The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Groovy" Daydream said as she fell asleep in her arms. She couldn't help but fall asleep with a bit of a smile on her face. She was so tired. All she wanted to do was close her eyes and embrace the warm feeling crashing over her.
The following morning....
Daydream had a restful night sleep. For the first time in a long time she felt as if she had actually slept. It didn't help matters however when she woke up to the terrible sight of a message on the wall. Daydream's eyes cracked open and she immediately let out a scream. Her astral body wasn't in the room. She went out. Strolling around the streets just thinking about what had happened. What it meant. She couldn't spent a whole night lying in bed trapped inside her own head, she needed air. Time to think. She didn't see when their room had been invaded through the night.
"Glad you kids had fun last night! Come on down to Gavin Sinclair's Cirucs of Curiosity and wonder! You'll have more fun than you ever thought possible! We're all anxious to see you,, and getting a little impatient."
The words seemed to be etched into the drywall. Did he watch us last night? She thought. The blood curdling scream still fresh on her lips. Daydream scurried back against the headboard clutching the sheet to her body. Elsewhere her astral body had been cutting a piece of birthday cake. She had broken into some random families home and was raiding their fridge. She found birthday cake and helped herself. When she woke up the knife was transported back to her body. She was holding it in her hand when the sun had gently kissed her awake through the open window.
Daydream was naked beneath the sheets clutching the covers and the knife. She didn't even realize the knife was in her hand she was so distracted by the messge on the wall. It looked bad though. It looked as if maybe she had carved the message herself and forgotten to put away the knife. Gavin and his mutants were here during the night. Maybe through the night. Who's to say they didn't have n invisible mutant. She could turn invisible it wasn't impossible.

Geo had slept soundly. An unusual occurrence when he slept above ground. Of course this had much to do with the red haired woman he shared the bed with. The elemental had wrapped himself around her during the night, he was a subconscious cuddler, Though the comfort was short lived. The scream from Daydream brought Geo into a full state of terror. He was on his feet, still on the bed before Daydream had fully backed herself into the headboard of the bed.
"You have to be f***ing kidding me..."His eyes examined the lettering with terror. The words carved into the wall drew a chill of terror down his spine. They were still being watched. The two had been so caught up in one another towards the end of the last day that they had let the impending danger around them slip to the back of their minds. But the moment was over and the world had come crashing down around them. His eyes ran over it again and again, carefully examining the lettering before he turned to look at the woman curled on the bed below him. It never occurred to him to think that Daydream would have been responsible for the lettering though the sudden appearance of the
"Daydream." He stepped onto the floor, sitting back down onto the bed and pushing himself over to her. "Here just, give me this. It's okay. I've got you, they aren't getting their hands on you." He gently went to take the knife from her, wrapping his arms around her in an attempt to comfort her. His lips pressed against her forehead as he held her close. That was the last straw. He was taking care of this circus...today. The storm had broken through the night, daylight shined through the open window casting light on the morbid scene.
The elemental climbed to his feet, drawing shut to curtains so as not to draw any attention from anyone outside. He then crossed over to the wardrobe and pulled out his back pack. Digging into the dusty bag he pulled out a pair of short and promptly pulled them on before he made his way for his pants crumpled onto the floor. In the pocket he retrieved the business card that they had found on the floor after Gavin's first visit. The water from the rain seemed to have smudged the address some but Geo could still make out the details.

Daydream looked down when he took the knife from her hand. For second she stared at it confused. For the life of her she couldn't remember how it had gotten there. Then she remembered. She was in that house during the night. She had watched a copy of 'Dude where's my car and drank some wine in a strange man's recliner. She even went in there and sliced the first slice of someone's birthday cake.
She didn't care if someone woke up when they heard the movie playing, she was invisible. She had woken up as she was going back to the kitchen for a second slice. She woke up with the knife in hand.
