The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Camille enjoyed the parks at this time of year. Partially due to the scenery, but also in part due to the fact that there were usually still plenty of people about. She was sitting on a bench with a notebook open to a half written song resting on her thigh, and fiddling with the pencil in her hand absentmindedly. Admittedly, Camille had originally come here to write, but now she was just watching the people go by, curiously trying to see what she can deduce from the behaviors she observes in the people who go by.
Here, a man in an ill fitting suit rushing by, maybe late for a meeting, or even a romantic date. There, an elderly woman playing with two little children, presumably her grandchildren. Her feet occasionally drew some odd looks, but for the most part, they weren’t significant enough to be that noteworthy to people in this day and age. “Well would you look at that pretty little birdy.” Well, most of the time. A couple teenage boys were staring at her, laughing and acting like immature fools. Not that that was uncommon among teenage boys.
She figured that if she ignored them, they’d probably get bored. It’s not a guarantee, but either way, she pointedly turned back to her notebook. However, it seemed like it wasn’t working so well this time around. After a few more cat calls, she noticed that they were moving closer. She doubted they were stupid enough to do something major, but she also had no desire to put up with them either. A nice sense of dread, combined with a little compulsion should do the trick. Not to mention the fact that singing creepy nursery rhymes can be unsettling in and of itself. So, with her ‘battle plans’ drawn, Camille stood up and turned to face the approaching boys.

Ty loved the park; any time of day, any time of the year. It was so peaceful, so close to nature, and not to mention one of his favorite stomping grounds when it came to picking pockets. But there was to be none of that today; he was taking a personal day off from robbing, car-theft, and all around mischief-making.
Well, those were his intentions, anyway. As he was walking, he heard some teenagers not far away making trouble, and it didn't take him long to figure out what the fuss was about. Nearby was a girl, obviously a mutant. And they were teasing her. At this point, his moral instinct kicked in, and he walked more briskly, positioning himself so he was in the boys' direct line of sight. Putting his hand in his pants pocket, he let his palm touch the only thing in it: his blade. Gripping the handle, he began to 'write' random memories on it. It wasn't to booby trap the knife, by no means. As always, his eyes glowed red when using this aspect of his power.
"Got a problem with mutants, boys?" he threatened, taking a fighting stance and ignoring the passing phase of nausea as his eyes returned to normal. Briefly, he glanced behind him to check on the girl they were terrorizing.

Camille was about to open her mouth and sing, until another boy stepped forwards, eyes glowing red and looking like he was ready to fight the teenagers. Chivalry still lives, apparently. The teenagers were already starting to shift uncomfortably. They hadn’t exactly come for a fight. They pretty quickly started saying they were just having a little fun, that they didn’t mean any harm by it. Which was probably true, though it didn’t make them any less annoying.
Camille couldn’t help but smile at the scene before her, thinking that this was almost like some sort of fairy tale. The knight in shining armor facing off against a group of evil bandits. Only difference being, Camille wasn’t a total maiden in distress, even if she wasn’t directly powerful if worse comes to worse. Once the mutant boy turned to look at her, his eyes no longer glowing, she gave him a wink, then looked back at the group and started to speak, letting her voice give a sense of dread. Her normal voice may not hold the same power as her song, but it would probably suffice. “You know, irritating mutants is something of a gamble. You never know what they are capable of.” She gave a little pause for effect, then continued. They already seemed ready to skitter off, but she figured she may as well finish the little spiel she had started.
“I’m a siren. I can hypnotize you and kill you with my song. Care to hear me sing?” That was a pretty big exaggeration of her abilities, but the response of the teenagers was almost immediate, saying they didn’t want to hear and all that jazz. It didn’t take long for the teenagers, and a few of the general passerby within earshot to clear out of the area. She just hoped she didn’t scare the other mutant too badly.

"Maybe I beat down annoying punk teenagers for fun," Ty replied to the kids, still with a stern look on his face and not slacking from his stance. When the mutant spoke, Ty listened, trying not to smirk because he was pretty sure she was exaggerating just a little, but it was still a lesson worth learning.
"And you wanna know why my eyes glow red?" By that point, the little brats were tripping over each other, as well as a few unintentional unfortunate bystanders who just happened to be within earshot. Ty chuckled to himself, then turned to the girl.
"You alright?" he asked, extending his hand to shake. "I'm Ty."

The boy’s threat to the teenagers had been amusing to her. It just sounded silly. “Thanks for the help, even if it probably wasn’t needed for that type.” She knew the type, since they are probably the most prevalent type among teenagers. Annoying, but manageable.
“Either way, my name’s Camille. Hope the fear didn’t affect you too much.” She said with a smirk, knowing full well it wouldn’t have been strong enough to affect him that badly. Unless he was already worried ahead of time, but he seemed fine.
“Also, I must say, your threats were pretty amusing.” She teased. He looked rather serious, despite the whole charade being not much more than a mild nuisance.

