled satisfactorily as she heard a 'thunk'. She was aiming for the middle of the neck, the intestines in the abdominal area, and the heart. She drew another arrow from her quiver and placed it on the string, brought it up, sighted and loosed. She did this once more and then proceeded to walk to the target to check her accuracy.....

Shogun nodded. His bow had a 50 pound pull on it, which is less than the 80 pounds of true longbows. The reason for this was because with an 80 pound pull, you couldn't hold the draw long enough to aim. He notched an arrow to his bow, pulled it back, and loosed it. A pulse, even at 100ft was enough to confirm; he'd hit the exact centre. He notched another one, and fired it. It thunked into the target millimetres from the first. He fired three more arrows, then stopped because Kitra had started walking towards her target. "You really should warn people when you're going to collect your arrows. Especially if the other archer's blind."
Shogun took the chance to head up to his target, where the arrows were so close that he could pull all five out in one go. He closed his fist around them and removed them from the target, and then headed back to the shooting line. He would have tried to split the arrow, but he wasn't sure if he could, and he didn't want to damage his arrows. Getting the first one to hit the exact centre of the target had been enough. "I'm going to be staying in America for a while. I'm going to work under Hunter's guidance." Shogun notched another arrow, and waited for Kitra to step back over the firing line.
You really should warn people when you're going to collect your arrows. Especially if the other archer's blind."
Kitra chuckled, "I'm was sure you would notice and the targets are far enough from each other. Also, I didn't think you would miss your own target, even though you are without normal sight." She had gotten to the target and was happy to see that she had hit the neck directly in the middle, as well as the stomach, her guess if it had been a real person she would have opened up the bladder, and she had also hit the heart but it would have been just a nick. She had been a centimeter off of the direct center. She frowned at that but was definetly pleased with her other hits.
"I'm going to be staying in America for a while. I'm going to work under Hunter's guidance."
Kitra smiled, "That is excellent." She was now at the firing line again. She notched an arrow, sighted, and loosed. This time she aimed for the neither regions....She had nothing against guys, she was just curious if she could hit it....

Shogun noticed where Kitra was aiming. He had learnt how to tell, from people stance and where there arms were, roughly where they were aiming. Either he was off, or she was just being mean. Or childish. He guessed the second one. He loosed another arrow, and it hit the exact centre again. With his longbow, he could score the same hit if the target was moved back another 100ft, or sometimes even more on a good day. Something only decades of practise brought about. He began firing more arrrows this time, and they were all hitting within millimetres of each other.
....And it hit, right where the nether regions were attached to . Kitra tilted her head to the side, "I didn't think I would hit that. Hmm, I think I will put black circles on my target. Make thinhgs more challanging....Hopefully." She hadn't realized she had been thinking outloud. She turned slightly red and looked over at Shogun. "Sorry, I wasn't meaning to intrude upon the silince. I am going to walk out to my target. Please feel free to continue with your practice."
Kitra strode out to her target and pulled a sharpie out of her pocket and placed random black circles on it. She nodded in satasfication. This would make it a bit harder and it would test her sight as well.
She walked back to the firing line and looked over at Shogun. "Shogun, how did the match go exactly? I have sparred Hunter myself but....." She trailed off, she knew that Hunter had gone very easy on her. "....Did he spar you at full strength? I mean, could you tell if he sparred you at full strength? I'm sorry if I'm annoying you but...." Kitra now stared at the ground and shuffled her feet slightly as she waited for him to yell at her or actually respond.

Shogun noted where the arrow hit. Either she was good, or she was lucky. What she said made it sound lucky. He continued to fire arrows, all of them hitting as close the bulls eye as they could, never more than an inch off. He nodded as she went to get her arrows; with his aim, she was only going to get hit if he wanted to. Then she started talking to him. "He's a formidable opponent. I didn't think he was holding back at first, then he seemed to draw from some pool of inhuman strength and speed. I didn't stand a chance." Samurai are proud, but not to the extent that they lie about duels. It was a fact; Hunter had superhuman powers. "Is he one of these mutants you were speaking of?" Throughout the time he was speaking, he had fired off a few more arrows, and despite talking to someone, they were still just as accurate.
"He's a formidable opponent. I didn't think he was holding back at first, then he seemed to draw from some pool of inhuman strength and speed. I didn't stand a chance.
Kitra nodded, "You faired better then I would have in an actual match with him. If it hadn't been a training session....well....I wouldn't have been able to do anything at all." She frowned, "I don't think he was actually trying either." She went silent and looked at her target.
"Is he one of these mutants you were speaking of?"
She brought up her bow, sighted and loosed. "Yes, he is. He is very powerful."She sighted and loosed again. "I really have no idea how powerful though." She frowned and sighted again and loosed. She did this five more times. She realized she had no more arrows and sighed. "I'm getting my arrows."
Kitra walked out to the target and nodded happily that her arrows had hit the exact center of each of her circles. Grinning, she removed her arrows and walked back to the firing line.