Daydream was sitting on the bed. She watched Tristen getting dress, though she made no effort to. Her eyes glued to the taunting words on the wall. We'll never be safe. We'll never be safe from them until....She knew that Tristen was right. He was never going to stop until he ended him permanent. Kendra's body slipped out of bed.
She clutched the sheet to her naked form as she crossed the room. She started to slip on some clothes when there was a knock at the door. Daydream let out a startled shriek. It took her several mintues to realize that it was someone knocking on the door across the hall. She was so jumpy, so nervous. She knew this hd to be done but she didn't want to face Gavin Sinclair. The very thought of his creepy smile was enough to send a chill down her spine.
Daydream slipped on a pair of jeans and a lightweight tanktop from the drawer of spare clothes. She pulled her hair out of her shirt and caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror hanging on the wall. She saw the deep bruise there from Tristen's teeth on her neck.
She felt her heart sink to the floor as she felt the guilt wash over her. Emily. She thought quietly. Tristen was saying that the circus was going to get dealt with today. She didn't want to go, but she figured they were going to have to face it eventually. "Ok, let's go." She said. Fully intending to go with him.
Daydream slipped on her boots that were still damp from the rain. She tied them tight sitting on the edge of the bed. She was scared, but she knew that nothing would happen to her when Geo was around. He wouldn't allow anything to happen to her. She wasn't foolish enough to think that he loved her in such a short amount of time, but she knew there was something. She felt it too.
There was an unspoken connection. They had only known each other a few days but it felt like a life time. She felt connected to him in a way that she couldn't explain. She didn't know what last night was, the start of something amazing or some wonderful mistake, either way she knew that Tristen wouldn't let anything happen to her.
He heard Daydream moving behind him as he finished getting dressed. A simple black sleeveless shirt slid over the words 'Homo-superior' on his back. The words felt heavier with Daydream around so he was happy to clever them back up. As he pulled his hair up into a loose bun his eyes were fixed on the words once more. 'Glad to see you kids had fun last night!' The implications disgusted him. Here he had found something special int he embrace of the beautiful woman behind him. It made him sick at the thought of them invading their private moment. Then came another sudden shriek. Geo whipped around to face the door, fists up and at the ready. Much to his relief it was only Daydream, still jumpy from the recent invasion. He offered her a weak, warm smile as he went to work on gathering the wet clothing and muddy sheets from the night before.
His eyes couldn't help but linger on her for a moment as she got ready for the day. He still could feel the magnetic pull to her though he couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness coming from her. There wasn't a bit of him that regretted the connection he had formed with her, but he knew it wasn't as simple as that. She had a girlfriend, and he wasn't her. But that didn't take away from what Geo felt, only made him feel bad for the girl it would inevitably hurt. But as Daydream spoke to him his ears perked to the sweet sound of her voice, not screaming this time. He sighed slightly, she still wanted to tag along. The thought of it made the elemental uncomfortable. Worst come to worse he had a contingency plan. An idea to help keep her safe from harm, even if he couldn't take Sinclair down. Walking over to where she sat on the edge of the bed Geo crouched in front of her. Dried dirt from his feet flaked off to the floor as he did so, finally brittle since the rain the previous night.
"Daydream. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you." His wide eyes looked deep into hers as he spoke. His hand found it's way onto her cheek. "I don't know what this is yet. But I do know that you are something special Dreamboat...Kendra. I don't want to risk you to those..." He forced her human name through his lips to express his seriousness in the matter though lost his words in frustration. Looking at the floor for a moment he heaved a sigh and looked back to her again. Leaning forward to press his lips into hers.
The feeling was like a new drug. One that held an addiction he would happily fall into. The taste of her lips bringing back memories of the night before. Pulling away he lowered his hands onto her waist to wrap her into a half-embrace. He wasn't much one for knowing boundaries and in his own mind those had gone out the window the night before. Maybe he was overstepping, given her relationship status, but Geo was always one to act on more of an impulse.
