The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

When Kyle saw Sam relaxing his stance, a bit of the unease that had been growing in the back of his mind slipped away with it. While it was a good sign that the man was at least willing to listen to the possibility that he was wrong, Kyle didn't relax his form quite yet. It was one thing to believe that there might be a peaceful outcome in the near future; it was another to lower your guard when the possibly of violence was still floating in the air. Tracking Sam with his eyes, Kyle shrugged his shoulders again, opting to let Sam inspect and come to his own conclusions first.
It didn't take him long and any hope of the man thinking outside the box was quelled when the temperature started to drop again. Kyle arms still throbbed with energy, his whole body ready to spring into action should this contest continue once more. But, seeing as how this man wasn't thinking of anything other than "you killed a guy, you must be bad", Kyle realized he would have to explain instead.
"For someone concerned with the law, you're rather quick to judge. I've seen others who've killed many more wandering free and no one seems to bother them.
In any case, if you're going to demand I start talking, perhaps you should start thinking. Did it never occur to you that I was, in fact, trying to stop a robbery from being committed. Following that train of thought, what if one of the robbers attempted to physically remove me from their path, with weapon in hand and I simply killed him in self defense? No..you simply assumed I was at fault and decided I needed to be dealt with.
Now, unless you're planning on continuing this little distraction, the other three men that were working with this one are likely on their way back to whoever sent them. I would have had them had you not wanted this fight, and I'll admit, I thought I could win faster and be back on their trail. Now that its apparent that this would be drawn out, I politely request you either get out of my way...or you assist me if you want the truth."

The guy and his being so casual with killing, self-defense or not irritated Sam or not it was like he was dealing with himself from two years ago. ”Right, not my department. I catch them, then they lawyer up.” Sam shrugged his shoulders and didn’t say much else. Not much he could say he didn’t believe that serial killers got lawyers was good in fact he hated that idea but he couldn’t do much about it. It was the law and he promised the commissioner he’d do what he could to uphold it.
Sam disliked the man even more as he talked to him like a child, ”Oh poor me, I killed someone in self-defense and now I’m being questioned for said killing from someone who is doing his job.” Sam said sarcastically as he shook his head. ”Even if it is in self-defense I still got to bring you in so you can be questioned by someone. Dems the rules man.” Sam shrugged his tone far less sarcastic as he tried to explain how it went. Even though the position looked extremely shady to Sam.
Placing hand to his forehead, ”Start running in the direction they were leaving then, let’s get that truth but I still need you to come in for questioning. You can even wear the helmet.” Sam said giving a grand wave and a mock bow with a smirk, ”You were about to get your ass kicked anyways.” even if he got one or two hits in on his own. Sam’s ego wouldn’t give him anymore he was convinced he was just testing him.
If Kyle had been a simple man, both he and Sam would have been back to fighting over the simple battle of words they were having. The old him might have said to hell with it and went back to brawling with the man, which likely would have changed into a battle of mutants straight and true. The current him, however, remembered it had a brain in its body and opted for a more subtle approach. Shrugging his shoulders, Kyle casually walked to where he'd discarded his clothes, helmet included. It was but a matter of a moment for him to toss them back on, holding the helmet under his arm.
"Fine. Let them question all they want. The facts won't change."
Again, he bristled slightly at the man's assumption that he had been about to win, but fought back the urge to give him a friendly meeting with the pavement in favor of the bigger picture. Those men were getting away...Kyle simply wasn't going to allow that. At the same time, however, he wasn't going to allow himself to be taken in either. The best play that he had was to switch this man's target's to his targets...and then escape when the time was right.
"Hmpf, running? They left in a vehicle so I doubt running after them would do us much good. I hope you brought transportation." With that said, Kyle turned to the roof's edge, glanced down into the alley and then relocked the helmet upon his head. Then he jumped.
It wasn't as crazy as it sounded. Kyle had spent many years practicing getting from one place to another through unconvential means. The use of parkour was one of his best ways of getting around quickly in certain situations. Like now. His jump let him land on a fire escape, to which he quickly jumped to the wall across from him. Sliding down a few feet, he jumped back to the fire escape, catching on the railing and hauling himself up in short order. The sudden drop had put him near the ladder, which he unlatched as he grabbed onto it, sliding down to the ground where his bike was waiting. No sooner had the metal met concrete then Kyle was moving to his bike, gearing it up as soon as he was on it.
Casting a glance to see if his "tag along" was coming, Kyle revved the engine and headed off in the direction the van had gone. He knew almost where it was likely to go...he just needed to get there to confirm. And in the meantime, take the time to plan how he was going to get away from Sam when the time required it.

”I’m not too worried about getting around.” Sam said shrugging his shoulders as the guy grabbed his things then jumped from the roof. Not the smartest thing to do but he had seen Saph do far stupider. Maybe injuring himself charges the guy up. Sam then heard the clang of the fire escape and he was slightly relieved the guy didn’t have a death wish. Once the bike started up Sam was already in the air on his ice slide aiming down towards the guy as the rest of his body iced up.
Now that he noticed the bike the helmet made more sense and made it seem like he was just a normal biker with the ability to shoot our ray beams. Sam’s lone eye fixed on the guys plate and the make of the bike before he took off. If the guy did manage to give him the slip the plate could be run and the make and model of the bike could be identified or at least given to help track the guy down.
Sam lowered himself to almost ground level and shot the guy a look to let him know he was near before aiming the ice slide up and above traffic. From there Sam trailed the guy while notifying dispatch he was in pursuit and the stiff on the roof.
