The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daydream was a freelance photographer. Mostly, she didn't work directly for anyone. She did have publications she frequently did work for though. Like the one that she was taking pictures for in the park. Daydream set her fork down and took a sip of her drink. Her eyes not leaving Tristen's gaze. "Well, i shop my pictures round a lot'o places, the main one though is for a little local magazine in Georgia called The Divide. It mainly focuses on the differences between humans and mutants. Somma my shots are of old folks in the park enjoyin life like they rightly should or a photo of the sun coming up over the horizons castin light on a bent blad'a grass. Doesn't really matter long'sas it fits with the article. And it's all very interpretive. I also get paid to take pictures of interesting mutant powers. Only if they gimme permission though. I'm not in the business of outing mutants that don't wanna be outted. This isn't a hateful publication. I read somma the articles before." Daydream forked in another bite and continued. "Most articles are submitted by pro mutant humans and even the articles themselves aren't really written by anyone on staff just faceless opinions of the minority."
The way The Divide worked was people who wanted to support the cause of equality could email in their own articles on certain subjects ranging from mutant powers, the registration act, government funded mutant assistant programs you name it. Daydream's photos were sent in and provided a soft backlight the articles. Mostly pictures of happy things or things of that nature. It was a good publication to help the mutant cause and it was all sent in anonymously so she never feared being outted herself. She used a fake name when she sent in her photos.... Madison Hope.
Daydream even had a few pictures of Tristen from the park. When he began to tunnel under the ground to confront her she had gotten a few pictures. She took them mostly on reflex she wasn't actually planning on sending those into her editor. Daydream didn't finish her breakfast. She got mostly done before she became full and gently pushed her plate aside.
Tristen would be the cover of the magazine for sure if she were to have taken some photos of him. In her room back at the mansion she actually had a copy of The Divide. The mainly featured article was about finding balance between friend and foe. Daydream's big brown eyes stared at Tristen for a moment, she could see the concern deepening in his brow. "I don't blame you for anythang you did Tristen. I'm sure you had'ya reasons. Like I said. Your'ra good person too. I got a sense bout these sorta thangs."

Her work with the magazine sounded interesting. Something that he would probably read. A publication dedicated to ending the stigma around mutants was definitely one that he could get behind.
"Sounds like you're fighting on the mutant front in your own way there Dreamboat. Bring awareness out there to the people. Show those mutants out there that are still hiding that we are all out here and very much in the open." Taking another sip before picking up his fork Geo had a realization. "You still have those pictures of me don't you?" He was fairly certain that she had gotten at least one while he was still being swallowed up by the ground. If not he would happily put on a hell of a display for her. It was for a good cause and Geo never minded showing off.
"Nope. Nuh-uh. Not going to happen." Geo's eyes narrowed though his smile remained as he pointed his for at Daydream. "Just because I told you my old name doesn't mean you can go around using it. I have a reputation to uphold around here." He pretended that was what really bothered him about the usage of that name. She was sweet. Trying to convince him her sense about people being good made it for sure. But Geo knew better. It wouldn't change the past. The things he had done. He still wasn't even sure if half of it was the wrong thing to do. He had been fighting for his people. The smile turned to a frown as she tried to convince him.
"Well I hope your right Dreamy..." His voice wavered some as he spoke. Playing with the food on his face he avoided Daydream's stunning gaze. He was trying to avoid the whole 'Tristen' side of the conversation. One look at those big gorgeous brown eyes and he'd be week in the knees and practicing his damn signature.
"Who's Emily?" Geo's gravelly voice cut his silence like a hot knife as he scooped up a bite, quickly swallowing it down. He let the question hang for a moment, always leaning towards the theatrical. "Take it that's your squeeze right? Back at the mansion?"
Daydream sat there listening to Tristen (He will forever be Tristen to her now) and watched as he almost seemed to be beaming with pride after learning about her job. Mutant revolutionary. Fighting the mutant war in literary form. They say that any publicity was good publicity, but this magazine actually was good publicity for mutants. It humanized them. It didn't vilify them. She could see why he was proud, but it didn't stop her cheeks from burning red.
For several moments; she found herself wondering what it would be like to be a featured mutant in the magazine that she worked for. She could see a full page picture of her sleeping in her bed with a mirrored ceiling and herself lying beside her body. In this imaginary photo her astral body had her hands behind her head resting comfortably. The light pink aura wrapping around her slightly translucent form. In this non existent article the title read. Meet Kendra. The mutant who's dreams never come true.... Or something equally corny for an opening line She thought about who she would have told her story. Would it be tragic like or life? Or maybe uplifting like her optimistic personality? It was a daydream that lasted several moments before Tristen snapped her out of it.
