Skin Tone: Painfully pasty white
Eye Color: Green
Height: 5’3’’
Build: Slim with little to no muscle tone at all. She’s a bookworm not a gym bunny.
Visible mutation: None
Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: None, she's never been allowed to pierce her ears and she assumes that it would just be healed away unless she kept them in at all times, tattoos are even more forbidden than piercings since the Marshals don't want her to have too many identifying characteristics, and her healing factor has taken away all the scars she accumulated as a child
Other features:
Everyday clothing style: Bell wears a uniform every day to school, extremely uncomfortable with picking out her own clothes besides it. She wears a blue blazer that has a golden crest on the left side with an ‘X’ in the middle. A white button down shirt is under her blazer with a dark tie. She wears dark slacks and black shoes.
Uniform: See above
Sleepwear: Oversized t-shirt and pajama shorts
Miscellaneous clothing: If you have pried her out of her uniform then she’s likely wearing the ugliest oversized grey sweater you have ever seen, sweatpants, and glasses.
Character
Personality: Bell is one of the sweetest and shyest people you’re ever going to meet. She’s a people pleaser at heart and doesn’t hesitate to do whatever it takes to brighten up someone’s day. She carries around a bag of homemade chocolates to give out to anyone in a rough spot or that she sees that she likes. At her old school she used to put little presents in lockers of other students to give them something to look forward to, always signing it as ‘Bell’ even though that was not her name at the time.
Despite her occasional stutter and near inability to look strangers directly in the eye Bell is a strong person. She stands up for others when she needs to and only has a minor heart attack while doing so. She’d rather talk out a problem than fight but has without a doubt gotten into a tussle or two on her own.
Bell has major anxiety problems stemming both from her past and the fact that she is transexual. Her parents were never supportive of her identity when she lived with them and even the US Marshals who are in charge of her case have told her to be a boy or else. Terrified of losing the protection of the Marshals she’s shoved herself so far into the closet she’s having tea with Mr. Tumnus.
Bell rarely gets angry, frustrated is another matter but truly angry is something reserved for the biggest of bullies and most scandalous of criminals. She won't hesitate to kick the shin of a big meanie being a big meanie head towards someone.
Hobbies/ Interests: Baking, sweet making, knitting, crocheting, floral arrangement, books, calligraphy, Pokemon, art, animals, playing the fiddle
Job or part time job and description: None though she’d love to work in a bakery
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: People finding out she’s a girl, being stuck in the closet forever, being stuck in witness protection forever, spiders
Special talents: She’s an amazing cook and spends a good amount of her freetime in the kitchen baking up desserts for fellow students. She’s also a speed crocheter/knitter and can make a hat or a scarf in a day and a blanket in a week. She likes drawing, isn’t a master or anything but she’s good enough. She can also play the fiddle decently well.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good, she’s disney princess style good. She can feed wild geese potato chips she’s that painfully obviously good.
Mutations
Mutation description: Bell is a healer after a fashion. She has a decently strong empathic ability that lets her discern if someone is in pain and little control over the fact that pain draws her in like a moth to a flame to fix. Her mutation allows her to take on the pain of others and put it onto herself, taking bodily wounds and transferring them to her personage. From there her body uses a healing factor to fix the wounds, but it isn’t an instantaneous process and takes several seconds to kick in. Often leaving her in pain until the process is complete.
Strengths: Healing factor that takes care of most what would be mortal wounds to her body
Bones heal in hours to days depending upon the severity of the break, minor fractures take about twelve hours while complex bone shatters take a week
She can heal older wounds and piercings, if it caused pain upon getting she can fix it
Her empathy range is about 20 to 30 feet around her and she can identify all emotions, which causes overload problems and is the main reason why she's at the X Mansion
Weaknesses and Limitations:
She needs a LOT of calories to fuel her healing factor
She suffers from overloads of emotions that leave her frazzled and unfocused with the occasional migraine
She feels the pain of all the wounds she takes and can sometimes hesitate taking on bigger wounds because she doesn’t want to bleed
She cannot cure illnesses such as cancer or genetic disorders, all she can do is alleviate physical symptoms
She cannot affect other people’s emotions just feel what they’re feeling
She must be in physical contact with a person to heal them
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: She has the strength of a consummate bookworm and the stamina to match. She does not run the mile in school even at the threat of a failing grade and is only as flexible as an average teenager.
Fighting Style: Flailing kicks and punches are about Bell’s ability when it comes to fighting, she is unafraid to get nasty and pull hair or bite but in all honesty why would anyone be fighting this beautiful precious darling baby girl?
