Zelda nodded. SUPER was definitely on there. Most of the sites presumed that much and even more so of the MROverse. It was a safe assumption. People were paranoid in that group - including Zelda. Which, Sveta saw her paranoia first hand. 

She nodded again. That was quite a safe assumption, "And I don't even trust the government on our side not to pull that kind of sh*t."

She laughed, "Oh yeah, totally. No touching at all." She smiled. Sveta was a perfect mutation to use in her research but that dream was long gone... Zelda was still in grief over it, but she knew things would fall into place.

She sighed, "Yeah, it's really sh*tty. I'm lucky I found him when I did - it was really soon after it happened." She got lucky. He got lucky. It was a remarkable coincidence that it even happened, "We didn't even know until a few weeks later." She shook her head, "Yeah, it's pretty disgusting what people will do to their kids... Granted, I did give him up. If I hadn't..." She frowned, "It was the right thing to do at the time." Regret clearly ran across her face. He wouldn't have to worry about his mutation if he was with her. 

Zelda was not only a researcher, an exceptional scientist, and a kind, smart human being, but she was also a mother. It was almost poetic, how she found her own mutant child just at the time when most of her life's work had gone down the drain with SUPER's intervention. It was a strange sequence of events, but also one of those times that made Sveta almost believe that things happened for a reason. Especially because she would have never gotten away from SUPER without Zelda's help.

"Very lucky" Sveta agreed with a nod "Sometimes things just... work out dat way."

Everyone had those moments in life. Some more than others. Sveta had definitely had her fair share.

"You can't blame yourself." Sveta shook her head with conviction "It was a different situation, when you gave him up, and you did what you thought best. No one can really judge people until they have to face something... like a mutant kid." she smirked "But now we can judge them all we want, and yes, it was a sh**y thing to do. I am glad you found him. How is he taking it?..."

She nodded, "Yeah... Pretty wild, honestly." She still had moments where she couldn't believe the turn of events that happened. In either case, it had happened so she shouldn't really be all that surprised. 

She nodded and gave her a weak smile, "You're right... It was a really sh*tty thing, that's for sure." She smiled at her last question though, "Really well, actually. I do have him seeing a counselor every month. Granted, so am I. I figured it's only fair." She chuckled, "But he's excelling so far here. Making friends. He's... Still, culture shocked, for sure. Misses his previous family. But adjusting well."

The kid had been through a lot. Really. Sveta could barely hold it together for weeks after her kidnapping, and she was not only an adult, she was also a trained vigilante. Manifesting powers, getting kicked out, finding a mother... the kid had a lot to deal with in his short life so far.

>>"Really well, actually. I do have him seeing a counselor every month. Granted, so am I. I figured it's only fair."

"I hear the school counselor is good" Sveta smirked. She had never gotten around to visiting her, even though she probably should have. Maybe she could talk to Devon about counseling services at Haven. Noel and booze only went so far for one's mental health...

"Dat's good to hear." Sveta nodded "Kids are flexible. I am sure he will be fine."

If someone did not blow up the school in the meantime. No need to go there.

"So... you have a new job, then?" she asked "I mean... I know I took some time off. Like, really off... needed some time away from people."

She nodded, "I heard that as well, but I haven't met her just yet." While Zelda was happy to see Sveta alive and well, it was strange. Only a few months before and she was a doctor, working on secret research. She was a kidnapped, forced to work for SUPER, in a secret branch of the CIA from a parallel universe. How strange the world worked.

>> "Kids are flexible. I am sure he will be fine."

She nodded her agreement, although clearly still worried. He was adjusting but what if he was pretending to her? Kids did that sometimes. Acted like they were okay but slowly fell apart. Fell into drugs and crimes... Okay, maybe Zelda was overreacting a little bit. But being a mom was not in her plans, really ever. And yet, here she was. Suddenly.

She sighed, thinking about her employment history. "Yeah... I work here now, actually. Genetics & Biology." She sighed again, "I don't blame you... I took some time off. I had to take my mother back to Oklahoma, so we spent some time there. Recouped. She's still... Recovering. Nate helped me out here and kind of just... Starting over. They finally just... Left me alone. For now, at least."

>>"Yeah... I work here now, actually. Genetics & Biology."

Zelda found her way to the Mansion. Svetlana really believed that it was a good place for her, and especially her kid. Even if her research was shot, she had knowledge that was unique, and not many others could have it; she would be great help to the school, and maybe use some of what she knew, in some way. Once she was ready to do so, of course.

Sveta bit back her first answer. She doubted SUPER would ever leave anyone alone. They might be biding their time, or taking a break now that Zelda's research was gone; but Sveta very much doubted that they did not still keep a file on her, just in case. There was no need to bring that up, though.

"Dis place is good, for starting over" she smiled instead "Sometimes I which I could have stayed... but living in my own place, it's better for everyone. You'll meet good people here, I think you already have. Maybe I can visit sometimes? See how you are doing?"

She smiled, nodding. "I think so, yeah. Hopefully, things will stay... Calm." She perked a brow and nodded, "We're all meant to be in our own places." She smiled. She was right - there was some very good people here, people much better than her. Most were. The kids especially. Granted, it broke her heart for the ones that were here because of their parents disowning them, or due to some type of awful things that happened.

"Of course, please visit. I'll be sure to visit you if and when I can. We have to stay in touch."