"Eh, I know teenagers," he replied with a shrug. "They tend to take a kick in the pants in order to get through their thick skulls so the lesson'll stick."
Giving a warm smile, he relaxed considerably. "Nah, not too bad. Though, I really could've taken 'em easily, despite my frame. I didn't mind helping. Besides, I just get tired of people being stupid. Mutants aren't exactly a new phenomena. Get used to it, ya know?" He looked her over; her visible mutation was rather interesting.
"Well, despite that little adventure, I'm still taking a free day. Sorta, chill. Relax, that sorta thing. You're welcome to hang, if you want."
That was pretty accurate, and she couldn’t help but give a small laugh, “Yeah, a kick or ten. But if I learned anything from high school, it’s how to put up with, drive off, or even use such idiots.” Those people were pretty irritating, but… There usually isn’t much you can do to cure teenage stupidity.
Either way, “Yes, we are not as new a thing anymore, but kids like that? If I’m right, I think it had less to do with the mutation and more… Just the dumb stuff many teenagers get themselves into. I still find it amazing that kind of teenager ever makes it past even sixteen years of age.”
Camille smiled a little at the invite to hang out, “As long as you aren’t planning to lure me into a van or dark alley, I wouldn’t mind the company.” She certainly wasn’t adverse to making to making some new friends, and even more so with getting to know some other mutants. But… “I am legitimately curious though, why do your eyes glow like that?”

Ty smirked, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, I'll say. I kinda...don't want kids just because children turn into teenagers..." he mused, mostly to himself, yet out loud.
"Heh, yeah that's very true. I often find myself wondering how something so stupid can think it knows everything..."
At her remark, he had to laugh, though he had to admit he did sound pretty suspicious there, just randomly offering to hang out. "None of that really suits me, I'm more of a slasher-fic kinda stalker myself," he joked likely. "All jokes aside, that's not my style. Just thought you could use some company that isn't a group of total *******, ya know?"
When she asked about his eyes glowing, he had to smirk. "Well, let me start off by saying...I was totally bluffing. I have the ability to see everything an object saw, just by touching it. Also, I can impart my own thoughts and memories onto an object; when I do this, my eyes glow red. It doesn't do anything, really, except for come in handy when presence matters." He gave a soft shrug.
“Kids are a pain regardless of age!” She shook her head and laughed, “Annoying brats as children, who then become teenagers who aren’t any better.”
She then pouted jokingly at his slasher comment, “Aw, but it’s hard to talk my way out of a situation when I have a knife in my neck! Kind of inhibits the whole talking part.” Camille had to admit, she liked Ty’s sense of humor. She gave a small laugh, “I wouldn’t mind some company. I was getting a little bored just sitting around.”
Camille tilted her head a little as she considered Ty’s explanation of his powers. Definitely an interesting one. Then, with a little smirk, “Well, with that power, I’d probably try to be careful around chairs. You may not always like the look of what it has to show.”
“I wasn’t lying about mine, at least not entirely. I can’t kill anyone with it, at least not directly, but I can use my voice to manipulate people. I can’t force someone to do something, but it can be very effective when used right.”

"Kids, I can handle. They don't know any better. Teenagers are just half-baked A-holes," he answered with a slight grumble.
"Eh, I may not be a patron saint or anything, but hurting women goes against my code of ethics," he replied with a small shrug. "Yeah, sometimes it's just better to have someone around. Even if it is a crazy guy with glowing red eyes who likes to scare teenagers~"
He chuckled at the chairs comment. "Chairs, I've never had nor wanted to use my power on. Luckily I can pick and choose. Usually I do it to check the authenticity of something, get dirt on someone...stuff like that. In my younger years I'd use it on clothing, but..." he let his voice trail off with a slight chuckle. He'd sort of outgrown that phase, though. Mostly...Maybe...
"That's still a pretty neat power. I'll make you a deal; I won't use mine on you and you don't use yours on me?" he asked, though the look on his face made it clear he was teasing. Mostly.
Camille pursed her lips a little and bobbed her head side to side, as if in deep consideration, albeit that the actions were a bit more for show as she returned returned to her seat. “Maybe, although they’re still annoying.”
>”Eh, I may not be a patron saint or anything, but hurting woman goes against my code of ethics.”
“Good to know.” She then leaned back and stretched her arms above her head a moment before letting her hands settle on the back of her neck in a relaxed posture, She then laughed brightly at his admission of using it on people’s clothing. “I’ll be sure to keep you from touching mine then.”
“So, what kind of work do you do, if you don’t mind me asking?” May as well get to know him a little bit. “I’m trying to become a professional singer, and I had originally intended to work on a few pieces I have been writing here, although I wound up watching people go by instead.”

"Oh, don't worry, I've grown past that," he explained. "Like I said, when my powers first surfaced...yeah, I wasn't avove it by any means." He chuckled lightly, remembering how many times that little move got him in trouble. Or you know, nearly killed.
Another day, another person he meets asking what he did for a living. And he had yet to answer this question one hundred percent honestly. "Well, I don't have a set job, per se," he said, telling the same mostly-truthful-statement he always did. "But, I do a lot of odd jobs here and there that utilize my mutation."
