The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character
Personality: Reserved, calculated, stubborn and strong willed are words that describe Alex quite well. Life hasn’t been easy on her at any point in her life – while it explains why she isn’t the nicest person around, it had also made her resilient – it’s little the life can throw at her now that she wouldn’t be able to handle. And there’s little she wouldn’t do or hadn’t done in order to survive. She’s charismatic, people are easily drawn to her and over the years she’s learned the art of manipulating this to her advantage so well that it had become her second nature. Use or be used, kill or be killed – she deals in extremes and rarely even tries to find the middle ground. Even if this attitude might make her seem reckless at times, one can rest assured that she never jumps in head-first – she had first made sure that the odds are at least slightly tipped in her favor. She doesn’t trust easily and she doesn’t share anything personal with people that are outside her inner circle. Unfortunately, over the years, her inner circle had shrunk to being almost non-existent, mainly due to her preference of keeping everything and everyone at arms length. Under the strong façade she’s quite lonely, insecure, hurt and afraid – too much to be considered a mentally healthy and happy person; she’s been in defense mode for so long that she doesn’t know how to act otherwise. Hobbies/ Interests: music, drawing/painting, reading; Job or part time job and description: Formerly: Kabal agent, spy, part time job in the Masion Infirmary; Currently: artist, art consultant, art gallery manager, soon-to-be art gallery owner; Fears/ phobias/ concerns: deep waters, being hurt, losing, her memories; Special talents: drawing/painting, fast reader, speaks several languages – Romanian (native), English, French, Spanish (they are taught in Romanian school) , Russian (spent several years in Russia).
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral, with a tendency towards bad due to her self-centered, survival-driven nature. Let’s just say her morally gray area goes deeper than other people’s.
Mutations
Mutation description: formerly: mutant with the ability to manipulate molecules; currently: human; Strengths: n/a Weaknesses and Limitations: n/a
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Above average for her female her age and build, nothing inhuman. The physical capabilities of someone who trains consistently. Fighting Style: Although she’s had some formal training in various fighting styles (including the basic notions of use of fire arms), she’s hardly a professional in either. For two years she has been training in MMA – mostly for workout purposes and as an outlet for any pent-up emotions. Also a fan of yoga, for her peace of mind and increased flexibility. The increased flexibility also nicely fills in the gaps for the increased strength (limited by her build) that MMA usually requires. Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Due to her limited strength, her technique is mostly for defense.
Misc. Owns a dog (a pug) named Loki.
History Of Your Character
1989 – Born to Tiberiu and Maria Kettler; 1990 to 2000 – She was a happy, normal child. 2001 to 2002 - Her father became a wealthy politician while her mother continued to focus her energy on raising Alex and her sister Ana. While she had everything a child could ever wish for, after the change in his career, her father became stricter and more demanding as he considered their image as individuals and as a family vital for the advancement of his career. 2003 – Just before her 14th birthday party, her mutation of molecular manipulation manifested. An unfortunate accident ended up with Alex falling into a pool while her swimming skills were minimal at best. The fear of drowning and the adrenaline rush triggered her powers – she turned the water into vapors in mere seconds. As the mutant status was viewed with suspicion by the general population and whispers of a Registration Act were spoken behind closed doors, Alex revealing herself as a mutant was a hard blow for her father who depended on the popular vote to be re-elected. After much deliberation and one of many to come canceled birthday parties, Tiberiu demanded his daughter that she would never use her powers again. 