"Unless you suddenly develop laser vision I think you'd be safer here. You are a beautiful, wonderful and amazingly talented woman. There are a thousand and one things on this earth that you could probably do better than me. But this is something I know, and I know that this probably isn't going to end pretty." It was a numbers game, and they had the numbers. The only tricks Geo had up his sleeve was his training as a lethal mutant weapon. He knew how to use his powers at a deadly level and he knew it well. He wasn't sure he could do the necessary with her around, he didn't want to scar her.

Kendra..... He called me Kendra. She thought. The whisper of a smile tugging at the corners of her face. She didn't want to show how much that had meant to her. She didn't go by Daydream all the time. Sometimes she did. Mostly everyone just called her Kendra.
The fact that Tristen had called her that told her that he saw the human side in her too. It was a warm feeling. Without warning he kissed her lips. A vivid flash of last night stormed her mind until his lips retreated. A shaking hand pulling at the bed sheets. Sand and dirt, mixed with mud, the echoing screams bouncing around the walls of the room. The thunderous pounding of the rain outside. Weakening Tristen's connection to the world. Isolating him, the rain caused him to feel human and she found his humanity beautiful when she tangled among him in a warm embrace.
He told her she was special, that he didn't know what this was. What does he want it to be? Her mind shot back almost as if replying to his comment. Oh my god. She thought. What do I want this to be? She had no clue. She thought of Emily, how she was probably worried sick. Her girlfriend was an empath. She felt other people's emotions psychically. They over powered her own emotions. Kendra couldn't help but wonder if her own emotions of grief were strong enough to override what others were feeling. She felt guilty, but she felt hopeful. She wasn't sure what this was either, but she wanted more of it. As terrible as it was to say, she found herself wanting more, not less of Geo.
Her eyes followed him as he pulled away. She wanted to run her tongue over her lips, but she didn't. She let the feeling linger as he crouched in front of her and proclaimed it was going to get nasty. "I know that! That's why I don't want'chu gone alone!" She retorted. She had just as much right to worry about him as he did to worry about her. And it was her that they were really after. Or at least that's the way this had started. But as they watched Kendra and Tristen; Daydream and Geo they realized what a rare and magnificent specimen Geo was himself. Geo didn't realize he'd be walking right into a trap. He was on the list now. The wish list. His name was right under Daydream's.
"If'n you're go'in. I'm go'in! That's final." She said with a defiant streak she hadn't shown til now. She could be stubborn when she wanted to be. She knew there wasn't a whole lot she could do practically. She knew that she would probably get in the way more than anything as Geo tried to deal with Gavin, but she wanted to be there. She wanted to make sure nothing happened to Tristen. She wanted to make sure that it was finally over. If Tristen was as big a ladie's man as he came off to be he should know better than to argue with a stubborn woman.
Geo stared at the beautiful woman through his hazel eyes. A look of determination across his face as he tried to stare at her hard enough to force reason into her. Or at least his version of reason. Giving up on the impractical approach he blinked and shoot his head through a sigh. He had to think of something to reach a conclusion to the impossible task of convincing her.
Letting he head lull into her shoulder for a moment he contemplated alternatives. He couldn't just hand deliver their main target. Walk her into what was most certainly a fight designed from the jump to have the advantage. But there was that one thing that women sometimes took too. What was that word...
"Compromise!" His head shot up and his eyes were wide. "We stash your body before we go in and you come in invisible. Under the radar." There was always the matter of where would be the best place to hide her. The Sanctuary certainly wasn't safe. That much was clear. He was starting to wonder if there was even a place she would be out of their reach. But he was sure that walking her into the belly of the beast wasn't the best option.
"They have a psychic though. They're going to play dirty, beautiful. I can't guarantee that you'll be safe walking in there with me. I don't like that." Had the Order still been in swing he could have mustered a force together with relative ease. But the odds were definitely stacked against them in this instance.
