The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Koga sat atop his perch and observed quietly. A woman had turned into water. He was pretty sure it was Arielle... a man, he recongnized him from New York, he couldn't place him but he was vaugely familiar in the way he moved. He was bouncing around the world below fighting a battle with someone that was neither Katrina nor was it Sara. Sara was speaking with the woman named Alex.. Kat was more then likely invisible and observing.
All and all things were going just fine as far as he could tell. so he simply sat and waited, observed and waited to strike. If he didn't have to intervene then he would simply be proud of his two favorite ladies, though he had to admit that this was moving more smoothly then if he was operating it. He subconciously let a slight hiss roll from his reptilian lips. it was the sigh of an impatient lizard man.
So he sat as a sentry waiting for something worth noting. Then he would move and disable those that opposed those precious to him.
By the look in Alexandra’s eyes, she wasn’t going to make this easy for Sara. Not that Sara expected her to. The two girls were very simulate in one sense. When they decided something was going to happen, it was going to happen. Sara was going to keep the president alive.. .. .. For now.. .. .. And Circe was dead set on killing him. No Puns intended.
"Protection, Sara? Do I look like I'm doing something I don't want to?"
“Not one bit.” Sara admitted as Alexandra lightly shook her head. The movement of her hair and neck giving away, right where the communications devise was located in Sara’s 6th sense. The exact shape and lines of travel etched them selves in Sara’s mind becoming brighter than the other lines of movement. She was still tracing the odd shape that followed the pattern of water in the back of her mind. Also the individual with a tail seemed to still be watching them from above. So long as those two individuals didn’t get involved, this was turning into a fair fight. Sara weighted her different possibilities in her head. “I suppose that trying to talk you out of this then, Circe, would be out of the questions. No taking a larger pay check? No .. .. ..”
Sara was cut off as the sizzle of lightening sounded behind her. Her vision shifted from the 6th sense back to her normal eye sight, and Sara casually glanced over her shoulder to find Katrina’s illusion of an invisible mutant with lightening. As if she was just going to stand there and watch.
The lightening arched right for Shade’s leg, and just as it was aout to hit, Sara’s ears, under the illusion of a human, pinned back against her hair. Bracing against the sound of the thunder crack. In the same moment, she used the sound and light as her own distraction and just as fast as the lightening had arched, before one could even notice the ringing in one’s ears, she had moved right next to Alexandra. One swift left hand moved straight for the ear piece to either get a hold of it, or knock it away. Not exactly caring if her claws or knuckles connected with any part of Alexandra’s face or ear that happened to be in the way of the communications divice.
Sara knew very well, that this exchange was going to be tricky, and probably painful.

Well...Alex had found herself confronted by the Catwoman Sara and Shade being confronted by an illusionist. Arielle had her sights set on the lizard man still perched above the grounds looking down wand watching everything unfold. Perhaps he was waiting for a chance to strike? This waiting game was getting boring and the water elemental reformed herself and then transitioned into her nymph form, taking flight and pausing mid air in front of the lizard man.
"...Hello. How are you?" the nymph smiled as her ruby pink eyes glared at the humanoid reptile. "So listen...we've been sent here to do something and you and your friends are sort of in the way. So if you would be a good little lizard and tell your buds to back off, we can all put this behind us and move on with our lives..." she said running a hand through her hair. "Or if I have to wash you out, by all means, I'll do that as well. Your choice. Choose wisely." she glared.
Alexandra choose to look at Sara mockingly. She didn’t hate her… perhaps she did back when she thought that Airyn would have been forever lost because of this woman. But now when she gained a family she just wanted to teach Sara that she shouldn’t mess with her, especially not when it came to her daughter.
She tilted her head to the side when Sara mentioned that there was no way to talk her out of this situation, make her change sides, to signal her approval to these words. As far as she was concerned, she was the one doing the right thing. Sara, the illusionist and any other mutant that might have been there were betraying their own kind protecting the Chinese president.
A sudden burst of lightning caught her attention for a second and Alexandra shifted her eyes to where Shade was having his own fight. It was enough for Sara to initiate her attack and when the green eyes of the molecule manipulator were turned back to their initial position, Sara’s figure was already speeding toward her.
