The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura had spent days tracking this man. He was a minor desk worker for one of Jaagers medical companies. She wanted the flash drive the man normally kept on him. SO it was she had the man backed against a door in an alleyway an eighteen inch sword at his neck and a look of solid determination. She needed away into a local medical business that did record keeping for Jaager, a back up site. The demon's patrons would learn the folly of helping the man.
He was scared and told her he lacked the drive that was when the other blade on her other hand punched deep into the man's stomach a second twitch nearly severed the man's life but not quite his neck. She then casually kneeled down and began searching through the man's pockets. "Animal was telling the truth" she said to herself with a grunt, she took the wallet smashed the phone and then proceeded to make sure body identification was going to be tough, Aura was not familiar with forensics but knew enough about fingerprints to remove both and deposit them in the dumpster.
The body, well their was way to much blood to hide and she had a feeling her clever work would not go unnoticed anyway. She kneeled there over the remains again as she looked through the wallet, looking for anything identifiable. She was covered in a pink skin tight aura that gave anyone who watched the news who she was. Aura was one of the top killers in the city and her pink aura was very well known.

Astrid trudged her way down the streets of New York, a very obvious black cloud hanging over her head. She was so entirely fed up with being treated like a street rat and kicked to the curb each and every night. That was the third time she had been caught staying in a hotel room without paying, and the third time she had been thrown out immediately. She was beginning to suspect that the hotel employees were talking to each other and making it more difficult to just get a simple place to sleep each night.
Luckily, she had used some of her new cash to pay for a storage locker to put all of her things like her cello and spare dresses. It was getting to be a bit troublesome to lug everything around and find somewhere to keep it every day.
Her black eyes wandered the streets as she walked around mindlessly, no real destination in mind other than somewhere out of the way to sleep. Movement caught her attention not far off. There was a woman surrounded by a bright pink... Something.
Recognition sparked in Astrid's mind immediately. It was Aura, the woman she had seen on the news countless times! She had to get closer. From what she could understand about her personality, as long as she knew that she was a mutant, she would be safe.
Astrid stepped closer, trying to get a good view of what was happening in the low light. Aura was standing over something- oh god, it was a body. A real, live, dead body! Astrid couldn't believe her luck. It took everything she had not to squeal with joy at the sight.
"Excuse me," Astrid began, using the politest voice she had ever employed, "is you Aura?"
She stopped immediately at the sound, dropping the wallet as she turned around quickly to look upon whoever had talked. The dagger like blade on her left hand grew until it matched the sword length of her other blade. The fact the girl seemed so casual in her speaking was strange in itself. Aura could not complain but it was very rare anyone encountered her over a dead body and wanted to talk politely with her.She was young to and their was no way she missed what Aura had been doing. The proof was dripping down the alleyway walls.
"I am" she said her eyes looking over the young woman until they stopped at the wings. Aura smiles and visibly relaxed, the blade son both her wrists seem to waver slightly then began to flow back up the blade untill they dissopeared at her wrist, looking much like a pink see through liquid, leaving only a half inch coating over her skin.
"And you my young friend? May i ask who i speak with, it's not very often someone stops to say hello while i'm attending to business and certainly less often by, one with such lovely wings" she said tilting her head toward the body. She liked the girl already, most would have been horrified.

Astrid's bottom lip quivered slightly as she watched Aura's power display in awe. It was most definitely the coolest thing she had ever seen in her life. What made it even better was that the woman was even standing over a dead body. It wasn't every day that the young mutant laid her eyes on something that unbelievably cool.
>>"And you my young friend? May i ask who i speak with, it's not very often someone stops to say hello while i'm attending to business and certainly less often by, one with such lovely wings"
She let out a noise of both shock and excitement at the woman's words and couldn't stop her mouth hanging open obnoxiously. She wanted to know who she was! Astrid was a nobody in comparison to Aura, yet she was being asked anyway! It was almost too incredible to fathom, not to mention that she said her wings were lovely.
Astrid coughed and then answered in the most confident voice she could muster at the time, "Valkyrie." She didn't really know what else to say after that, and there was no way that she wanted to talk too much and bother the incredible creature in front of her. That would be the worst crime ever committed.
Aura stood and looked over the young girl and smiled. She was unsure quite what to say as it was rare to encounter a girl like this, but Aura liked it. Somthing about the girl reminded Aura of herself as a kid and that both excited and scared her. "You obviously are not the average mutant, have you killed anyone before?" Aura asked casually. In truth she wanted to know if the girl had any blood on her hands.
"Valkyrie" Aura paused for a second, she was never going to recall this girls name nor did she understand the norse tie. "A good name. Tell me what are you beliefs? Do you just like to see dead bodies or is their something more?" she asked still curious and fascinated with the winged mutant before her.
"Walk with me friend, we don't need an MRC unit after us tonight" she said considering the Meta issue as well. The robots were tougher then people though Aura had learned some of their weak points she had yet to fight one when an MRC adapted was present either.