Shogun picked up his last arrow, and loosed it. He walked with Kitra towards the targets. "How many mutants are there?" Ok, so she was good. He pulled his many arrows out of the target, and then returned to the firing line. As he lifted up an arrow, he frowned in annoyance. One of the flights had come off. He'd need to fix that, but unfortunately his spares and tools weren't amoung the things he brought with him. He laid it to one side, and then continued shooting arrows at the target, still with the same unerring accuracy.
She noted that Shogun was very accurate. More accurate then she was. After they got back to the firing line, she walked over to the shed and grabbed more arrows. She walked back and was greeted by a question.
"How many mutants are there?"
She chuckled, "That's a very good question. No one really knows. But now....." She trailed off thinking of the Registration Bill.... "Under Hunter's employment, my guess would be about ten or so. I know of a few myself." She knew of Tris, Zephyr...from Tris, she still wasn't sure if Calley was actually human or not....Shogun of course....ah Jebidah....and Sapphire, who had saved her from serious injury or .....she didn't want to even think about what else could have happened.....otherwise she had no idea.
"In New York, there are quite a few. This I do know, iv'e met many of them. Most of those encounters didn't end well though....." During the entire time she had been speaking, she had sighted and loosed her entire quiver of arrows. She sighed once again. Kitra looked upwards and noticed that the light was starting to fade away. "Shogun, the sun is starting to go down. Are you going to continue or...? She trailed off not sure what to say.

Shogun nodded as she spoke. He continued shooting all the way through as well, continuing his almost unnatural accuracy. Then hs ementioned the sun going down. "light makes no difference to me. I can hit a rabbit at over a hudred feet in pitch black." He knew this for a fact. He'd done it. Several times. Hitting living targets was incredibly easy for him. "I assume you are going stop when it gets dark enough. Unless you want to be hunting for your arrows most of the night." He realised that he had run out of arrows now, and went to collect them.
"Light makes no difference to me. I can hit a rabbit at over a hundred feet in pitch black."
Kitra tilted her head in Shogun's direction, "I thought that the sun setting wouldn't matter for you. I thought it polite to ask anyway." She pointed to his target, "By the way, your aim is excellent."
"I assume you are going stop when it gets dark enough. Unless you want to be hunting for your arrows most of the night."
"I may, I'm really not sure yet. I believe Hunter would have lighting for the grounds....Especailly the training areas." As if to prove her point about Hunter and his efficency, the area around the targets, the firing line and the area between the targets and the firing line light up with dim lighting and they got brighter as the night grew darker. She smirked, "I think I will stay for awhile longer. As there is now light."
As she was out of arrows, Kitra followed Shogun out to the targets and retrived her arrows. She was happy to note that once again she hit the circles in the direct center. Walking back to the firing line, she unstrung her compound bow, setting it down before walking over to the box thingie sticking out of the ground. She once again pressed the button labeled 'Target Modification 75 Yards'. The target came forward and went back to a circular target. She pressed the button again and it went back to its original position.
She picked up the long bow and frowned thoughtfully looking at it. After a few moments she set the longbow down and picked up the short bow. She hadn't dealt well with the short bow when she was younger and thorefore had avoided it. Perhaps she would do better now. Seeing that Shogun was back to the firing line, she strung the short bow and notched an arrow, sighted and loosed it.....
......And it didn't even hit the target, she was off by a foot. It had gone far enough...just not in the right area to hit the dratted target. She growled unhappily, very displeased. To take her mind off that horrible performance she glanced over at Shogun, who happened to be doing just fine....well excellent really. "Shogun, how long have you been using archery? I've been practicing this art since i was young." She trailed off then snorted, "And I am nowhere near your level." To prove her point, and to her exreme annoyonce, the arrow she had just fired managed to nick the target's edge...

Though he couldn't tell, he guessed that some sort of lighting must have come on. As he continued firing arrows, he noticed Kitra change the target back to a normal one, and change bows. She was now using a short bow, and her aim had decreased dramatically. Shogun had only ever practised with a samurai longbow; he doubted that he'd be as good with anything else. "My grandfather began teaching me archery when I was five, and I have done at least two hours practised almost every day since. Most days I get in around five hours, sometimes I spend a whole day." Shogun was very strict on his training, as there wasn't alot else for him to do up in his mountains, and so would practise with various weapons all day, only stopping to eat and sleep. He imagined that Kitra did alot less. He had an advantage over most people; he was entirely unaffected by day and night.
"My grandfather began teaching me archery when I was five, and I have done at least two hours practised almost every day since. Most days I get in around five hours, sometimes I spend a whole day."
She nodded, her stongue sticking out of the corner of her mouth in concentration. "I've been studing since I was old enough to hold a bow." She paused, trying to figure out when that was.... "I think I was five years old when I began my studies of archery. I also studied horseback riding." She smiled, "I didn't practice horseback riding and archery at the same time though usually. The few times I had to for competitions, I did fairly well."
She sighted and loosed an arrow and it actually hit the target, but nowhere near the bulleyes. "That does explain your unnerrening accuracy." She sighed and sighted and loosed, hitting the target an inch further in. She continued to do soo until she was out of arrows and walked out to her target. Upon getting there she noted that her arrows looked like they were marching inwards, half an inch appart. She walked back to her target and started anew.