"Who's Emily?" Tristen asked. Daydream looked up from her .... Well, daydream and blinked several times in shock. She thought she must've misheard him as he sat there eating his racho things. Did he just....? Daydream didn't remember ever mentioning Emily. When he followed it up by asking if she was Daydream's 'squeeze' she turned even more red.
"She's my girlfriend." She said. Why was that embarrassing? It seemed a little condescending the way he put it. Like he was poking fun at her for being interested in women. She was into men too, she just happened to be in a relationship with a woman. Not that it was any of his business. She looked at Tristen with narrowed eyes and her lips curled back into her mouth. The tight seal of her tucked in lips caused her mouth to appear as a straight line as she tried to figure him out. "How'd you know bout Emily?" She asked. She wasn't really suspicious as much as she was curios. She tried to think back and remember if she had mentioned her. Nope. She didn't mention her. Not even when she was explaining why she couldn't go back to the mansion and lead Gavin there.
Daydream crossed her arms across her chest. She was a little on the defensive side at this point. "What girls can't like other girls? That it?" She asked with a slight tone of annoyance. She had always been attracted to both sexes, but girls were softer. More compassionate. They were less likely to tear you heart out. Tell that to Libby. She thought bitterly. Stop getting distracted! She yelled at herself internally. She started at Tristen wondering how he could have known....
He had gotten the shock he was hoping for in bringing up the name he had heard Daydream muttering in her sleep. A safe bet, especially given the information on her former fiance she had offered up earlier. The look on her face was priceless. The elemental basked in it for a few moments as she wondered how he knew about her. Her face reached a new shade of red at the question, a curious result.
"You talk in your sleep. I might not pay much attention but I always remember what a red head says." He chuckled slightly to the joke to himself. It had just stuck out to him in his time huddling over her sleeping body in worry as they had just met. Suspicion seemed to rise from her end of the table. Geo could practically see her feathers ruffle as she sized up for defense, crossing her arms in front of her. The elemental stared at the woman who threw allegations at him with a smile firmly planted on his lips. Trying very hardly not to burst into laughter Geo tried to point out the obvious.
"Yes. Me, the mutant activists with a history at fighting bigotry and oppression. Because I'm a guy that walks around complimenting women I'm obviously a pig right?" His playful smile stayed on his as he spoke. "That means I have ulterior motives and with that I obviously must think the only time two women should be together is in some fantasy. Please." Geo let out a loud hearty laugh after he was done speaking. It was a funny notion. Though he often got pooled in with they typical male stereotype. He liked to throw people off. Kept things interesting.
"One of the best wingmen I ever had in the club was this gal names Aura. She was smoother than I was half the time. I respect love in whatever form it comes in Dreamboat. Lifes too full of ugliness not to."
The waitress came back and took their plates as Daydream stared at Tristen a moment longer. Gradually, her face softened and she realized she was being silly. She was so used to the curios looks during her time with Libby, that she just naturally expected it from everyone. This wasn't Georgia though, this was New York. She had to keep reminding herself of that from time to time.
Daydream's hands settled back into her lap. One hand clasping the other she was about to speak when the girl brought them each a slice of pie. Daydream raised an eyebrow and looked at the young girl. "Here you go Mr. Geo. mi padre sólo quería decir gracias" Mr. Geo? Daydream wasn't sure what was going on but she smiled lightly at the free pie. I shouldn't. I already went to town on that rancho thing. But it would be rude to turn down free pie.
Scooping a piece with her fork, Daydream looked at the girl. "Grassiass!" It was all wrong the way she pronounced it with that southern drawl, but it was the only word in Spanish she knew and she didn't even really know that one if you think about it. Daydream popped the piece of pie in her mouth to discover it was blueberry. Her eyes settled back on Tristen. He had told her some crazy and terrible things about himself. Things that made him a monster. But not in her eyes. She had told him some crazy and terrible things about herself. Things that made her a monster. But not in his eyes. Now all tha was left to do was enjoy the pie.
Daydream was cutting off another small corner as she eyed her plate and spoke. It was really was good pie. The crust was flaky and light. She had to remind herself to get the name of this place. Looking back up at Tristen she smiled as a thought occurred to her. "You're like the poster boy for showin off. You should lemme take some photos of you using your mutation. Could be good for the cause." She said enjoying another savory bite. It was true. Tristen, also known as the mutant Geo would be wonderful to photograph in the right setting she figured he might be the most powerful mutation she had come across. Certainly one of the most powerful ones she had seen in the magazine. The issue she had in her room was about a guy who had fireproof skin. It talked about how he used his mutation to help people as a fire fighter.
