The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

For a moment the man just seemed to be in limbo. She noticed his glance into her room, but when his eyes moved back to her it was like his mind went blank. Was something wrong with him? Her answer came quickly as he opened his mouth and spoke. She remembered he had wanted to have another discussion after their initial greeting.
"Yeah sure." Syn turned and walked back to her bed. After climbing onto the bed Syn sat with her back against the wall and crossed her extended legs. "If you'd mind closing the door behind you I'd appreciate it. I don't want anyone hearing anything possibly important that doesn't need to be heard."
In a nonchalant fashion, she turned and agreed, asking the door be closed and locked. Garrett did so, but only after waiting for her to be seated and get comfortable. The door was pushed closed with a click and the deadbolt turned to join it. He then found a chair to sit in facing the bed. It just wasn't proper to plop down on her bed. If there had been no chair, it would have been the floor or standing. The lingering feeling remained. He tried to let it go, or at least let it simmer while he spoke. Maybe it would come along on its own.
" I thank you for taking the time to see me so quickly. I'll try to be brief, but I have a bit to say. First, let me thank you again for allowing me to stay here and to work with you. I had a lengthy discussion with Isabel in the Cathedral, which is glorious by the way, and I felt like I should come here and speak to you and get everything out on the table. Clean and simple." Her eyes were piercing. She wasn't using them to pierce, yet they remained so sharp and keen that the air was probably being divided before them.
" I would like to become a part of your organization. I know it isn't for just anyone, but I believe I have much to offer. To begin with, I will be happy to share with you any and all information you would like about the Mansion and its residents. A humble gift from a follower wishing to prove my loyalty."
After her door was closed Seizure sat on the chair in Syn's room. She kept her eyes on him. Not that she thought he was going to try anything but more to show she was paying attention. Yet for some reason something still seemed to be edging at the man. Whatever it was didn't hold him back from thanking her some more. To that she gave a slight smile and a nod. When he complimented on the Cathedral Syn's smile broadened. "I designed it myself. I know it may not fit too many people's taste but it sure fits mine."
Now it was on to business as he mentioned giving up any information she wished to know about the mansion and those residing there. This is the kind of stuff that gave her goose bumps. Knowledge that she could use over her enemies. "I welcome all the information you have to share. Naturally I would like to know everything there is to know about the building, the residents and the X-Men. Any possibly weaknesses are of utmost interest."
She was the designer of the Cathedral. It was gilded and glorious like she was. " Your tastes seem to be exquisite. Varied as well, I'm sure." He crossed his legs and closed his eyes for a moment, taking a moment to resign himself to what he was doing. Perhaps it wasn't her after all. This was the defining moment that he had felt coming. He was now in the stream of totality. He was in the exact moment at the exact space that he was meant to be. Few people arrived at such a perfect state of being, much less had the capacity to realize they were experiencing it.
His eyes opened, clear and focused. " Well, where to begin? The Mansion. Its specific security is minimal at best, as I am sure you are aware. What you may not be aware of is that the walls surrounding the Mansion have cameras installed in them, recording those who trespass on them. Fortunately, the only vigilant person who ever bothers to check these tapes is out of town. That would be Neena. Most of the residents don't bother with security. There is actually no one guarding the place most of the time. It's pretty sad. That's why the man in black got in so easily. I saw him with you at the battle and I definitely saw him when he shot me in the chest with the dart that you pretended not to notice. Maybe you could tell me more about that as I go on?"
With Seizure spilling some of the security secrets about the mansion Syn continued to feel a new sense of power washing over her. She could find new ways to thwart the X-Men if she so chose to do so. Her mood changed when the man mentioned being shot with a dart. Syn knew she instructed Shade to use it on someone in the mansion to cause a stir. She just didn't think she'd be face to face with that person. Although, given the fact that she crossed paths with Iris after her experiment this was starting to become common in an annoying way.
"So they have cameras but only one person checks them, and that person is out of town. That's rather inconvienient for them." Pausing for a moment to think of more questions Syn then continued. "Approximately how many people are in the mansion that are X-Men or potential X-Men? Do they rely solely on their mutant powers or do they have weapons in the mansion? Other than Tricity who are some of the stronger mutants and what can they do?"
Syn's face seemed to light up at the first morsels of information. He could tell that he was making an impression. It irked him somewhat though that she continued to ignore the incident with the virus. He hadn't given her much though, so he decided that he would wait patiently. Surely with the amount of intel he had to offer, she would perk up and say something about it. Or perhaps not. She was the leader of the organization, though he used the term 'organization' rather loosely. She could really do whatever she liked.
