The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The icemancer wasn’t exactly sure what to say. He stared at Cora for a second the smirked. ”I’ve been late to my sessions before.” Sam didn’t like to be late for them but stuff came up. Besides, it was too early for most kids to be up anyways he only picked this early to mess with them.
‘Fine’ he knew that word and knew when anyone said it they weren’t.
Sam lifted his tethered hand towards Cora to show off the red thread, ”Sides, kinda hard to run around with this glaring at me.” he smirked at Bruno letting everyone know he was there, Sam responded with a lean backwards onto the bed to scratch Bruno’s belly. A few more ‘thumps’ echoed from the bed.
”Did I lose a fight? Who against?” he asked practically scoffing, ”Doesn’t sound like me.” he lied trying to cheer her up a bit. He had lost fights before and usually would be the first to admit it but it seemed Cora was pretty shaken from her nightmare and he liked acting ‘tough’ for his girlfriend.
Scratching Bruno’s stomach he asked, ”I’m your man. You got me all day today. You want to order in you got it. So you’re going to tell me about this nightmare of yours at some point.” his stomach growled a bit thinking about breakfast. It was rare Sam took a day off. Maybe they both needed it.
He wasn't leaving. Cora hated that something so simple rattled her, but nothing could shake this sensation that the danger had been real, and something really had gone wrong. "I'm sure your students will give you an earful for not showing up. They seem to do that anytime an adult doesn't show up on time...like an excuse to get away with it themselves. Not that I ever used those excuses.." she smirked.
Settling back she looked at the string, looked at the ceiling and grumbled. "Like, everything kept going wrong. There was a car, and a fire... Maybe you didn't lose the fight? Maybe that's the problem is it was just random accidents."

The icemancer chuckled. ”You think? Pretty sure I can make it up to them by making the next one that much more intense.” he clenched a fist. ”They’ll just use it as an excuse to go back to bed. I’m sure.” he reached over and rubbed Bruno’s belly again. He responded with a heavy sigh and a leg kick.
”I’m sure you were a model student.” he quipped with an eyeroll. ”Some of us didn’t get an option of skipping.” he sighed, ”Was kinda forced to go.” he recalled.
”......” he recalled his own dreams, flashes of fire. A car. A shooter. The one thing he remembered was her. Seeing her. ”I think I saw something similar. It’s foggy.” years of trying not to remember his dreams or nightmares made it easier to forget them and harder to recall. ”It didn’t seem too out of the normal ones. You were there though.” he smirked slightly, ”It was a welcome addition.” he squeezed her hand.
”A bunch of random accidents? Doesn’t sound random.” his life was too chaotic to be random. ”Don’t think we were attacked psychic. Ice clones would have appeared right?” he asked looking around. He was probably too casual with that statement. When they appeared due to a psychic attack they usually were ready to stab him.
Sam looked back to Cora, ”Did you..." he ‘snipped’ motioned with his fingers.
Sam had an enthusiasm about training others that made her smile. While she didn't exactly like working with kids, her experience at the rock climbing gym did teach her to appreciate watching people learn. Her boyfriend acted tough on his students, but she felt he did it for the right reasons.
"Maybe it's fine calling it off today then. So long as they aren't getting it too easy."[/b she remarked acting thoughtful.
Cora didn't have much chance to respond to his jab about her attendance record when he finished by a comment about his own childhood. Cora made a face, "We turned into mostly adult adults... Model students or not." it was early, and conveying her thoughts was difficult. She gave up and resumed her attempt at being a starfish and taking over the bed, throwing an arm across boyfriend and dog.
Then Sam said something that made her pause and look at him. "You saw...something similar? I don't think I felt anything psychic but...I did snip a thread last night....You don't think I caught anyone's attention, do yoga? it would explain why it all felt so traumatic. She felt her anxiety rising and the weight of Bruno shifted to try and calm her again.

Sam offered a smile, ”I have been known to do some adulting from time to time.” he said with a little chuckle, ”Not today though.” he reached for his phone and sent out the text. ‘Something came up, use this as an opportunity to challenge yourself without me being there. Don’t go back to bed!’ he knew how it would end up though. They’d more than likely ‘challenge’ themselves to go back to sleep.
”Today my adulting is making sure nothing happens to you.” he said feeling the task one he could handle. Though he had a strange sense of dread. The feeling must have been left over from the nightmares. Sam felt the weight of Cora’s arm then laid back down next to her while she spread out in the bed. ”and I was top of my class.” he forced a smirk.
Bruno’s massive head adjusted till it was relocated on Cora, his eyes reached over to Sam and he let out a large ‘huff’ then closed them again. Sam reached up and patted Bruno on the head and then returned his attention to ‘starfish’. ”I see a lot of stuff similar to that, often. More weird you had similar dreams.” he said thinking about everyone he could that was capable of creating nightmares like that. There was a name he couldn’t recall. One he knew was important. The person had caused him a lot of pain in his life.
”I mean, I’ll remember them shortly right?” he asked curiously knowing she wouldn't’ do anything permanent unless she asked first. ”Must have been someone serious to help me sleep.” there wasn’t much point in dwelling over something he couldn’t remember if it was going to come to him later anyways. Turning his head to face her and cracking a sly grin, ”How will we spend the time?”