Daydream took another sip of her coffee that was now cold. Looking across the table she smiled. She honestly liked the idea of doing a photo shoot with Tristen. It was probably not the right time for it. They had things they had to get done, research to do on this circus. Daydream still didn't even know where the place was. But the fact was she was looking for any distraction she could. She wanted to put off anything possibly dealing with Gavin for as long as she could. She didn't know what Tristen's plan was. She didn't know what he wanted to do after breakfast. All she knew was she wanted life to just be simple again.
Geo smiled warmly at Daydream as she gave her best attempt at thanks. He had to admit her southern drawl was his Achilles heel. Though he'd never admit to her the pull it gave her on him. Offering the same smile to the girl waiting on them he bowed his head in thanks.
"Gracias Nina. Dile a tu padre que se mejore pronto." And she was gone. The smile remained fixated on his features as he examined the desert. "I helped them out with some issues they had with the landlord. New York slum lords are ruthless. Especially when they have leverage on you." Geo dug into the blueberry pie happily. The rich sweet flavors contrasted nicely from the savory breakfast. Besides who didn't like a bit of sweets for breakfast? His eyes caught Daydreams as she smiled at him, making his heart skip a bit as she asked him about more photos.
"Ah! So I take it that I came out rather photogenic?" He winked at her through a laugh as he put down his fork to take a drink of his room temperature coffee. "I'd be more than happy to oblige there Dreamboat. We just have to be subtle about it. Or have you forgotten that we're wanted criminals." He wiggled his eyebrows to emphasis his statement before laughing at the notion. Going for a full out display probably wasn't best when New York's finest was looking for his particular power set. But there were way around that. Besides they still had to figure out what to do with the circus. Or rather he'd have to find a way to slip Daydream somewhere safe long enough for him to pay a visit to the address on the back on the card in his pocket.

Daydream rolled her eyes when he bragged about being photogenic. She had specifically told him the opposite back at the rite aid. She said that he took a shitty photo, or something along those lines she couldn't quite remember. "I kinda remember tellin ya that you took a crappy photo, but I guess you have a certain flare that would make the page pop." She declared as she slipped another warm flaky forkful between those luscious pink lips.
Though honestly, she could see the potential for something really cool. If he could raise a couch made out of dirt, maybe she'd have him craft something like a throne to sit on made of dirt and rock, with a gravitational orbit of debris floating around him. She really saw that as an amazing shot. Or possibly a picture of him floating a small stone in front of his hand. Something dramatic. She was sure that Tristen was the type to really ham it up. She couldn't imagine him holding back or being shy. She thought about the possibilities and now that he had given her the ok, she really wished she had her camera.
Daydream didn't often get to photograph mutant powers. Some of the photographers who sent photos in to the magazine had no etiquette. No tact. They would sometimes stumble upon a mutant and send in photos of them without their permission. In Daydream's mind this went against everything the magazine stood for. Mutant rights. Human rights. And the fact that we're all supposed to be equals. It seemed exploitative to do it that way. Mutant's weren't supposed to be like animals in a zoo for people's amusement. It was wrong. She wasn't that kind of photographer. She had a thing called integrity.
The mention of the police still wanting them made her pause. Her eyes moved over Tristen's face. He was smiling and unworried, but she felt a sinking filling in her stomach. She had forgotten that they were wanted. So much had happened in such a short time that she let that detail slip her mind. She really was a distractible fool. Daydream's eyes moved over to one of the workers who were speaking Spanish and pointing at them. Her eyebrow raised slightly. Tristen trusted these people. That much was for sure, they almost seemed to interact like family. Daydream wondered what they were saying. They're probably saying ' look at the girl MR. Geo is with! She's so pale! Daydream was always hard on her own looks, she didn't see why her brown eyes made Tristen melt.
Finishing up her pie she reached for her coffee again when Tristen asked her about Emily. She paused mid sip, then she took a sip and set it down. Looking at him she realized a little grin was coming across her face as she thought of Emily. "Well, yeah. She lives at the mansion. She'sa psychic empath who can sense people's emotions just'as real as her own. We met my first night in town actually." She said. She remembered that night. She was in the kitchen late, invisible. Emily came in and sensed her emotion and knew she was there and promptly cursed her out calling her an invisible arse and accused her of trying to 'mess' with her. Daydream had spent the entire night with her and took her into the city for 3 am pizza at this little hole in the wall.