2004 to 2007 – It was a game of 'pretend it didn’t happen' that Alexandra didn’t want to play. In the greatest secrecy, she began to practice her powers. Researching her powers soon led her to the Underground – a group of rebellious, mutants with a tendency for supremacy of the new subspecies of Homo Sapiens. She turned rebellious and began to display a blatant disregard toward humans, including her parents. Her parents continued to play the game of play-pretend they seemed to enjoy so much and preferred to call it a phase of her teenage years rather than address it. 2008 – The Mutant Registration Act was voted and was soon to be adopted. Tiberiu Kettler was a strong supporter of the Act – as a PR stunt and wishing for the mutant population to go in the Camps without much resistance, he decided together with Maria to out their daughter as a mutant and register her, conveying the message that she Camps are safe enough to handle his own daughter – what kind of monsters would let their own offspring go there if they were as bad as rumored? Unfortunately for them, Ana overheard the conversation and warned Alex about their intention. Scared and disgusted by her parents, Alex ran away from home, seeking shelter with the Underground. Her parents declared her a missing person, without mentioning the fact that she was a mutant to the media. Shortly after, the Registration Act was adopted and one by one the Underground members were hunted down and taken into the Camps. The remaining group decided to flee to New York, with the hope that the larger mutant community there would be able to help. As they prepared to leave, she separated from the group as as a missing person and daughter of a preeminent public figure, she needed to take extra precautions to disguise herself and avoid drawing attention to the group of fugitives. Unfortunately, the rest of her group was caught and Alex was the sole person that managed to escape imprisonment. In New York, in one of her not so fine moments, she managed to get herself into a high-speed chase with other mutants and attract a lot of unwanted attention. On the bright side, thanks to her 15 minutes of fame, she was found and recruited into the faction Kabal by Hunter Antonescu, a fellow Romanian. During a mission in Tibet, she was injured and spent the rest of the year in a deep coma. 2009 - When she woke up, she discovered that the Registration Act had been repealed and the leadership of the Kabal had changed. Slate, the new leader offered her the opportunity to continue to work for the Kabal. She accepted – after all, it paid well enough. Her new assignment – to play the goody-two-shoes, join the X-Men and spy on them. At some point during the year, she found out from a tv interview that her father was running for president back in Romania – and, despite the fact that the Registration Act was repealed, he tried to reinstall the Mutant Camps (under a different name and supposedly other purpose) as part of his campaign. Hurt and wishing for vengeance, she made a decision – to end her father before this could happen. While participating at the Colombian take over as a Kabal agent, she took a detour to Romania and visited her parents. While a part of her wished that her parents repented their actions and saw their mistakes, she only found more pain there. Her own mother was also a mutant – one that not only betrayed her own kind but her own flesh and blood. Her father reconfirmed his hatred for mutants and told tales of the torture that other Underground members had suffered through in the camps. Alexandra snapped. She killed them, set her former home on fire and left Romania, thinking it would be for good. Little did she know about the repercussions her actions would cause. Her mission at the Mansion began to affect her, as her targets slowly became her friends. She questioned herself – her ability to be a friend, her ability to be a professional. It seemed she failed at both. Also during her stay at the Mansion, she developed a relationship with the X-Man Sam Johnson aka Cold Steel - it only added pressure on her mental state. As things progressed and affection turned to something more, she began to question whether she was good enough for him – after all, she was only acting to be good. He truly was. She was only a fake. At the end of the year, her actions in Romania caught up with her. The death of her father, a presidential candidate at the time of his death had pushed the human population over the edge and they attacked the mutants. The reformed Underground pushed back, wanting revenge, and soon, a full blown war was raging on the once peaceful streets. The Second Registration Act came, and mutants were declared a public threat. Despite being told by both Kabal and X-Men to stay back in New York, the guilt and responsibility she felt she should take for her role in the matter made Alex to go behind their backs and follow both factions to Romania, having her own agenda – to convince her former brothers and sisters in the Underground to step down and attempt negotiation. On her own, she managed to do little to improve the situation. While the Order, the baddie mutant faction of New York supported the terrorist actions of the Underground, Pacifica, her former friend and leader of the Underground refused any conflict resolution that didn’t involve mutant supremacy. Seeking support from both the Kabal and the X-Men, they managed to subdue Pacifica with a loyalty command implanted in her brain by Slate and help mutants hop borders to more mutant-friendly countries. Unfortunately, Slate considered