Had she killed anyone before? Well... Astrid paused for a second. Technically, yes, but also no. She had killed that idiot at the sanctuary three times, but he had come back to life each time. So, yes, but also no. Astrid chose the answer she wished it was and replied with, "yes. Is kill earlier."
>>"Valkyrie. A good name. Tell me what are you beliefs? Do you just like to see dead bodies or is their something more?"
Man, that woman knew exactly what to say to her. She had blushed bright red at the compliment, and could feel her face growing warmer by the second. She averted her eyes to the ground so that she could hide just how happy the comment really made her. It was better to seem aloof and controlled, she figured.
"I being evil," she said in a confident voice. Whether that meant killing, stealing, or otherwise, she was going to do it. So far, killing had seemed like the ultimate goal. "Kill is good."
Then, Aura both invited her to walk with her, and called her a friend. Astrid's heart skipped a beat. How did she get so lucky as to run into her? By that point, she couldn't help the smile that had covered her pale face. She walked just a little behind Aura, not wanting to step out of her place. "Where we go?"
Aura was a bit dismayed at the girls words. SHe had killed but the idea of wanting to be evil and killing simply being good was an issue for Aura. One she hoped they could correct soon. "Killing can be good or bad or sometimes both. It's all in the reason. I kill because i want to save and protect our people, Mutants from these animals. My hands are to stained with blood but my hope is that one day people like me won't be needed" she said hoping if nothing else she was conveying herself well. The last thing the city needed was a another psychopath murder. She also knew if the girl started killing mutnats she would have to hunt and kill the girl before her.
"Their is no good and evil, nature is a cycle. Certain monkeys were replaced by humans and they in turn are being replaced by us and one day we to will be replaced. Our role is to take our planet and do with it what we will until that day" Aura said.
She changed her mind on their destination, where first Astrid had seemed perfect for the cause she and Seyta were setting up but now she had more questions that needed to be addressed first. Not to far, i have a warehouse close by we can hide in until the cops are done with the area" she suggested looking back at the girl, she could not help but hope this went much better. Their was still a chance but it was not the one she ahd first hoped for.

Aura was saying something about nature and the cycle of good and evil, but a lot of it went right over Astrid's head. She was talking a lot of English very quickly, and she was sort of distracted by how cool Aura was. The gist that she did get was that she needed to work harder if she wanted to achieve her goals.
Her face was covered by a lazy smile as she followed behind Aura. She didn't really care where they went, as long as she had time to watch what Aura did. They were going to a warehouse, apparently, which sounded fine by her.
AUra never noticed the other woman wa snot getting what she said. She hoped she was understanding what she was trying to say but could not be sure. It took a few minutes for them to wind up at the warehouse she wanted to come to. Aura was pretty sure here they would safe and she knew it would be private.
Aura entered the warehouse and waived the other girl in, it was a bit dark, even as the lights came on it was obviously the place had not been cleaned ina very long time.
"Have you been in new york long?" she asked casually sitting on a box, which was missing a side. Many of the boxes were damage or a bit broken here or there. "It can be a very hard place to get sue to you know" she said with a friendly smile and hoped she would be able to help this girl.

Astrid followed after Aura as they entered the warehouse, the same doe-eyed expression still plastered on her face. It was dark and smelled of must and filth. Normally, Astrid definitely would have minded, but at that moment she could care less.
She took a seat on a broken box next to Aura and splayed her wings out behind her, careful of the broken glass. She put her elbows on her knees and leaned forward to listen more closely to the conversation, trying her best not to miss any more of the English.
"Little time," she informed the older woman. "Short months, maybe." She had started to lose track of time with nothing to differentiate her days with. Sometimes they just blended together, but occasionally they stuck out. Like she knew that one would.
