The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Today had certainly turned out to be a day of surprises. Booker hadn’t expected a simple errand like this was going to wind up with him meeting one of the most influential people in his life. It was a most unexpected surprise, but a pleasant one at that. And, as it would turn out, Gemma Taylor turned out to be a pretty cool person! He was always afraid that whenever he met people he idealized that they would turn out to be jerks. While he doubted that was possible for her, it was within the realm of possibility, but it wasn’t the case.
Sitting here, warm coffee in a mug in his hands, he earnestly thanked her for meeting with him. Adapteds were only a concept he had heard about until he came across her AMA. Now that he actually was meeting another person like himself, well, he didn’t feel so alone in the world anymore. That, of course, would earn the woman a friend – so long as she were willing to have him as one. However, since she had already said that she was available any time to talk, he would was more than grateful to take her up on said offer.
Of course he wouldn’t abuse the privilege. Not. At. All.
>> "I am glad we met too…So... you mentioned that you work at a library?"
He perked up and gave her an excited grin. Booker tended to be a humble person but if there was one thing that the man absolutely loved to talk about, it was his work. After all, he had spent the vast majority of his life studying and prepping for the field, so why not talk about it whenever it was possible? At the end of the day, he was just raising awareness for his chosen institution and that meant the world to him.
He nodded his head eagerly. ”Oh yeah! Duh. Sorry,” he apologized for leaving such a detail out. ”I’m a librarian over at the New York Public Library,” he grinned. ”On of the best libraries in the world, if I do say so myself.” He took a second to sip. ”I work reference, give tours, so on and so forth. If you ever want set up a fieldtrip for your kids here, I’m sure I can help set you guys up.”

There was obvious pride in Booker's voice and eyes, and he did have a lot to be proud of. The New York Public Library was famous, and Gemma herself loved it a lot, for the setting as much as for the service the kind people who worked there provided. She wondered how long Booker had been working there. She was sure that he made an excellent librarian, with his friendly attitude and easy smile, for people who felt a little lost among so many books.

"That sounds great, actually" Gemma smiled "We could always do with more field trips, especially at the library... Our staff tends to come and go, for various personal reasons, and it is hard to herd the students together for things like that..."
It was true, Booker absolutely loved his job. He loved the idea of being a guardian of knowledge, but helping to spread it out amongst the populace, and whomever needed it. That was one of the things that struck him while he was in school for his chosen career, that librarians like him were gatekeepers of information, people who wanted nothing more than to protect it and ensure it got into the hands of people who wanted it. No ignorance would stop them, they were the enemies of ignorance and Booker liked to think that, in some small way, that made him a bit of a superhero.
Still…it would have been nice to bench press cars or fly through the air, but he would take whatever he could get.
Gemma seemed spurred on by the knowledge that he was a librarian. The look on his face must have been enough to convince of just how much he enjoyed his work because the smile he received in return was just as radiant. Again, that made him happy. He was always glad to meet people who could respect his field. So few did these days.

He grinned. The idea of having mansion kids wandering around his library was an endearing one. Booker of course only wanted to do his part in the educating of youths, hence the reason he offered the library for field trips. Sadly it seemed as if staffing was difficult to come by. Unfortunate but he was sure that if Ms. Taylor really wanted it to happen, she could make it so.
”Well I’m sorry to hear that about the staffing situation,” he said. ”But the offer stands indefinitely. Just give me plenty of notice, even if it’s just a few of the kids, and we’ll make it a great tour for your guys.” He held his hand over his heart. ”Scout’s honor.”
Not that he had ever been a scount but it was a gesture, nonetheless.