the Parliament bombing the Underground had been planning to be beneficial for the Kabal and let it unfold as planned. During this bombing, she was caught and taken to the New Camps, along with many of her friends – considering herself guilty, she spiraled into desperation and depression during her stay. Also during her stay, she found out that the New Camps had been run by her father – now, his second in command – a guard officer named Cristina Stix had taken over and from upon arrival made sure that the camps were Alex’s personal hell unless she gave up the inheritance from her father. Stubborn and wanting to know why Stix wanted so badly her father’s inheritance, she refused to comply with Stix’s request. She broke down completely when Stix caught wind of her involvement with Sam and tortured him – leading to his eye being removed. She managed to maim Stix horribly in the outrage following Sam’s torture and almost got herself killed in the process. The torture she endured in the Camps, both physical and mental, left heavy traces on her psyche. After a month, the members of the three factions in New York that hadn’t been captured in the Parliament bombing or the aftermath organized a breakout and helped release the prisoners. During her escape, Alex managed to kill those who have wronged her and find out the purpose of her father’s Mutant Camps business – under the disguise of a safe holding facility, mutants were being trafficked as slaves to the highest bidder. Even after gaining her freedom, she was too broken to go back to her old self; she broke up with Cold Steel, even though she had realized that she was in love with him and cut up all ties to her friends, considering herself responsible for their suffering and for the fate of the mutant kind in Romania. She decided to stay back in Romania for a while and help rebuild. 2010 – During her stay in Romania for almost 5 months, Alex (as daughter of the late senator and presidential candidate Tiberiu Kettler and a mutant) was the face of the PAX academy of her country – the first institution that specialized in human-mutant peaceful coexistence. While there, she hunted down and neutralized all those who had any ties with her father’s slave business. She returned to New York in May – only to find herself blackmailed by Roland (who’d managed to get his hands on some rather incriminating material on her while escaping the camps) and the Order to kidnap the X-Man Silver Streak and steal the X-Jet. With her conflicting feelings for Sam confusing her even further and after a failed attempt to retrieve the incriminating materials from Roland, Alex decided to flee New York for some time and attempt to find her sister (whom was also discovered to be a mutant back in 2009 and disappeared on her after a short reunion – supposedly running away from the Order with some boy). Most of the year was spent trying to locate her sister. Eventually, the trail led her back to Romania where Ana had returned to pay her respects after their parents’ death but was captured by Cristina Stix, taken into the camps and sold to the Russian Bratva as a weapon, along with many other mutants. 2011 - She managed to infiltrate the Bratva – unfortunately, she wasn’t able to breach the upper echelons who were aware of the mutant slaves. Growing desperate to find information and help her sister, she did things that haunted her, even more than her experience in the Camps – only to find out that her sister was declared MIA during a mission in 2010. Broken in pieces once again, finding herself haunted by the things she has done, all in vain, she let herself be consumed by revenge and her powers. She declared war on the Bratva. 2012 – While the Bratva considered her at first only a nuisance, after she managed to get to a few of the upper echelon members, she became a serious threat to the organization. While she held her ground admirably thanks to her powers, Alex was after all a one-woman army. She was captured – the Bratva tried to persuade her to their side, wishing to have a molecule manipulator in their inventory but Alex was far too immersed in her wish for revenge to even consider it for escape purposes. Eventually, they found the perfect solution to their problem – a mutant with the ability to fully absorb other mutants’ powers. With Alex’s powers in their hands, they attempted to dispose of her as soon as possible. Her instinct for survival kicked in and yet again she managed to escape her death sentence and go into hiding. But she was utterly alone in a hostile country, with nowhere to go, powerless, haunted and consumed by her emotions. 