Her first instinct was to turn her head to the right, in order to protect her face, while feet swiftly moved to turn her body around for about 90 degrees. Unfortunately, she was just one moment to late, as she felt the communicator piece being ripped away from her ear by Sara’s hand. Clawed hands brushed against her skin slightly, taking along the communicator bits of the skin of her neck. The scratches weren’t deep enough to be considered wounds, just a slightly stinging sensation. Nothing that Alexandra couldn’t have managed. Hell, she had dealt with wounds much more serious than some scratches from a cat woman.
“You little bitch.” Alexandra muttered, her hand going to her neck where she slightly touched the scratches then back down. Her green eyes reflected the anger that was being built inside the mind of the molecule manipulator as she kept them focused on her opponent. A small ironic smile appeared on her lips as she narrowed her eyes, while focusing her mutation on the concrete flooring of the square.
“Sara, Sara. As far as I am concerned, I am doing the right thing. You are protecting a man who had killed mutants. Hundreds of them.” Her teeth were gritted as she took a small step forward. “You are nothing but a traitor. One that needs to be eliminated.” Alexandra sighed as she tilted her head from side to side slightly. “You and your teammates, of course.”
Her hand rose abruptly, concrete following its motion, shooting upwards to form a dozen of balls that aimed for Sara from different directions.
Something shadowy flew towards her illusionary lightning manipulator, but Katrina didn't have a chance to react to it before it passed through him harmlessly. She was unsure if that shadow had meant to harm him or whether it was a way of sensing him. Either way, it was another trick that this guy had up his sleeve that she'd have to watch out for and seeing it made her wonder how many more tricks he had left.
As for her own tricksy arsenal, the illusion lightning worked better than she had even hoped. She almost felt bad for the assassin as he crumpled beneath his cloak. Then, quite suddenly, he was shrinking into nothingness like a wicked witch someone threw water at. She was instantly on alert, trying to sense where the mystery man had disappeared to. She checked first with the split off groups of invisible politicians and body guards, then looked to the battle between Sara and Alexandra. She couldn't sense the teleporter anywhere.
The idea that he may have retreated didn't make her feel any better. She preferred to know exactly where he was. For now, she would stay put to keep an eye on the small retreating groups of invisible men. They were almost to the safety of the invisible, armored transport vehicles that were waiting at the side of the road. Even then, they wouldn't be entirely safe, especially when a teleporter could pop right into the back of the vehicle. This body guard business was tough work. Unlike assassins, who had a specific point when they could know their job was finished, a body guard's work was never done. Unless they failed their task.
In Katrina's mind failure wasn't an option. She didn't even like the guy, but she had decided that deep down inside he had the same potential to be a good person that every human being had. Sure, he probably deserved to spend the rest of his life in a prison, but if he was killed it meant he could never learn new ways, never find that spark of goodness in himself that she believed was there in each individual. No one was fully evil, and it would be a shame to cut a life short before they ever had a chance to show their good side.
After a few seconds of calm for himself, Shade rose to his feet, testing the strength of his leg. Remarkably, it was stable with only some slight after effects from the blast of 'lightning' as unknowing nerve endings continued to fire randomly. With a now stable base, the shadow mutant could get back to the task at hand of killing his target. Thanks to his teammate Shade now knew of one specific mutant, an illusionist, that was out their causing trouble. However, he still did not want to run into that lightning mutant again. Also, he was now cloakless. Shade felt rather naked without it, but hopefully, he could use the dakrness beneath the fallen jacket as a refuge in emergnecies.
The shadow mutant reached out through the darkness until he found the roughly human shape where he could not teleport in. Either this was the illusionist or another invisible enemy. And their was only one way to find out. This time, however, would not be an all out assault.
Teleporting in the adjacent shadow from the illusionist, Shade's arm swung, releasing a newly materialized blade spinning towards the point of non-teleportation.
Her eyes strained for some sign of the teleporter in the half darkness. If he appeared, it would likely be in a shadow. She walked, turned, scanned every shadow. Across the square Sara was still managing herself. The Chinese men under her invisibility spell were still retreating into the darkness. The mist was still hanging in the air.
