The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"I'm surprised with the merger of Mondragon and Faust that the Order is not more advanced. I mean, perhaps it is, but the Sanctuary looks similar." "No offense, of course."
"None taken. And you should know, more than anyone, never to judge a book by its cover." Lenna replied mysteriously.

In the office, they dealt with details. She listened as he gave her a basic run-up of his myriad talents, taking slight amusement at the term 'Mondragonite'. What the hell was a Mondragon, anyways? Self-defense, marksmanship, and subterfuge, he listed. Those were important, indeed.
He asked for an Ashtray. That got added to the list.
Weapons and thievery, he went on. She nodded briefly, as he spoke. Lenna watched him as he moved. He was up to something. One thing she noted was his choice of words, 'my gift goes hand in hand wit that sort of thing. What that meant, she wasn't certain, but if she were to make a bet, she decided the bet would be that it had something to do with that lighter, and its being somewhere other than where it currently was. It was a gamble of an idea, but she was used to that. His roaming eyes and subtle glances back towards her and the lighter only helped strengthen this thought.
>> "Is this a real Degas?" He asked.
She said nothing, watching him as he considered it (and her).
>>"Hard to tell."
He retrieved the pesky lighter... and kept smoking by the valuable painting, which slightly irked her. Dropped his lighter, and-- She noticed what happened. Especially since his words brought attention to it, like a child who'd done something clever, and wished to dance about and let the whole world know. Well, maybe not that bad. But worth noting.
>>"Oh, there's that as well, but I thought I'd wait for the file to arrive. I do hate spoiling surprises."
"You're lucky I don't have any paintings I truly care about in this office. If my Delacroix were in here, I'd be asking you to put out your smoke," She smirked right back. That Delacroix was in another room. "Liberty Leading the People". Definitely more 'War Room' material than it was 'office'. The War room was all about revolutions. "Useful mutation, by the way." She added innocuously, just as the door to her office clicked open.
The blond secretary, Lisa, swept in with a drink for Roland, an ash tray, and a folder. She passed the folder to Lenna first, then set Roland up with his necessities, smiling professionally as she did. "Enjoy," she said, then nodding to Lenna once, she made her escape. Lenna had the file open, and was poring over it as Roland tended to his drink. "The X-jet, huh?" Note to self: Find that, in whatever cold storage it's in, and go for a ride.

"You're lucky I don't have any paintings I truly care about in this office. If my Delacroix were in here, I'd be asking you to put out your smoke."
Wasn't he lucky? The aside did not sit well with Roland, but it disappeared in the wake of ego, a swell that had caught him with his discoveries. At least Lenna's straightforward approach and mostly quiet personality gave her points. She didn't rattle on about uninteresting things. Her mention at his mutation was appreciated, as all compliments were, but his thirst was greater than his interest.
Like a nondescript angel from nowhere, Lisa appeared with his desires. Not in her own way, as robotic and monotone as it was, but with her delights. Roland quickly took his seat and crossed his legs, a single bead of sweat rising to his upper lip at the sight of the Jameson. He nodded at Lisa, who gave him no quarter, and then neatly tipped the glass back. The warm and woody timber of the libation moved through Roland's spirit like a lapdance. He was glad he hadn't finished his cigarette, it's long ash gladly dropped into the fresh ashtray.
Rolling his neck with a post coital satisfaction, his lips slightly smacked in thoughts of another. He glanced at the yellow ice but would not dare lap at it like a starving dog. Soon, there would be more.
Lenna was speaking of the X-Jet. "Ah yes, it was surprisingly easy to steal. Of course, I was working with Alexandra those days. Any word from her since the merger?" The thoughts of her curves and wild hair sat quite well with the alcohol's effects. They sat straight down.
Alexandra, she noted, must have been someone from the old Kabal. Her memory turned momentarily to names and old files, trying to make a connection. Made one. "Unfortunately, she seems to have slipped away when I was picking up the pieces Slate left the organization in. He wasn't very good at keeping tabs," something she hoped she was far better at. "I imagine they've updated their security measures since your theft, but it would still be interesting hearing the details. I'm sure you can entertain me with the story some time."
Her eyes flicked up to focus on him for a moment, and she gave him a brief approving smile, then she returned her focus to his file. He really did seem to be enjoying his Jameson and smoke. Time without did that to a man. A wry thought twisted the corner of her mouth, and she went with it.
"Feel free to keep the bottle." Lenna offered. "A gift for your interest in a position with the Order. Details we must discuss." Her eyes rose from the file to lock on his face.

Friendly time had taken roost yet again. Roland took the moment to relax a tad and enjoy a moment of perceived safety. Lenna's news, or lack thereof, of Alexandra's whereabouts caused a slight sting. Not one of longing or sadness, as the sting was not in his heart. 'Always fresh meat to greet', he thought to himself. Never the boss lady, however. Lori looked like a spitfire, but business and pleasure never mixed well. Unlike his Jameson.
Her gift of the bottle was welcomed with a "Don't mind if I do." from Roland, who promptly poured himself off another nip or three. After fully wetting his whistle, the soldier folded his hands, ready to discuss his favorite topic: Details.
"The Devil is in them, you know." Lighting another Dunhill with a flick of the wrist and the Zippo's answer, he let a satisfying cloud roll from his lips and nose before delving into such a wonderful topic. " Who's running the show at the Mansion these days? I imagine there are both fresh recruits and X-Men. Noel still with the MCD? I left a memento with her that I'd like to admire." The enemy's information was number one. Who would be gunning for him besides those he already knew of?
"Also," he continued after a freshening of his glass, "besides yourself, who are the top dogs of the Order? I like knowing the pecking order. For courtesy, of course." Roland knew that he would get his own cordial interrogation, so he chose to begin with his own and get some of his own treasure down the pipe. That's what information was, after all.
Lots of questions. She didn't know who Noel was, or anything about the MCD. She worked up answers for him, best she could.
"I believe it's the same old guard. Though one of my sources tells me Cold Steel isn't as popular these days. Something about stealing kids." She rattled off names like Shin, Streak, Saphirus, and any other relevant X-men she thought of, and mentioned that the X-men were now working with the NYPD and MRC as well. A pesky arrangement, that. As far as Lenna knew, the school was still being run by the same old headmaster, who was often busy and away. MCD, she pondered, might have been an old name for MRC? "Does that sound right to you?" She asked him. "Same MO?"
As for the Order... "Right now, we're running the order like a council, and giving the different leaders equal say. Syn and the Abyssi are on the council, and me, and Roach. Roach is our intelligence guy. Lori, unfortunately, left the Order. I didn't force her out. She just seemed to forget her allegiances." There was a slight edge to her voice as she said this. She remembered Kaitlyn's phone call about finding Lori, and the woman not remembering her... and all related tough times on account of that. "Seems like she visited someone who helped her forget. And gave her a kid."