The smile was spreading and she didn't even realize it until it was a big toothy grin. Lost in her own thoughts for a moment she blinked and realized she was still sitting at the table. She knew that Tristen was bound to give her a hard time about it so she looked down at the coffee still in her hands and pretended to be thinking about something. "She's a sweet girl. From England. I don't wanna see her get hurt, so I've been kinda avoiding goin home cus well I thought I might be crazy, but I was sure someone was'a followin me. Turns out I wasn't crazy." Daydream got quite for a moment. The meal between them was all but gone, though they lingered in the booth just for the sake of conversation.
This was a conversation that needed to be discussed. "What're doing bout Gavin? We're goin right? We're gone show up to his show. Tell'em we're not interested and leave? You thank, he'll let'us alone?" Daydream didn't even believe the words that were coming out of her own mouth. She knew better. Even the optimist in her had sensed that Gavin Sinclair was a monster. Unlike Tristen, and unlike herself. Gavin Sinclair was a monster on a whole'nother level.
"Well we both know that ain't true." Geo spoke implying an air of confidence though added to the statement. "You're far too skilled a photographer to make me look bad." He punctuated with a wink thrown in her direction as he broke off a large piece of the pie and forked it into his mouth. It was mostly a guessed statement. He had seen a few pictures on her camera when hey had first encountered though Geo didn't give them a fair once over. He was more concerned at the time with making sure that the woman was actually taking pictures of him before he tormented her. It was strange how that had seemed like so long ago when really it was closer to twenty four hours ago. It was strange how ones perception of time could change so drastically.
He honestly would love a chance to show off who he was. The elemental was all about displaying his abilities whenever the opportunity presented itself. It showed a sense of pride and he liked to think showed other mutants who were afraid of who they were to not be afraid to show their true colors. With a medium in the media like Daydream offered it was only magnified. It was important that the next generation of mutants had someone to look up to. In this crazy world who knew what the future held for their kind. The reminder of their situation with the police brought obvious worry to the redhead's features.
"Don't sweat it Dreamy. Cops have a short attention span in a city like this one. Chances are they were done looking for us before midnight. Might be in their systems for a bit but out of sight out of mind." He had experience with this sort of things. Chances were as long as you weren't going on a straight rampage through the streets they would have a whole bunch more problems on their hands before the night was out. They just needed to not draw attention to themselves. The Vasquez family Geo knew he could trust, he had a history with them. That wasn't an issue. But if she wanted a demonstration they were going to have to be crafty.
"Empath huh? Sounds like fun. That's gotta be hard to play your cards close to your chest. Though I guess that leaves you with a different kind of closeness I suspect. Double edged sword?" He had never dated a psychic before. Closest he had come to was Deja, her reality warping was mind blowing but he didn't know if he would like not being alone in his own head. He was a conflicted man though he tried not to show it with his calm and relaxed demeanor. It was something he liked to keep to himself. The world was full of enough problems without him adding his into the mix. English though, the Xy's must have been actively recruiting from over seas. He had ran into another X-kid a few days prior. Serena her name was though. Geo doubted she gave him a false name so the thought left his mind.
"Well you can't avoid it forever. All hiding and changing your life up does is empower these creeps." Geo spoke before finishing off the last of his pie. He didn't even want to mention the possibility that they had been following her long enough to already know about the mansion. It wasn't like that speedy creep could have known what she did whenever she passed out. This had preconceived write all over it.
"I'm going to go up there. I'll talk to him and you won't have to deal with them any more." His voice adopted a very somber tone as he spoke. Trying to convey the seriousness on the subject he spoke of. "You can stay at the Sanctuary. I'll get Mac or someone to keep you company. When I get back I'll make sure you get home safe and sound." His tone was protective. He didn't want to risk Daydream getting hurt. There was no way they were making it out of this without a scrap. He didn't want to tell her that of course but he had been around the block enough to know for sure.

Breakfast was certainly interesting. She had gained a good bit of insight on not only Tristen, but herself. She thought quietly as they walked along the sidewalk. Not really saying much. Daydream was off in her head, as she often was. It was purely muscle memory at this point. Her own defense mechanism to shrink away and recede back into the deep endless ocean that was her thoughts. She had no reason particular reason to be defensive, but she was also; like her name implied a daydreamer. She couldn't help but allow her mind to wander and explore from time to time. She sometimes had trouble focusing unless something was happing. Call it a side effect of her mutation. Being in a never ending existence of conscious awareness meant her mind was constantly moving, working, firing on all cyclinders.