"Approximately how many people are in the mansion that are X-Men or potential X-Men? Do they rely solely on their mutant powers or do they have weapons in the mansion? Other than Tricity who are some of the stronger mutants and what can they do?" Garrett thought on each question and did his best to answer them in turn." There are quite a few people at the Mansion. The vast majority are children or non combatants. I would put an approximation on team members, trainees and possibles at twenty. That may be low or high slightly. As far as weapons, I don't believe so. However, they do have the DocProf, their main healer at the Infirmary. His mutation heals basically all damage. This presents a problem as whatever is done to them can easily be rectified by a visit to the Infirmary. I've never seen any weapons as they generally rely on their mutations."
He sat for a moment and scanned his memories to be sure that he was speaking truthfully. " Of course, they do have the Danger Room, which can create basically any type of simulation for them to train against without any collateral damage. I have never seen the maximum setting, but have heard that it can be set to make the dangers real and even lethal. I've seen no weapons since then. The stronger mutants. Hmm. That seems to be relative. The assistant headmistress, Neena, who has been out of town on assignment for some time now, seemed to do well in holding things together. I believe Sam, known as Cold Steel and Shawn, known as Silver Streak, have been promoted to full members now and do most of the work that Neena was doing. Cold Steel creates and controls ice. He is quite powerful. Effects I have seen or experienced are ice slides for movement, encasing himself in ice as armor, lowering the temperature in an area. He is also quite capable of making various structures that vary in complexity. Also, he can create minions of ice which somehow act independently or are controlled by him. They are rather large and use weapons made of ice. I am unsure of how many he could create."
" Silver Streak can cover his body in a malleable coating of pure silver. he can form similar weapons and shapes as Cold Steel can with ice. Also, he can fly. Hmm. The blade-like spines he was using against Isabel at the battle is something I have never seen him do before, so that could be new. I can only go from what I have witnessed or heard about of course.Hmm. Oh yes, he can also phase through walls, ceilings and the like. I witnessed this on the night that we seem to be avoiding. He was the first one to encounter the man in black that is from here. The one who shot me. I would like to meet him sometime as I would like to thank him for awakening me." He knew he would most likely be explaining alot , so he tried to stretch a bit and make himself comfortable in the chair.
Syn processed the information as it was divulged to her. She tried to picture everything in her mind's eye. So roughly 20 possible threats but currently no one is monitoring the security. A mutant healer and the Danger Room. That was quite a bit of information right away. "Do or did any of them trust you? That could possibly be used to our advantage someday."
While waiting for Seizure to respond Syn looked to her mini refrigerator. Sliding off her bed she walked over and opened the fridge door. Pulling out a bottle of water she turned to Seizure. "Want something to drink?"
Okay, this aversion to mentioning the incident was becoming annoying. It was as if those things just meant nothing to her. They meant everything to him. He hungered for another taste of the stuff. It was especially tantalizing now that he was in the right frame of mind for it. Patience. He just had to wait longer. She seemed to be voraciously devouring the information he was feeding her. That was all well and good, but when her next question popped up, he didn't hesitate in the answer.
" Well, I don't know if they know where I've gone. I didn't make any tearful goodbyes or leave any long letters. Once they are aware, I suspect that they will be livid and want to attack me. As much as they go on and on about being "good" and defending people, they are really just thugs training for combat. The ethical and moral bits are more for show, in my opinion, as I have rarely seen much in the way of them other than words." He was not going to mention Maya. While his loyalties were clearly turned from their original direction, he would not sell the woman he loved up the river. Not unless she did it to him first.
He was a bit shocked at her mention of a drink, as he was just thinking of such. Instinctively, he quieted his surface thoughts and stuck to the facts. The facts that he wished to share. Perhaps if she thought she might remember the night she kept avoiding, he would remember details that he was purposefully omitting." I would love a water, thank you. All this talking is definitely drying me out."
Smiling and nodding to his response regarding how his former friends might view him Syn grabbed a second bottle of water at the same time. Stepping cloer to him she handed the bottle to Seizure. Once he had it she got back up on her bed and took a sip of her own bottled water. The cold liquid was refreshing.
After some thought Syn decided to indulge Seizure. "I know of the dart you mentioned earlier. I allowed another one of our members to use it to cause a stir. So no you weren't a designated target from the start if you have that lingering in your mind." She left off with that to see what questions Seizure would come up with.
Taking the cold water bottle and nodding in a respectful form of thanks, Garrett quickly stripped the cap and let the ice cold water slide down his throat. His body cooled and the sweat on his hairless done dried up in the air conditioning. He felt more relaxed and waited for Syn to mount her bed and get comfortable again before continuing. It was then that she finally mentioned the dart. Garrett's eyes lit up at its mention and he listened intently to her explanation. It had certainly caused a stir, but one inside his own mind more than what had occurred to the others.