It wouldn't be much of a compromise. The psychic could see her. She could make it so everyone in the room could see her. There was just no hiding from psychics for Daydream. Daydream had never met a psychic before this young girl. She didn't know that psychics could see through the veil. See that she was really there when the rest of the world were ignorant to her existence.
Daydream thought about it a moment. She was wearing a pair of her own jeans with rips and tears at the thighs, revealing a hint of the pale flesh beneath. She had on a black tank top and she grabbed her leather jacket and slid it on over her shoulders. Reaching into the jacket pocket she grabbed her wool fingerless gloves and slipped them on. She had been meaning to eventually buy a pair of actual leather gloves; but she kept forgetting. It'd be nice not to dream walk and leave her fingerprints everywhere to scream to the world hey just broke into your house!
Daydream looked up and nodded in agreement. She didn't know how that little girl's power worked. For all she knew she could only invade their heads. It didn't necessarily mean she would know they were there the moment they arrived. Did it? Just then their door did get a knock on it. Daydream's eyes moved to the door quickly. She was shifting her weight on her back foot ready to pounce on whoever it was and fight for her life when the voice came from the other side. Mac?
"Ay yo guys! Open up its Mac!" When the door opened Daydream looked at him. She didn't recognize him when he wasn't a flirty little bird. He was actually. Quite handsome. Daydream smiled. "Mac?" He stepped into the room looking around a bit and then his eyes settled on Kendra. A warm smile spread across his face. "Yeah mama it's me. Hey I stopped by to ask if you guys wanted to go get some breakfast or something? My treat!" Mac suggested turning to face Geo.
"No thanks Mac we have someone we have to meet today. Maybe when we get back ok?" Daydream felt a little awful that she kept putting off getting to know Mac better. He was Geo's friend and he seemed like a pretty nice guy. It just so happened that every time he was around there was something going on. "Come'on Tristen." She said grabbing Geo's hand and pulling him out the door. They left with the door open. Leaving Mac standing in their room alone. His shoulders slumped as the bright friendly smile slowly straightened out into a look of fear.
Suddenly the walls behind Mac opened up and the creepy circus music began to swell. A blue fog rolled out of the wall sized doors that shouldn't exist. The door to Daydream and Geo's room slammed closed as the burst of wind came rushing from the opening in the wall. Gavin Sinclair stepped out of the wall. He had with him his psychic the little girl. And a few extra mutants for muscle in case Geo came back unexpectedly. Gavin was smiling. Mac didn't simply stood there. Waiting for Gavin to speak. He knew who it was. The man scared him.
Leaning into Mac's ear Gavin's breath was cold against his skin. "Are they coming?" "I think so....Said they had to meet someone." Gavin's hands crept up Mac's back. Mac did nothing but continue to stare at the door in front of him. His expression had never changed from that scared look. "Keep following them son!" Gavin's eyes rolled over the message on the wall and a big toothy grin spread across his face. He leaned into Mac's ear one last time. "Nice touch with the message kid. Remember. Get them to the circus today!" Gavin said as he took the little girl's hand. They turned and headed back into the wall. A few mutants dressed as creepy clowns followed them into the wall and the music died away. The smoke disappeared and Mac had to follow Geo and Daydream.
Mac turned into bird. His body seemed to shrink in matter of a microsecond and his cloths turned to feathers, his mouth turned into a beak and before you could even snap your fingers he was in his bird form. Mac flew out the open window to follow them. He had to catch up. He hadn't been able to do much to sway the course of events and get them to go to the circus, but he knew Geo well. He knew that if he was into a woman and she was threatened even indirectly he was the type to want to go bust some skulls.
Daydream lead Geo down the hall. She was nervous, but that wasn't going to stop her from going with him and making sure that Geo came back to her. "I know the perfect place we can stash my body." She said as she pushed open the front door the sanctuary. The day was bright and sunshiny outside. Nothing like the rainy dreck that had been the last couple of days. It was going to be beautiful all day. To bad the forecast for the rest of her day was calling for bloodbaths.
