The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Dark had once again settled over the city, and a certain young Fisher found himself back to his usual routine, wandering the city. Tonight, he found himself in the park; not up to trouble, not trying to get away. Tonight, he was just enjoying life, for the most part. Things were looking up for him; he had Tses, they had their own place, things were coming back together okay with Roach and the Order. Life was pretty good.
He took a breath of fresh air as he walked on the park, the bitter cold not bothering him too much. After all he was bundled up in his leather jacket, and on his head was a beanie he'd picked up from somewhere. He didn't know exactly why...but he loved it. And it kept his head warm. And it looked good on him.
Ahead, he saw a tree; it'd been too long since he climbed one of those bad boys, so he took off jogging towards it, jumping up and grabbing the lowest branch and shimmying up, making his way up the tree. To see a squirrel running down the trunk. "Sweet...squirrel," the ginger thief noted.
During the summer months squirrels were an abundant and easy enough creature to capture, but during the winter, when they had to fatten up and spend much of their time bundled up in a nest for warmth, that was the good time to catch them. Though he now had a home and employment, Sylar couldn't break his animal habits, still finding himself hunting the little snack creatures down to settle his hunger and craving for the hunt itself. He'd been sitting in one tree, when he'd found a nest. However, as always seemed to happen to Sylar, people found him when he least expected it.
Someone else had jumped into the same tree, snatching the lowest branch and waking the squirrel with his movements, sending the fat little mammal straight down the tree. See, generally up a tree was the safe place, so most creatures didn't expect the predator to be up there, and it seemed neither would Ty as Sylar descended from the upper branches, his claws tearing at the bark like it was paper. Like a nightmare, the sewer mutant would emerge from the shadows of the tree and greet Ty with his snarling face hidden beneath hood and hair. Looking normal to Sylar's vision, he immediately assumed Ty was an unfortunate human who had run into him like so many times before.
The boy growled, his voice alien and unnatural. "My squirrel..." He growled in defiance, before dropping down past the branch and smashing against the ground below, crouched low to the ground and his tail rising up to striking position. "Bad night for a stroll human." Sylar hissed at Ty, putting on his best "scary" face to send Ty running off into the hills from the display. Once he'd scared this human off he could finish his night by finding another plump little treat and heading home to sleep the following day off. What Sylar wasn't aware of though, was that he and Ty had far more in common than the syllables of their first names.

When the monster emerged from above him, Ty jumped, sending him crashing down to the ground below to land on his back and mutter a string of cuss words in a very Tses-like fashion; it seemed the blond was rubbing off on him.
"I don't want the squirrel..." Ty found himself muttering, then he took a good look at the thing--well, as good as one could in the dimly lit park. But then, he said a word that left Ty with a look of nothing except disgust as he crawled to his feet. "I am not human," he hissed.
"Wait...I think I've seen you before..." he murmured, thinking, filtering through his expansive collection of memories and trying to remember where he'd seen this thing. Likely it had to be from a vision, which made it so much easier...sarcasm fully intended.
Crouched low, like some hellish mixture of a dog preparing to bite and a scorpion preparing to strike, Sylar couldn't be described as anything but monstrous and intimidating, though it was mostly an act. The human seemed staggered as well, muttering before suddenly finding some courage at the word human. Sylar's voice was hallow and fierce "You certainly look like one..." However it was the next string of words that struck him enough to make him think. Seen him before? Nobody saw Sylar and didn't become either afraid of him, or be introduced to the creature behind the monster, and he'd never met this human before.
Sylar swayed back and forth, checking Ty out trying to figure out if he knew him or had interacted with him ever. He couldn't think of anything so he spoke, his voice a little more cautious than ferocious. "Maybe you have, but trust me, you don't want to see me." Sylar growled again, his tail purposely snapping back and forth to show how dangerous he was. However Sylar was curious, why hadn't this man taken off yet? Only stupid people and mutants could stand up to Sylar for long...or stupid mutant girls in the case of one he didn't much care for. "Aren't you going to run?" Sylar questioned, still a bit thrown off by the situation.