"I know for a fact I wasn't the target. The target happened to go incorporeal and the dart sailed through her and hit me. That isn't the point, though. I actually wanted to thank you for it. It liberated my mind and brought my gifts to their true potential. What was it, exactly? Better yet, can I have more of it? I believe with the right dosage and the proper training, i could make that sweet elixir work for me. I would gladly volunteer for any tests you wanted to run with it."
The eargerness in Seizure's voice was totally unexpected. He actually liked what happened to him. This could make for some interesting possibilities. Here in her room sat a man who was practically begging to be used as a guinea pig. "If it helped make up your mind to come here because you know it's the right thing to do then you're welcome. Exactly what is your true potential though?"
Taking another refreshing sip of the cold water from her own bottle Syn watched Seizure's eyes. Afterall, they're the windows to the soul. "The dart had a substance called Haywire inside it. I'm sure I don't have to explain what it does."
Syn expressed her pleasure in the fact that the solution encased in the dart had awakened Garrett to his true potential and had ultimately brought him here. It had. Without that glimpse into ephemeral magnitude, he would probably still be cleaning up after someone's mess at the Mansion, plagued with worry and anxiety. He was a different man. In his opinion, everyone should take a dose. It was like looking into the eyes of gods.
"The dart had a substance called Haywire inside it. I'm sure I don't have to explain what it does." It finally had a name. Haywire. He suspected that it was due to the lack of control and the general chaos it caused those around the recipient of the solution. Garrett felt it was a prototype for something that could see the evolution of their kind realized in a much shorter number of years than Nature could provide. " Not at all. I am well aware of its effects. As for the potential it gave me a glimpse of, there are basically four branches of meural manipulation. Seizure, Pain, Inaction and Oceraction. All were transformed from thought and eventual planning to the immediate forefront, to be dleighted in. I believe that with the right amount of testing, a manageable dose could ultimately be created for short term use. It has so many applications and I would like to assist any way I can to see those applications realized for our mutual benefit."
"So what you're saying is you want to be a volunteer guinea pig because you felt new kinds of pain from the does you recieved? I have ideas for Haywire's usage as well. To be honest, I've already thought of the possibility of a Haywire juiced mutant. However, the applications aren't prepared for such a test as of right now."
Syn was a little surprised at the enthusiasm in Seizure's voice. She had never met anyone who wanted to feel the effects of Haywire for a second time. Though briefly disturbing Syn began to smile at the idea. "Very well...if you'd like to assist in that area of research then so be it. I want you to think of something for a moment first. Think of a super mutant, or another term for a mutant with Haywire enhanced powers." The girl took a sip of her water while she let her words soak into Seizure's mind and awaited his response.
"So what you're saying is you want to be a volunteer guinea pig because you felt new kinds of pain from the does you received? I have ideas for Haywire's usage as well. To be honest, I've already thought of the possibility of a Haywire juiced mutant. However, the applications aren't prepared for such a test as of right now." Garrett chewed at his lower lip, the thought of the stuff flowing through his veins again. "New kinds of pain. It was more like sensation. There is a place in the mind, spirit and body when pain ceases to be less than enjoyable. This is undoubtedly why there are many who find a link between pain and pleasure. It eventually boils down to sensation. My own nervous system is highly attuned due to my own gift, so perhaps it really is pain I am feeling when I am under its spell. I know I like it, whatever it is." He tried his damnedest not to let the gleam in his eye over the conversation twinkle too brightly.
"Very well...if you'd like to assist in that area of research then so be it. I want you to think of something for a moment first. Think of a super mutant, or another term for a mutant with Haywire enhanced powers." This seemed an interesting question. It would surely be his own codename at some point, so he wanted it to fit him. He had to also consider the essence of the project, so it wasn't too obvious in passing." Hmm, how about Vulcan? It is not an obvious title, so it could be mentioned in passing. The idea came to me since Vulcan was the Greek God of Fire and forging. The very process of Haywire's effects upon a mutant, in my humble opinion, is one of irrevocable change. It is as if our ability is the raw material which has the heat of Haywire applied to it to forge one, as myself, into a more evolved being. It is just a thought, though. " He had a sip of his own water bottle as he looked forward to whatever the beautiful young woman might have to say.
Seizure's opened up a little more on his personal feelings while experiencing Haywire. In a way he sounded more like a drug addict. As odd as it might sound that was something Syn never agreed with. However, given the fact that this was related to Haywire and it's possible applications the girl listened.
The code name Seizure suggested sounded good. It would allow Order members to discuss the project with more discretion should someone over hear them. "Project Vulcan sounds pretty good." Syn looked Seizure over briefly. "Is there anything else you'd like to discuss or ask?"
