The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Well if you wish to let out your frustration you could always punch me , and I will not return the punch, but then again, I am sure you will get over it! ah well..”
"Punch you? And what, break my hand? No thanks." That earned another dismissive wave as she fell into step beside DK. She only shrugged off his cub comment. Lame people always had a hard time with proper comebacks. It wasn't that far to the kitchen and after a few hallways they were there.
“...feel free to help yourself, the lounge is right through that door. Would you mind putting the kettle on? I will be right back, just need to take a leak.”
"How... enchanting." She muttered as she sized up the facilities again. Hooo-ey! They had some serious funding here. She wasn't sure what to make of that exactly and... she wasn't exactly a master chef. Lori could hardly fry an egg, but she figured putting on a kettle to boil was a simple enough matter. Not too different from the science lab, right?
A few moments later she had her kettle of water in hand and yet she was scratching her head at the stove. She'd tried two different dials and they didn't seem to turn on the range that she thought they did. One had started the oven and another had turned on one of the back inductive coils... It wasn't the one she'd hoped to turn on but it was just as superb. She took mental notes on the logical fallacies of the stove as Lori settled the kettle onto the back coil. "One must be smarter than the machine..." She reminded herself with a nod. She would conquer the kitchen one appliance at a time.

Every once and a while, one of the brothers would come and visit the other, to catch up and chat and pass the time of day. So it was that day a Nissan Skyline was parked in the garage of the Sanctuary, and a tall, fit looking man with short black hair entered, he was dressed casually and comfortably, in clothes that did not restrict movement but looked fashionable.
Confidently he made his way to the kitchen and made himself a cup of tea. He was just standing by the lounge window finishing the first cup when he heard someone pottering around the kitchen and making noises that indicated frustration. Sighing softly to himself he made his way to the kitchen. He lent against the door frame watching the girl attempting to put on the kettle and then asked “Need any help?”
She'd managed to put the kettle on the warming coil and the warming coil was turned on. Honestly she could have explained the physics behind how the resistive coil system worked easier than she could have actually cooked something. Lori continued to rummage through the pantry even after the man spoke.
"Not especially." She replied in a cheerful manor. There had to be something like oatmeal or... a bagel... something that didn't require actual cooking. She frowned. On second thought she turned to look over her shoulder at the new addition to the kitchen: tall, dark, handsome, built like a single-action trigger pistol. She had her hands up to her elbows in the pantry. "Not unless you can cook that is..." She gave a dainty shrug and let him see in her face and her apparent bumbling in the pantry that she was no kitchen wiz.
"Name's Lori." She took her time extricating her hands and arms from the pantry. What had been nicely ordered boxes and bags was now looking quite disheveled. Mmmm she might have to straighten that up in a bit. Already the disorder was bothering her.