"Maybe I do, but I'm not one," he said, his voice oddly calm as he spoke. Inside however, his heart was racing, pumping load after load of adrenaline through his veins. At the same time, his mind was racing, trying to remember where exactly he'd seen this thing. But until then, he'd stall.
"Running. I've tried running before, used to be my first instinct. But running gets ya nothing but trouble. Even if you get away, the problem you ran from is still there, waiting. Sooner or later, you'll have to face it. But I don't see a problem here. You look scary as ****, but I've learned that isn't always the case--" His voice stopped as he remembered. The one vision he needed coming to him. Or maybe he didn't need it, all things considered.
"Oh ****..." He was the one who'd given Tses more than a run for her money on a few occasions. Heck...he'd beaten the crap out of her, and here he was looking the damn thing in the eye. "****"
Sylar was an odd creature, his senses tuned into fields that normal people could only obtain through technology, but unable to see the basics of the world that every one else could. Your voice might be calm, and your eyes steady, but your insides always gave you up. A pounding heart, burning blood, among other things all told Sylar when a person was afraid or at least bothered by him. So Ty wanted to play the brave card, which meant he was a mutant or stupid. Sylar would just have to up his game and leave an impression, a false attack would surely send the man running away.
Then Ty went on a speech about facing fears, what was this, the lesson at the end of a television episode? Facing your fears was fine when you had some down to Earth problem, oh you're afraid of heights? Well go ride a roller coaster and deal with it. Standing up to a cannibal monster? That was a fear you just accepted and hoped to never experience. Sylar hissed, an alien noise that chilled the air around him far more than any frost around them. "I'm not some fear of confrontation, or heights boy...." He tensed his form, purposely showing he was preparing to pounce or strike, his tail hovering to perfectly align with Ty's face. "I'm the real Boogeyman, the kind that eats stupid people." With a lovely dark emphasis on real Sylar was ready to play the part of deadly monster. Though it seemed Ty realized standing up to Sylar might be foolish at the last moment.
Sylar licked his teeth, showing off the fangs he held within his maw before speaking one last time. "Realize how bad the situation is finally? Go ahead and run, I like the chase." Of course this was mostly Sylar blowing smoke to make himself appear terrifying. Really he just wanted to hunt for a squirrel in peace and not worry about some random human bringing the police down on his head. He still had no idea that he and Ty were more than just two random mutants meeting late at night, a fact that would have shut down his "monster" mask entirely.

Ty tensed, unable to run. But he knew before he was told that it'd be a useless effort. "Like I said, running is useless. All it will do is prolong my death," he said coolly. Despite the beating heart and boiling blood, his voice was steady; he'd been face to face with death before, more than once.
"Go ahead. Maybe you can handle my explosive throwing girlfriend, but I have friends in higher places. Even if I'm gone, you'll still get yours. Oh yeah, I know about the blonde with the green light explosives. I saw every time you interacted with her--and no, I wasn't there." He had a poker face, and he held it well, but this guy was more than creeping him out just a little.
If Sylar had actually wanted to hurt, kill, or eat Ty, the reactions he was getting would be great. But in reality he didn't to hurt him at all, he just wanted to be left alone to enjoy the park. He couldn't show his frustration though, and instead prepared to just knock Ty out and leave him to wake up sometime later thankful the monster didn't kill him. He couldn't resist however, commenting on Ty's attitude towards danger. "Your survival instincts sucks..." He mumbled before lashing out with his tail.
Generally such a blow would have smashed Ty in the chest like a log and knocked the air clean out of his lungs, but this time the bladed weapon stopped just before hitting his body. Ty mentioned an explosive tossing girl, and Sylar only knew of one of those. At least old enough to be dating. "Wait..." Ty's statement had completely halted Sylar's momentum. His brain was struggling to put this image together, somebody...anybody could date THAT girl?! "You're dating that foul mouthed, angry little girl?" Sylar suddenly asked, his entire facade as the dangerous creature ready to strike completely abandoned. "What are you? The world's biggest masochist!?" Sylar was utterly bewildered.
He then realized he'd completely thrown himself off and was talking like a normal person. "Crap." He said aloud, before sighing and standing up, his tail however turning to aim the point of his blade at Ty's chest. "You seriously couldn't just run? I mean come on, look at me man." He pondered what to do now, his mood completely blown. "Look, I don't care how stupid you are to be willing to spend time with that girl willingly. But trust me, I'm far more dangerous than that Tses girl, and the people I live with are more dangerous than any friends of yours. So just get out of here before I change my mind." Sylar sighed again, pressing one of his claws to his head in a face palm at how dumb this night was getting. He mumbled to himself "And here I thought I was crazy..."

Ty's words staggered the beast? Sweet! Sadly his mind was still racing from the tense situation and the former thought was quickly eaten by the others. "Yes, and sort of," Ty answered, a calm-ish tone to his voice now. "I'm an adrenaline junkie at heart, factor in love and...well it's kind of a dangerous equation.." he explained, before finding the blade to his chest.
"I told you I couldn't. If I'm dead, I'm dead anyway. Besides, when you call a six foot cockroach Boss...well not alot would make you run away screaming like a little girl. But on that note...instead of running away screaming, I think I'm going to take you up on that offer before I end up a Fisher sirloin. But remember, no matter how crazy you are, there's always someone crazier out there." With a mischievous grin, complete with the matching gleam in his eyes, he stuffed his hands in his pockets and turned to walk away.
So Ty was the world's dumbest masochist, or had to be to have any interest in that girl. Sylar couldn't believe it, he'd met Tses what three times? And he wished that number was negative actually, the girl was the most trouble he'd ever dealt with, and he wasa sewer mutant with cannibal thoughts. "No offense but I think you're just brainless. That girl...is a catastrophe." Sylar said, his usual stoic manner obliterated in this conversation.
Though the dangerous horror mood from earlier was gone, Sylar had no intentions of letting his guard down. A six inch natural blade at the end of his tail made sure of that. However Ty seemed undaunted or even encouraged as he continued on to explain himself. And again Ty managed to catch Sylar's thought in his throat. A six foot cockroach? There was only one of those. And then Ty was witness to one of the rarest things in the mutant world. Sylar laughed "Are you serious?" He mumbled through the laughs. "Let me guess, he's always cheery and never seems to let anything serious get to him. With a penchant for doing the oddest thing at a moment's notice?" Sylar said smiling a bit, how in the world had he run into somebody who knew Roach, here in the middle of the park at night of all times. "I don't know how you know Roach, but so do I." Sylar finished, staring at Ty intently.
His blade pulled back as Ty had turned to try and leave, Sylar's words probably all that would catch him now. Though he marveled that Ty actually turned his back on a deadly blade, considering Sylar could have at any time simply thrust forward and ended this night far more gruesome. "And I'd have to say I'm pretty crazy, I'm Roach's bodyguard." Sylar finished, attempting out do Ty's previous mention of working for Roach. Roach had power, and reach so it wasn't unusual to know people did what he wanted. But Sylar was crazy enough to live with the man, and learn at his feet like some sort of cannibal apprentice.

