The easiest way to appease an arrogant Japanese God was to play at his manners and love of sycophancy. Both girls quickly chimed in with respectful tones and apologized, which distracted Ryoga from any real irritation or annoyance, instead leaving him focused on just engaging the city for the first time. "And I apologize for imposing so much. Mother was quite set in coming to America at a moment's notice, I"m sure my presence is quite unusual to your usual routine." The dragon said, an odd statement from him, an apology in return for theirs but at the same time you could taste the pride leaking from it. Evelyn offered to show some of the city while they waited upon transportation, a fair suggestion. "Mother seems to think highly of this country, but I shall see for myself. Lead on Miss Evelyn, Miss Amelia." The dragon finished politely, ready to follow the two girls as they chose where to go.
Amelia then went on to bring up one of America's greatest if not the greatest idols, the Statue of Liberty. The dragon turns to look where Amelia had pointed, and though his eyes were quite large, his vision was basically the same as a normal person's so he had to squint as well to make out the speck of light she alluded to. He'd like to see this statue in person, the way America's idolized the giant female holding a torch reminded him of the olden Gods of his own culture, people finding peculiar objects and building a shine around them, turning them into Gods that brought fortune and favor. This Statue of Liberty was the same, built of simple materials, and shaped in the form of a woman it managed to evoke many feelings for any who saw it.
Ryoga knew the feeling of evoking emotion in his subjects, so he was curious to meet what he considered an American "God". "I would like to see this statue up close at some point. I've only seen pictures of it before." Ryoga commented to Amelia and Evelyn.

Evelyn could see the body language shifting as the dragon considered what she had said. It wasn't easy to read a dragon, but the echoes were learning quickly, much like they had with Carrick when she first saw his gryphon form. Something seemed apologetic, yet smug still in his attitude. He was apologizing, but there was still something condescending about it. Her own pride had to be swallowed, at least for the moment.
Glancing in the direction of the statue, Evelyn considered how they could get there. While he arrived by boat, the typically ferry rides were intended for much smaller passengers. "We can try to arrange something eventually. Right now it would probably be hard to get you out there. Unless you wanted to be swarmed by tourists..." She commented, hoping to play off his ego a bit. If he thought tourists were beneath him maybe he wouldn't be offended waiting. She pointed ahead of them to some of the shops closer to the waters edge.
"There is lots of shopping in this part of the city. Lots of people like to just look around and browse." Okay, that sounded dumb. She was hoping Amelia had a better plan. There was a lot of improvising on this trip.