2013 – She spiraled into depression; every attempt to get herself back on her feet ended up with her being slapped in the face by the harsh reality: she was completely useless. She failed to find a purpose and, ultimately, she had only one choice remaining – end the pain. But it was up to herself how she did it. She refused to let death be the ultimate pain killer. Instead, she decided to wipe away every memory and build herself a whole new life, free of pain and guilt. Using the services of a telepath, she locked away the memories of her old life and everyone in it. She woke up in a hospital, with no idea of who she was, only the new and fake identity she had conjured up before removing her memories – Alexandra Dimitri. Along with it, a few hints she had let for herself on how to live her new life. She pursued art, one of her old hobbies, finding solace in drawing and painting. But even though she failed to remember a single thing, the scars of the past were still there. In the back of her mind, there was always something missing, something holding her back, something she was afraid of and it haunted her. 2014 to 2015 – Alex accepted the fact that her memories were gone and became concentrated only on her art and her career – from the first exhibition as an artist, to art consultant to landing a job as an art gallery manager. She even got herself a dog. She had something akin to a normal life. But as her job took her around the world, looking for art, she found herself flying to New York on a few trips. The feeling the city gave her was strange – it felt familiar, somehow. 2016 to April 2017 - At last, she decided to try her hand at owning her own gallery in the city that never sleeps. After getting her visa approved, she spent most of the year attending business classes, flying back and forth between Moscow and New York, wrapping up things in Russia and preparing to move for good to New York. At the beginning of April, the transition was complete and she stepped foot in her new apartment in New York. And for the first time in forever, she felt like she was in the right place.
Roleplay What’s your OOC alias?: Circe Where did you learn about this site?: Google, a few years ago. Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: n/a. Sample RP: New York was so darn expensive.
In the end, that was about the only pertinent conclusion Alexandra could reach after studying the stacks of papers laid on the table. Rent, employees, advertisement, taxes and everything in between. Although she was well past the point where she asked herself ‘what have I gotten myself into?’, she still found herself worrying of what was to come from this adventure. After all, she had invested almost every single penny of her savings into this art gallery. She sighed, pushing the papers aside and leaned back into the chair, stretching her legs under the table. There was no point in looking over the papers over and over again, as if the secrets of the universe laid there, waiting to be discovered under the endless strings of numbers and legal procedures she needed to comply with. Her eyes slid to the couch, where Loki was snoring softly with no care in the world. “Huh.” She grunted. “I thought I told you to stay off the couch.” She muttered, pursing her lips. Loki continued to snore as his owner’s comment went unnoticed. “Riiiight.” Alex concluded. As if Loki ever cared about what he wasn’t allowed to do. Talk about a dog’s personality resembling its master’s. Her stomach rumbled. Alexandra glanced at her watch – 1:04 am - and realized she had skipped dinner. And yoga. And a shower. At least she had gotten around to walking Loki before drowning herself in papers. She walked herself over to the fridge hoping for some left overs. But hope was futile. A half empty can of dog food, an apple and a half empty bottle of wine. She could add shopping for groceries on the list of things she skipped on this evening. Retrieving the bottle of wine and the apple from the shelf, she closed the fridge door and got herself a glass. Behind her, the distinct sound of paws on the floor could be heard. She turned her head and smiled at Loki, who was now stretching and yawning while looking at his master. Or rather, the apple in his master’s hand. Loki, always the one up for a snack. By the time she reached the kitchen counter, Loki was by her side, patiently waiting for his treat. She cut the apple in four and peeled off one piece. Waggling his curly tail, Loki happily accepted her offer and munched on it greedily. Alex bit into her own, chewing on it slowly while managing to simultaneously uncap the bottle of wine and poured herself a glass. Loki, having finished his piece by now, stretched again, pawing at her foot to get her attention. Alex glanced back at him, snapping from her thoughts and, swallowing the lasts bits of her ‘dinner’, bent down to take Loki under her arm. Glass of wine in her other hand, she walked over to the window and placed Loki on the sill. Wet nose on the glass, Loki tilted his head watching the little lights dancing in the street with curiosity while his master absent-mindedly petted his head. Alexandra too, watched the lights, even if they didn’t hold as much entertaining value as for Loki. She took a sip of her wine. “I hope we make it.” She muttered into the glass.