Daydream didn't get a break like most people. Most people's brains shut off during the night allowing the subconscious to take over and transport them to wonderful dreams. Daydream didn't have the luxery. She may have seemed distracted but she was still in a good mood as they walked through the sea of people in the sidewalk. Tristen may have been saying something to her, she couldn't tell over the noise and the thoughts that crept into her head and stole her foucs. One step in front of the other. She was on autopilot as they moved through the pedestrians. Her mind trying to work on what he had said. So what he's just gone stash me somewhere so he can run off and join the circus? Ain't no way Gavin's gone let him leave once he gets there. If I let him alone and he runs off..... I'll never see'em again. Not til Gavin comes back for me.
Daydream didn't know what their next step should be but she didn't want to split up. She didn't want Tristen going alone headlong into danger. That was stupid, that was arrogant, and it described Tristen to a T but she didn't want to let it be so. Daydream had already made up her mind that she would follow him. He ain't gone gimme the slip. Not like he can tunnel round underground. It'd be stupid to use his powers out in the open when cops were looking for him when walk's just'as good. Though, never claimed Tristen to be one of the bright ones. A smirk appeared on her lips as she jested Tristen in her head.
They were on their way back to the sanctuary. And truthfully it wasn't that far away. She had to get her camera and she figured that maybe they could find some place around there to do a private photo-shoot. The earth was still wet from the rain, but she wasn't sure how much that would effect what he could do. She didn't fully understand his limitations. Hell she didn't fully understand her own limitations. Daydream didn't bring up the circus. She wasn't going to argue her point. She had simply nodded at his suggestion and made up her mind that she was going to follow him in astral form. Make sure he didn't get himself into trouble and make sure that he came back!
"Ma' camera's on the desk in there." She said. She needed access to a laptop as well, but for now one problem at a time. Daydream hurried her step to cross the stress and tried to keep herself from falling into her own mind. She had a bad habit of just letting her mind wander, but her overtaxed brain was hard to control sometimes. Blinking a few times she yawned a big sretching yawn. It wasn't even noon and she was already tired. A nap would be nice soon. And if she was being honest she wouldn't mind Tristen laying down beside her again. It made her feel safe. Even though she was conscious in astral form she could feel whatever physically touched her body. She felt his arm around her. She felt the weight of it draped across her chest, she felt his leg hooked into hers on her physical body, though she felt the sensation of it on her astral body. She was sitting in a chair across the room and cuddling with this crazy man who had fell into her life at the same time. It was weird, but comforting.
She didn't want to bring it up, but she had to say something about it. It was just to awkward to ignore it completely. Oh, how she wished she could just lock Gavin and her fears in a closet and forget they were there, but she couldn't Daydream looked over at Tristen who seemed to not be looking at her at the moment. "Don't hurt'em." She said softly. When Tristen looked at her confused she repeated her intentions. "Gavin Sinclair. Dont'chu hurt em. Some people, they just hate us. Other want to use our powers.... It ain't right. It's not. But you're not that guy you were. You're not the person you told me bout that filled ya with such shame. So. Don't hurt em." It was a tall order, and probably a very unrealistic one, but she made it all the same.
By the time they had finished their meal and hit the street the New York foot traffic was in full swing. Geo fell into the crowds pace as he tucked his sandals back into the back pocket of his pants, letting his feet connect with the firm concrete. It wasn't dirt but it was better than the soles of footwear. He kept close to Daydream as the walked silently, always making sure she was never out of arms reach. Falling slightly behind pace so she wouldn't notice Geo kept a careful watch on the crowd.
Who knew what kind of players the circus freak had up his sleeves. Mutants came in such a wide variety it left nothing for predictability. All one could to was watch for the out of place. A hard thing to do in New York. She had accepted his demands to her staying behind with no real contest. It was peculiar. His eyes fell on the fiery hair bouncing ahead of him. It didn't fit her personality she had shown so far. Not that he could say a day was enough to access the depth of ones personality. But it rubbed him the wrong way. His eyes followed the length of her figure the rest of the way, a smile forming on his face before going back to looking around the crowd. Yup. She was worth the trouble.
Girlfriend or not. Geo enjoyed the presence of a beautiful woman. He would never actively go against her relationship. That wasn't how he liked to operate. He'd express his appreciation of her aesthetic features. Flirt lightly here and there. But the elemental never flirted simply to try and reach an endgame. He liked making people feel good about themselves. As they got back to his room Geo pulled out his back pack from the wardrobe and sat on the bed. Pulling apart a few strings he dug into it's contents, up to his elbows in the bag.
"Don't hurt'em."
He froze, looking to her while she continued on. It left Geo at a loss for words. He sat puzzled for a long quiet moment, trying to plot his words carefully. The elemental was many things in his life. But a liar he was not. He didn't want to lie to the beautiful woman who looked to him from across the room. Lying took the meaning out of the things that you say, made the next words that came out carry less weight. Heaving a big sigh he looked up at the woman as she spoke of his past. That was the thing. He didn't feel shame for what he had done. It was necessary. It was war and war came with casualties and if you weren't the one making them then you got added to the body count. He survived, so did others but only because he had fought to take the lives of those who would have taken theirs.