Ty turned to face Sylar, chuckling a little. "Well, then it's probably for the best things didn't end violently," Ty replied. "I mean...Roach's bodyguard killing one of his informants? That would be...bad," Ty replied, still leaving enough vague just in case. One never could be too careful, especially when monsters were involved. But things seemed to have turned around in the redhead's favor, at least for now.
"Ty Fisher. Resident psychic. Sort of," he said, tipping his fish-hat in a half-joking, half-respectful sort of manner.
Things didn't end violently simply because Sylar actually didn't want to hurt others. At least not when he was in control of himself, Ty was just lucky to catch Sylar during a period of lucidity. "I can't tell how much Roach values anything, so I've no idea who would be in more trouble, me for attacking or you for being attacked." Sylar thought out loud, still entirely blown away at how odd Roach was sometimes. It was like he simply didn't see the seriousness in anything...or maybe he was just so in control that it was all a big game to him. A scary thought, but Sylar let go of it. "And seriously, if you're going to work for Roach get some better common sense. If I had actually wanted to fight you'd be in trouble man."
Sylar's tone was still pretty hollow, but that malicious hiss was lost, instead replaced by a sort of boyish sound, like a pre-teen trying to speak like an adult. The human...er mutant introduced himself, Roach only kept mutants Sylar knew. At least as actual employees. So he was some sort of psychic? Maybe he knew Sylar had no intention of attacking and had just playing him all along? Psychics were not fun, Sylar was beginning to realize. Ty made some sort of motion with his head, oh he was wearing something on it, a hat? It was hard to make out besides being a bit of extra heat and shape atop Ty's head. "Er nice to meet you. I'm Sylar." Sylar returned the introduction. "What're you doing out here in the park?" He asked, furthering the conversation.

Ty chuckled lightly. "We'd probably both be in some deep ****. I'm not willing to find out though." The words 'common sense' made Ty snort. "Pretty sure it's not my common sense that Roach values, dude. I mean...him relying on me for my common sense would probably be like him relying on you for translating ancient texts. And I guess it's a good thing for me you didn't want to fight." Ty usually relied on his wit more than anything, and this time, it got him out of a tight spot, coupled with some well-placed luck of course.
"You too, all things considered. Eh, just thinking. Been too long since I climbed a tree, so...why not chill at the park, right?" He shrugged, still somewhat wary of Sylar, but more comfortable knowing they had a common ally.
A fairly accurate statement and joke out of Ty, Sylar certainly wasn't useful for his ability to read anything. When you found a living weapon, you used it as a weapon, so if Ty was good at information gathering, it would make sense of Roach to use that. Roach was oddly clever after all. "Roach might not have a lick of common sense, but that means you need extra, otherwise he'll get you into all sorts of trouble." Sylar said with a tone that just screamed Roach constantly got him into various types of shenanigans and trouble.
Sylar rarely wanted to fight, his fear of what he'd do if he unleashed himself holding him back, but that leash was very close to snapping lately, so Ty really needed to understand just how lucky he was. "You shouldn't rely on luck Ty, it runs out." Sylar remembered saying similar words to a friend of his, Evelyn, a girl whose knack for walking face first into danger was probably some sort of world record. Though Ty seemed to want to contest that title. "Especially around me." Sylar mumbled softly, not wanting to threaten Ty, but just to get across the point that he was in fact something to be wary of.
Seems they both just sort of chose the park on a whim, one for boredom sake, the other for a snack. "Well you spooked the squirrel I was going to nab." Sylar said flatly, giving away that in the end the whole event had been somewhat frustrating.
"I can think quick on my feet," Ty explained. "So, I can get out of the trouble my lack of common sense--or Roach--gets me into. ...Usually." The lad chuckled slightly at the thought of having to Santa-Claus it down a chimney to escape a group of trigger-happy gangsters.
"Everything runs out at some point; luck, strength, smarts, resources. The way I see it, when it's my time to die, I'm dead. No sooner, no later." He shrugged lightly.
"Sorry about that...maybe I can make it up to ya somehow."