Character
Personality: Loyal, dedicated and with strong beliefs, Lexi can’t really be persuaded to see things from a different perspective. There’s always that air of superiority surrounding her – she knows better, and she isn’t afraid to tell so. She needs to feel in control – sometimes extending that control to people she might care about. She’s disciplined and can asses a bad situation without losing her mind – she’ll always decide based on what is needed to quickly gain control and fulfill the objective. She’ll always protect those unable to protect themselves first; if there’s a way to reduce any type of casualties, she will take it but protecting the humans and completing the mission always come first. She doesn’t really ask many questions – a mission is a mission – unless it’s mass genocide, she trusts her superiors to know what’s best for the country and human kind. Hobbies/ Interests: most revolve around improving her skills – practicing judo & kickboxing, psychology, foreign language proficiency, firearms, driving. She indulges in some high-adrenaline activities from time to time, just to test her limits. Might have an interest in diy, but that’s a secret she’ll never tell. She can drive a motorcycle just as well as a car. - Speaks Romanian (one parent is Romanian, she has been taught in childhood), Arabic and Russian (she learned them – wanting to be a CIA agent for as long as she could remember has made her to focus on those skills that were valuable for recruitment). - Is pretty flexible – years of gymnastics in school.

History Of Your Character
1975 to 1988– student and mutant healer Tiberiu Kettler fled from Romania to the US to escape the growing oppressions of communism. He settled in New York where he soon began his studies to become a doctor. While in University, he met and fell in love with Mary Adler, an adapted human, interested in Politics and political activism. A few years later, they married. With Mary’s career flourishing, the couple moved to Washington, D.C. 1989 – twins Alexandra – “Lexi” and Adrian were born. 1990 – with the existence of mutants becoming public knowledge, Mary began to focus her attention on mutants’ rights. She soon opened up her home to mutants, becoming a foster parent for unwanted mutant children in the system, knowing that her ability to nullify mutant powers might come in handy. 1991 – with a mutant parent and mutant foster siblings constantly around, it was only a matter of time until the twins’ adapted aura was triggered. 1992 to 2000 – Lexi and her brother had a relatively normal childhood, minus the occasional telepath telling their parents that it wasn’t the mutant children that ate the whole cookie jar or even the occasional window broken in the middle of the night by the winged teen trying to sneak out. 2001 – Roby Miller, a teen fire elemental entered their home. It was very clear from the beginning that he had little control over his abilities. Things catching fire when Mary or the twins weren’t around became a common occurrence. Although Mary made sure to focus her attention even more on the teen, unfortunately, it took only one moment for Roby’s powers to go haywire. One fateful night, while trapped in a nightmare, he set his room and the house on fire. While Mary and Tiberiu managed to get the twins and the other foster siblings out, Mary insisted she had to go back and save Roby – her nullifying ability would help. Slipping past Tiberiu, she entered the burning house. Neither she or Roby ever came back. As authorities came, Tiberiu, unwilling to ruin his wife’s lifework, lied that it was an accident and told the children to support his story. Even if the Kettlers never opened their home to mutants again, Lexi had made up her mind – those who possessed the x-gene were a danger to themselves and others. 2002 – Her father began to drown his sorrows in alcohol; until then a famed surgeon, he soon had to retire from practice because of the alcohol abuse and Lexi was forced to see him ruining his life. 2003 to 2007 – Lexi had made up her mind. She would dedicate her life to preventing mutants from harming themselves and others. She set her eyes on a government job – CIA, to be more exact, and spent the following years preparing herself – gymnastics, learning difficult languages, judo, kickboxing, anything that looked good on her resume. 2008 to 2013 – She gained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, soon followed by a Master of Criminal Justice studies, with a specialization in Homeland Security. By the end of the year, she was recruited into the CIA; her status as an adapted helped her to speed up the recruitment process. 2014 – she spent a year training to become a CIA agent. 2015to present – she worked as a full CIA agent for a year, until she was moved to the SUPER branch of the agency. She had been working as a SUPER agent since then.