"Men like that can't always be reasoned with Daydream." Geo's gravelly voice spoke gently too her. Watching her through glassy eyes he slowly continued. "Did you see that little girl? The one who he used to get in our heads? Couldn't have been maybe ten or twelve. She had a family, friends. I'm sure she went to school, had crushes shoot maybe even had a dog I don't know. But she had a life outside that circus." A slight catch in his throat caused him to pause and collect himself for a brief moment. The girl had been on his mind from the moment he was her. "I'm sure she was hunted. Just like you. Was scared. Just like you. Maybe even got picked up by that Swift pervert. Just like you almost did. Only she didn't get a chance to fight." He kicked his feet off the bed climbing to his feet. In a few small steps he cleared the space between the two, making sure Daydreams deep brown eyes were fixed on his.
"As long as that man breaths I can't guarantee that he won't do that to more people."

Daydream was quiet. She couldn't hold Tristen's gaze. His hazel eyes were like staring down a double barreled shotgun. The usually cocky, flirty elemental was deadly serious. His eyes seemed to bounce around her face almost as if he was searching for something in her. She didn't know what that was, but his piercing eyes were to much for her to handle and she dropped her eyes to the floor. She was staring at Tristen's dirty feet. His toes wiggled a bit in the plush carpet. "If'n we kill him. We're the monsters." She spoke softly.
She didn't know what was the truly right thing to do here. Even if the mutants at the circus were happy so what? Did that make it right? Did they even have a right to do anything about it if they were there under their own free will? She knew that not to be the case though. Like Tristen had pointed out, that girl must've had a family. Must've had friends. She didn't just happen upon a circus and decide that it looked like a barrel of laughs.
Daydreamed finally nodded. Her head moved up and down rapidly as she agreed with Tristen's assessment. "Ok." She said. They didn't know that the little girl they were both so worried about was actually the most powerful mutant there. That young sweet innocent little girl had a power that terrified even Gavin himself. Daydream moved over to the nightstand beside the bed. She didn't even feel as if she were walking. She felt as if ghostly fingers were carrying her, making her glide across the room. She grabbed her camera. Her eyes were still downcast, to afraid to meet his stare. If'n we do go there, we might need proof. She thought as she turned the camera over in her hand.
Daydream slipped the strap of the camera around her neck. She took a step closer to Tristen. Her hands found his chest and slowly her hands crawled up over his shoulders. Her slender fingers wrapped around the back of his neck and she laid her head on his chest. It was hard. It felt like a rock, but she could hear the muffled sound of a heart beating in there. Tristen had a heart. She didn't know how much the things he had done in his life had darkened it, but she didn't want this to be one more thing that did.
You can only walk through the flames so many times before people start calling you the devil. He wasn't that to her. He had been an angel. A protector. A friend. Tristen had shown Daydream what it was to truly and proudly embrace the mutant side of her. Something that she severely lacked confidence in. He came along and did in a day, what she hadn't managed to make herself do in twenty-one years. Accept who she was.
Daydream's lips parted slightly. Her eyes had fallen halfway closed to the sweet sound of the rhymemic beating of his heart. Her palms were itchy, her throat felt dry. She could feel the constriction in her esophagus. The delicious breakfast from this morning threatening to come back and revisit her. She was terrified of Gavin, but she knew he couldn't go alone. She swallowed and fought back the queasy feeling. I have to go. I won't let him go alone. She thought as she took a step back. Held him at arm's length. The soft handsome features of a man she could never thank. An easy feeling. There was a war of emotions raging on her face. Sadness, worry, fear, happiness to have a friend. Each one of them daring to leap up and overwhelm her.
Daydream's big brown eyes settled on his. She blinked a few times, batting her eyelashes. She didn't do it in an erotic or flirtatious way, it was natural. It was sweet. It was the look of a woman shaking loose the last little bit of doubt that clutched at her frightened heart like a twisted claw. She knew Tristen wanted to help. He wanted to help her, the mutants. He wanted to kill Gavin Sinclair and she understood why, he was terrible. She knew that he would succeed somehow. In that moment, she wasn't afraid as she looked into his eyes and saw the raw determination within them. She knew that he was going to set the mutants in the circus free and he would come back. She had a sense about these things after all. Call it woman's intuition. She'd still follow him of course, but she smiled lighter knowing in her heart that even Gavin Sinclair wasn't a match for Geo the incredible dirty man.