The first indication that the teleporter was back was the sharp edge of the shadow blade slicing into her left bicep. Silently, she gasped and stumbled out of the edge of the shadow in surprise. Her right hand clutched at the wound and her eyes widened as the half invisible obsidian blade melted into nothingness before her eyes. She put pressure on the wound, an invisible hand keeping her invisible blood from escaping. That hurt. At least the blow had found her and not one of the other invisible targets traipsing through the night.
Where had it come from? Her eyes, blurred slightly by the involuntary tears that had formed there, could find no indication of where her opponent was. An invisible predator stalked its invisible prey. She wasn't even sure which of them was which in that scenario. It didn't matter that she couldn't see him. If he was within knife throwing range, he was easily within range of her illusions.
It was about time to quit playing pretend. It wasn't difficult to imagine pain, especially with such a tangent example throbbing through her left arm. She focused on it, taking the time to really feel the burn of severed nerve endings. She imagined what it would feel like to have similar cuts over her entire body; the soles of her feet, across her throat, along each finger, inside her eyelids, cuts lining up like soldiers down her arms and legs. If the teleporter, or anyone else was within a hundred feet of her, they would now be feeling the pain of a thousand cuts all at the same time.
She didn't like to do it, and it wasn't because she could feel half of what her opponent could feel. It still felt rather violent to hurt someone, even if it was without injuries. Still, it was the best option she could see to disable someone quickly without permanent damage and still save the president's life. So sorry, shadow, she grimaced through the darkness and the pain of his blade and her own illusion.
Now now, Alexandra. If she hadn't of moved, Sara's claws wouldn't of even dug into her skin. She was lucky Sara's claws weren't fully employed. The communicator was twirled between her fingers for a second or two, before Sara forced her thumb claw through it. destroying the devise. The pulled the pieces apart, snapping the wires, then flicked them in different directions.
“You little bitch.”
"Sticks and stones Alexandra." Or in this case, Concrete, Sara watched as the balls of concrete were formed around her. Her pupils shrank to nothing again, as she turned off her sense of sight, and turned on her 6th sense that would allow her to track the movement of the objects around her, even if she wasn't looking directly at them.
“Sara, Sara. As far as I am concerned, I am doing the right thing. You are protecting a man who had killed mutants. Hundreds of them. You are nothing but a traitor. One that needs to be eliminated.”
Alexandra was going through thoughts that Sara had already confronted with herself. She was protecting the Chinese president, for the ability to try to help, yes. She'd also made the a plan of her own, months ago, should the president not learn from Katrina and herself. She shrugged at Alexandra as she took one step back to steady herself. Knees and hocks bending slightly in preparation. "Maybe." She wasn't going to deny anything, but she wasn't ready to agree either.
The large concrete circles headed straight towards Sara and she pushed off with her feet, attempting to jump above where they collided. Sara's foot was caught between two of the balls. Her inertia pulled her foot free in the air, but the price was painful the side of her foot had been crushed and scraped, leaving a line of flesh fur and blood on the two offending balls.
she flipped in the air, then aimed to land next to Circe, slightly to the right of her back. Her landing becoming much more awkward than originally planned thanks to the damaged foot. Given time, it would heal, but for right now, Sara would have to make due with only one good foot. She landed on the left foot, forcing the injured right foot out to the side where she wasn't putting weight on it. She shifted her weight onto her right knee, twisting her hips so her left leg went to sweep Alexandra's legs out from under her.
The concrete balls she had created had hit their targets and that was all that Alexandra needed to see. Her body moved backward, knowing too well that in a close fight against Sara, she would loose. She didn’t have a plan laid out in her head, she just knew that she had to be as far away as possible from the cat mutant.
Blue eyes traveled trough the air as Sara had jumped up into the air and now was sailing trough the air, aiming to land next to her. Concrete rippled once again around her feet and just as Sara was landing behind her, the material ascended with a quick movement engulfing the molecule manipulator’s legs in a cylinder that reached her knees.
In the next moment the frontal part of the protecting concrete opened, letting Alexandra to step away. A few steps away, she turned around, hands rising into the air as the concrete balls she had ordered earlier lifted of the ground once again. They began to move in a circular motion, some having small orbits, others wider, but one thing they had in common. In the center, it stood their creator. She increased their speed until only a grayish blur could be seen. Smiling, she looked at Sara. Dodge this.
