The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The topic of conversation continued as words were passed around the room Luke lost his powers and everyone was responding to it, upon mentioning of his powers being gone he thought he spotted a dark foreboding cloud appear over Raina’s head as her face lit bright red. His instincts told him not to look but when she spoke with an icy tone the icemancer shivered slightly before looking ghost’s way. “Regardless if it was a guy at the labs, he isn’t here now and your powers returned, and Luke’s…” Sam risked another glance at Raina’s face before finishing his thoughts quickly, “hasn’t….”
Looking from Ghost to Shin to Luke Sam cleared his throat, “Alright the meeting is coming to an end, but before we leave, I want you all to know I have talked to most of the members of thee team and almost all of them seem to be on board to continue their work.” said Sam cheerily for the most part trying to forget Raina’s past out of tone response. “Unfortunately Nathan was one of the few mutants that I couldn’t get in touch with, the other I’ll be having a meeting within a few days, I am sure DeathStar rings a bell.” most would know her as the one with a temper something Sam hoped he could fix, if she was going to remain on the team she couldn’t be a loose cannon.
“Sounds good Luke, see me when you can, and I’ll run a few ideas with you,” he paused before looking around one more time his headache gone and his skin crawling with goose bumps of excitement, this… this was going to work he could feel it. “Missions will be coming your way soon so get me your long term schedule a.s.a.p. so I can try and plan around it. Also those folders contain the new prospects mutations so try and plan around that to give them a hard time, I don't want tryouts to be a cake-walk!” clearing his throat one last time Sam said, “Dismissed!”

Once more Streak listened to Sam talking. It was good that this wa coming to an end because he probably needed to get back to watching the movie playing behind his eyelids. It was to bad that Nathan was unreahable because he'd seen him in action and the guy was really good. He was also a good guy to talk to. Streak had only met Deathstar once at the party and thought that she was pretty muh a loose cannon. It would be interresting to see if she'd participate or if she'd accidentallyy hinder whoever she was with.
Streak did think that she would be a great asset in a battle and he'd definitely like to have her on a mission with him a couple of times to see if she'd take the orders given to her or if she'd do what she wanted. That wouldn't be aceptable no matter who it was that did it because Streak knew that that could prove dangerous and possibly fatal. Streak was brought bak to the meeting when Sam announced that they were dismissed. Slowly Streak grabbed the papers in front of him and got up to leave. Streak then remembered that he wanted to talk to Raina about taking the position of Team leader. He figured that she might not want to talk about that, at least not right now because her response told him that she needed to talk to Luke about his powers. It seemed like everyone wanted to talk to Luke about his situation. Streak was sure that he would find out from someone who'd talked to him. Streak picled up the papers and started to walk out of the room by himself. It sounded like even though the meeting was over people were going to be having personal meetings that didn't involve him at the moment.
"Yes. My powers did cut out. It was most... uncomfortable." As was the bed of his truck and the resulting headache. "It was like a mutant power." She shrugged. Except that he had said he was human. And that had disturbed him to not be able to categorize himself.
She nodded to Shin about the dragon so distracted by the drama that she forgot that her nod might not be all that visible.
The roil of smoke fidgeted. Raina was pissed. Ghost had no idea why. From her perspective there was nothing to be all huffy about here. It had to be something else. And now Luke was mad. it was enough to make a girl's head spin. The tension in the room mounted and Ghost didn't know what to do.
Sam's call of dismissed rang as a chorus of angels. There was no way she was getting roped into a lover's spat she had nothing to do with. She was just trying to be helpful.
So helpful little Ghost made good with the getting the heck out of there. "Uh. Good luck." She wasn't even sure who she was talking to. It just felt wrong to split without some kind of goodbye. A blast of wind ruffled teh papers left on the table as she moved far, far away.

Oh no. Luke lost his powers. Wasn't it this past winter that Raina found herself unable to ice call? Oh and what about now- since that stupid dream about Rupert. She couldn't transform now either. Was she sitting here in the meeting blathering on about it telling everyone before she told Luke? Nope. No way. No how. How insensitive. All she cared about at the moment was giving the truly blind man a piece of her mind, which in a normal state wouldn't really seem fair. Raina didn't give a rat's hiney about fair right now.
When the meeting ended and people started to leave she did her best to calm herself and then she approached Luke. "I think we should talk." she very very strongly suggested. "In my room maybe. I think it's the only privacy we're going to get"
They hadn't spoken since Luke dropped Rupert off at her office. Granted, Raina may have been avoiding him a little... he'd clearly been missing his powers long before that and didn't tell her.

As Sam dismissed the meeting Luke could almost feel something like a ball of ice forming in the pit of his stomach. "I don't hear Raina singing though..." He thought to himself as the sound of chairs scraping on the floor signaled everyone beginning to leave.
"Thanks." He said with a tight smile in response to Ghost's offering of luck even though he knew it was going to do no good. It didn't take luck to build a relationship, it took hard work and lots of trust. That was something that Luke hadn't exactly been exibiting over the past few days and apparently Raina agreed.
"Yeah... we probably should." Luke replied quietly as he slowly stood to his feet, nodding his agreement to the mermaid. Standing there, something popped into his mind and he began to fidget with his cane just a little. He felt like an absolutely idiot for having to ask this but he really didn't have a choice.
"Uh, you want to just meet me there or do you mind taking my arm?"

"Yes. My powers did cut out. It was most... uncomfortable." Ghost replied.
Shin shifted, scratching the back of his head with his left hand. "Yeah, that would be pretty tough. Don't know what I'd do if I ever came in contact with a human nerf."
>>“Dismissed!”
"Oh, good. I was just thinking ice cream. Anyone want to--" He glanced down at the papers as Ghost flitted off. Streak was gone. Luke and Raina were preoccupied. Shin picked up his own folder of papers in his left hand with a sigh, and rose from his seat. Guess it's just me, Ben, and Jerry again tonight, Casty. ... Maybe you'll cut down on the coffee-flavored ice cream eventually? Yeah.
Yeah.
Back to training in the danger room, one man with a broken arm against the world, he supposed. Shin slid the folder under his arm and he wheeled around the table, and walked frostily past CS out the door.