The myriad of emotions on Daydreams face pulled at Geo's heartstrings. He saw a young mutant. New to this war torn world that he wanted nothing more than to shield from the same torturing experiences he had gone through. The boy he was when he first got exposed to this world was miles away. It was another life. But here and now he had control. He could effect her future.
"Which is why you will be staying." He cradled her head, as she held it against his chest. Never in his wildest dreams could he imagine what must be going through her mind. It was taxing on her. He could tell. But he wasn't going to start lying to her now. She stood there against him for a long moment though not nearly long enough in Geo's opinion. As she stepped back, fluttering her gorgeous eyes at him he stared at her for a long moment. Taking in the woman in front of him he heaved a large sigh. In the chaotic world she seemed to bring along with her he kept forgetting what a vision she was. Her hair had been what caught his attention at their first encounter. But the more they spent time together it seemed like more and more about her seemed to pop out at him. Her beautiful brown eyes that stared into his soul. Pouty lips that tempted his morals. As his eyes ran her over her figure he felt pangs in his heart. That was just the wrapper that encased the quirky bit of crazy that was the truly enchanting feature to the woman that captivated his attention.
His heart got him into dangerous places. Falling too quick into places he ought not belong. Especially with a taken woman. Rolling his eyes the dust covered man shrugged back into his carefree demeanor. Chuckling he fluttered his eyelids at her jokingly before pulling out a cigarette. As he crossed the room to the window he stopped to plant a kiss on top of her head.
"We have more important issues at hand though gorgeous." His thick voice carried a playful tone. Lighting his cigarette he opened the window and turned to lean against the frame. He made sure to get caught trying catch a glance at the back side of her before she turned completely around. Though played it off like he was looking at the ceiling when he got caught. Chuckling a little bit he tossed her a wink. Didn't want her to go around getting the impression he was a hero or something.
"You and I have a date with a bunch of dirt Dreamboat. I'm thinking we find one of these abandoned construction sites and go have some fun."

It wasn't long until they found themselves at a construction site. The place was empty. Construction on some supermarket chain halted by the labor union. Better wages, fewer hazards... Etc. It didn't matter why the place was deserted it just mattered that it was. There was a large metal frame. The inner shell of the building and support beams where the store was to be standing. Large plots of dirt that would eventually be turned into a parking lot when the project was completed. For now it was just mountains of dirt pushed off to the side of the construction project. There were stacks of lumber and a few bobcats around. Heavy machinery just left here.
Daydream followed Tristen into the construction site. Her boots making heavy crunching noises on the tough dirt with every step. The dirt was a pale shade of grey. Daydream bent down and picked up some of the dirt in her hand and let it run between her fingers. This is how the magic happens. I should have brought candles. She said in her head. She had a stupid grin on her face. It was a fact Tristen didn't know yet, because well.... He didn't really know her yet. But when she wasn't worried or stressed Daydream was very.... Very..... Corny. She thought she was funny, but she was painfully, cringingly unfunny. Thankfully, she didn't really feel comfortable cracking jokes until she really knew someone, but when she did it would cause the whole room to just quietly shake their heads.
Letting go of the dirt and allowing the wind to catch it; Daydream watched the dirt disappear with the wind. Standing up she brushed her hands off on her jeans. Daydream reached up and tucked a few loose strands behind her ear. Another habit she did subconsciously, like the nose twitching. The wind blew her red hair around her face. It was actually getting pretty windy out here. Somewhere near by a tarp was flapping in the wind. There was the sound of the tarp rustling just faint enough for you to hear it on the wind. Daydream looked at Tristen still smiling. "This dirt ok for you?" She wasn't sure if he was choosy about the type he used or what he could and couldn't use. She knew he liked dirt and that was all.
Daydream turned on her camera. While it was loading up she squinted into the sun. They had plenty of light for the photo shoot. It was still early in the day and looking up at the sky she didn't see rain being a factor. The backdrop of the construction site would actually make a pretty cool contrast. Thematically it all seemed to go really well with what she was thinking for these photos. Daydream's camera turned on and she scrolled through the settings; turning off any filters or weird options she may have had turned on. She just wanted straight photos for now.
"Stand a little over there. I want'chu to have the dirt hills behind ya for these first few sugar." She said. Raising the camera to her eye. "You ready?" This was going to be fun she thought. Holding the camera up she snapped a quick picture just to check the glare and exposure, Hmm. Lightings good these will turn out great! "Let's start small... How's bout you just let me get a few of you without your powers running."