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Slight surprise on the flail fighting con in that just about anyone trained in actual fighting could probably take her out in no time flat
History Of Your Character
Bell was born Saemus Murphy only son and heir to the infamous Murphy crime family in Boston. She always knew that she wasn’t like all the other boys, she wanted to wear dresses and play house rather than go out to little league and get dirty. Patrick Murphy didn’t know what to do with his son who repeatedly refused hair cuts and preferred the company of animals to other humans. He left Saemus’ upbringing to her nanny Annie and her uncle Finn.
Annie and Uncle Finn indulged her in her games of house and desire to make cookies. They let her hair grow out though they put their foot down on dresses and makeup. She loved that time in her childhood being pampered and loved by two people who didn’t judge her.
At school she wore the boy’s uniform and kept her hair in a neat little ponytail. The nuns adored her for her manners and genuine care she exhibited towards her classmates but they couldn’t approve of how feminine Saemus was. Her classmates didn’t bully her but neither did she have any friends, everyone was too afraid of her family to try and get close.
Saemus was twelve when she found out about her mutation. She’d always been intuitively empathetic towards just about everything she came across but one night when Uncle Finn came back from a bad day at work covered in bruises and breathing hard she could feel his pain quite literally. Confused she went to hug him to make him feel better and as soon as she touched him something strange happened. Uncle Finn’s wounds disappeared but the black eye and cracked ribs he had had were now transferred to her and it hurt. Tearing up and starting to panic she felt Uncle Finn’s panic start as well when the pain grew sharper then started to ease. The bruises began to fade and her ribs fixed themselves. They held onto eachother for a long time in silence.
“You cannot tell your father this.” Was Finn’s first words to her about her mutation. Patrick would only use her for his own gain instead of letting Saemus live her own life. He knew that from personal experience as a mutant himself working as a hitman for the crime family. Saemus understood and for the first time realized that even Uncle Finn was scared of her father.
It was six months of hiding her mutation before the FBI raided their home. It was a mess, Saemus’ father took her hostage and negotiated with the agents on scene to get a safe getaway only to be stabbed by her father in the getaway car as loose useless baggage and dumped on the side of the road. Patrick Murphy got away but the rest of his family was not so lucky.
Saemus was surprised when during the trail of the Murphy’s that Uncle Finn never came up. It was only when the myriad of uncles and cousins got convicted that Saemus learned the truth. Finn had been an informant for years, risking his life to put his elder brother behind bars. His deal was simple, get a life with Saemus and he’d help bring the Murphy’s to their knees. With almost everyone in jail the FBI kept up their end of the bargain granting Saemus and Finn new identities and lives. Saemus finally got to pick her name switching it to Bell the secret handle she’d been using for years at school to give her classmates notes and tokens of friendship.
Bell had to cut her hair and put on more masculine clothing for her new identity as Bell Barnes the only son of James Barnes a widower. They moved from Boston to Middlebury Indiana, setting up a small house by a lake just outside of town. Bell went to the closest private school, a concession by the Marshals to allow Bell the same level of education she was always used to (by very cranky nuns).
Several years passed by in peace. Bell was certain she was going to live her life near her new father and grow up to be a successful small town baker (and eventually convince everyone that she was really a girl). Unfortunately Bell’s mutation had other plans. As she grew older her ability to sense people’s emotions grew stronger, causing her anxiety attacks and horrible headaches. It grew to the point where she couldn’t attend school she was so overwhelmed.
James contacted the Marshals and asked for help. He’d dealt with his own luck mutation all his life on his own he had no clue how to handle an empath melting down. The Marshals asked if he’d be willing to risk their lives in order to help Bell. After some thinking and consulting with Bell they agreed to try what the Marshals planned. So off to New York Bell was sent to be a kid at the mutant school. Bell is entirely unsure what to do here and misses her dad terribly, but if they can make life more bearable then it’s worth it.

Geese were misunderstood creatures in Bell’s humble opinion. Certainly they could be vicious when guarding their territory and the toothy beak was a bit like God wanted to smite you but they could be reasoned with easy enough. All you had to do was have potato chips.
“Hello pretties! How are you today?” Bell called out to the wild geese near the pond. She rummaged through her bag of potato chips and took out a handful waiting with amusement as the wild devil birds honked and made their way towards her. It was chilly in the park and Bell had put a large coat over her uniform to stay warm. She wished she could make something for her new friends to help them stay warm but she wasn’t handy enough to build bird boxes large enough to fit geese. That was even thinking that the geese would go in to the bird boxes to begin with.
“Mr. Hissyface don’t be rude.” Bell gently scolded a large goose that shoved it’s way to the front of the line. She didn’t refuse it potato chips though, delicately placing one into the gaping toothy beaked maw only to watch it be eaten quickly. Mr. Hissyface asked for more and Bell found it hard pressed to deny it.
“You’re going to get fat.” She murmured affectionately as she placed another chip into the goose’s mouth. “Don’t blame me if you get too round to fly.”