Geo had felt the spot before they had seem it. Long tall makeshift walls ran along the street, blocking the street from the messy construction site. It wasn't hard to slip into. The sun had dried out the earth nicely, making it sensitive to his call. The ground shivered as his bare feet hit the dirt. The elemental closed his eyes, feeling out the area around them as he felt Daydream footsteps carrying on ahead.
"This dirt ok for you?"
Gathering the dirt at his feet Geo propelled himself past Daydream rapidly, going past her and into the depth of the site where they had mountains of dirt set aside from digging the foundations. Now this was how to live in New York.
"I think it'll work. Yeah." Geo joked through a hearty chuckle. His powers didn't seem to be too picky when it came to the ground he worked with. For the most part top soil and the minerals found commonly in it seemed to always make a fine conduit. Same with stones and rocks around the area, his main issue was the refined earthly materials. As the redhead started giving him instructions Geo happily sauntered into place. He always found himself being in a much better.
"Whenever you are gorgeous. Hair up or down?" He gestured a dusty hand to the small bun atop his head. She was the artist here, he wanted to make sure he was a cooperative subject for her. Following her instructions he let the ground around him stay stagnant while he crossed his arms. Going for a tough contemplative look he watched the skyline for a few moments, making sure to angle his jaw just so. The then crouched down, arm resting on his knee as he ran his hand in the loose sand that covered the area around him. He reached down as far as he could, feeling the ground through a bare palm he held to the ground. Closing his eyes always helped when he was using his element to observe the world around him. He opened up his eyes with a smile on his face as he came across something interesting below the surface. Scooping up a handful of the dirt and let it slide between his hands into the wind. As the last of it left his hands he theatrically dusted off, giving Daydream a playfully impatient look.
"So can I start showing off yet?" He stomped his foot and reached down his hands as if grabbing something before hoisting them over his head. The ground shook around them as it shifted. Not in abundance but enough to notice as the sand shook loose from the large piles surrounding them. The sand below him churned around him as slowly a large gray stone slowly surfaced under Geo's feet. Once it was fully to the surface Geo closed the ground below it. He beamed down at the redhead hoisting up an arm to make a dramatic flexing pose.
"It takes a lot of minerals to make beauties like these." Geo hopped off of the rock landing softly in the sand. Turning around he tapped it lightly before leaning against it. "Most of the stones I use are hardened dirt, some minerals for structure. It would take me a bit to make a monstrosity like this." He spoke proudly. It was always easier in a pinch to make his own stones but ones like this made of primarily minerals were his favorite. They felt different, like they had a slight buzz to them.

Daydream snapped a few photos as he posed for her. She watched as he really began to ham it up for the camera. He wasn't shy in the slightest. "Just keep'ya hair up for the moment." Daydream snapped a few more photos while the ham continued to show off a big. She could tell he was getting anxious to show off for the camera. She sighed with a little smile and told him to let his hair down for a bit. She'd get a few photos with his hair down and choose from them later. Daydream didn't like to look at her photos till after shoot or session. It wasn't about frustration, or getting upset that you weren't getting the shot you wanted. It was about finding the perfect moment to cause while you were still in the moment.
Daydream watched as he seemed to summon something from the ground. It was a large mass, but she wasn't sure what it was supposed to be yet. She just took a few pictures with him next to it. "Alright then. Show me somethin." She said. She really didn't know what to expect. She had seem a few of the things he could do, but she didn't know the full range of what he was capable of. Daydream was going to ask him to shape that mass of dirt into something to sit on. For the final shot. She really liked the idea of him sitting on a literal throne of dirt. If he was capable of it.
Daydream got closer. Very close. She got low down to the ground for a few hero shots. Looming shots of Tristen from a low angle pointing up. It made him seem more imposing. "Ok let's kick'it up a notch." She said standing back up and taking a few steps back. She figured whatever he was going to do he was going to need some room to do it safely.
This should be good. She thought. Suddenly a thought struck her. Daydream decided that she was going to write an article about this. She was going to send it in with the photos she took here today. She the world a real shining example of a mutant who was making the world a better place. She would leave out the parts about murder of course. No one needed to know about that, and chances were that only people in Georgia were only going to read this article. But she'd be sure to get a few issues sent up here from her friend Delilah back in Georgia.
"Don't hold back now!" She yelled. The wind picked up. Right at the moment Trisiten Geo started to use his power. The wind blew Daydream's hair around her face. It was like even the wind was ready to see what Geo could really do. Daydream focused her lens getting ready whatever it was he was going to show her. Was he going to make dirt turn into some giant golem? Could he even do that? Oh what if he made the ground open up and he stood on either side of it! She started getting distracted. The anticipation of the 'show' making her a bit anxious herself. "Whenever you're ready." She said as the show began to start.
