The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

<"Incoming!"> Crystal got the report from her clone in the North, just as Pluto and Katrina vanished into a room. The only reason she could tell that both of them were now invisible, was that her sensor 'ears' in the room picked up Katrina's whisper.
Sonya, Crya and Kaz followed closely. Not long after that, Nox and the original Abyss came barreling through. And then came Geo and Mandain.
"Keystone Cops, anyone?" Crystal Number Two popped into existence beside Crystal Number One. Number One smirked.
"Classic slapstick is always the best. Any suggestions to help things along?"
"I dunno. I don't think there's too much else we can do to confuse things at this point. They're doing everything for us now."
Number One chuckled. "That's true. All right, let's wait to see which team finds her first, then decide."
"That'll work. Keep your eyes peeled. In a big confrontation like this, someone may use their powers out of habit." She grinned. "And if they do...."
"Game over."
The pair of them rubbed their hands together, grinning impishly, and turned their full attentions to the unfolding meeting.
Just after the rug incident in the front hall, Chilla had run off in search of a rest room. She found one further in the mansion, a couple of doors past the library. Having heard the commotion in the library, she finished her business and hurried out, almost colliding with Nox, who was running down the hall. Chilla then continued with Nox down the hall, asking, "What's going on?"
It didn't take that long for Geo to catch up with the others that were way ahead of him. If he didn't used to play football back when he was in highschool then it would have been alot more difficult. Buthe was sure smoking a pack of cigrettes a day didn't help. He was behind Abyss and Nox. He tripped a few times from the debry on the floor only to catch his footing and keep running after them. He was starting to get worn down by all the running and not being able to use his powers was starting to piss him off, he had gotten so used to using them for every little thing and now he couldn't. Hell he couldn't even see what they were all running after he was ust following the red rhino up-ahead of him and pitching in where he was needed.
And so Mandain followed the chase after Geo. Abyss was running like a mad man, and Mandain spotted Chilla to after a while. Running, running and running, 1 shot and it could all be over, if his powers weren't blocked that is. Jumping over object's and acceleration just a bit faster each time let him catch up with the rest bit by bit. "Are they far ahead Abyss" He shouted in hope for an answer, this running should be over soon, at least that was what Mandain hoped for, he started to get some pain aches in his thigh and it wasn't pleasant.

Hades saw a red monster blast past and quickly ran to follow, his movements swift, his breath sure, it was in moments like these that he was very very thanksfull for his spec ops training. "Any ideas?" he asked Kaz as they ran
Katrina remained silent, but smiled to herself. The gentle red giant seemed to be having as much fun as she was. She knew that they had little or no time before everyone caught up to them, especially if Kaz was on their tail (she was forgetting that he probably wasn't allowed to use his super speed).
Katrina heard several pairs of feet outside the room they were hiding in. Then, >>> "We aren't that fast, we search." Abyss blurted his answer giving no one the advantage, for if Nox heard him the other group did as well.
Katrina heard Pluto's brother's response, too. Abyss had a rather loud and boomy voice. It looked like they might be in trouble soon, but with two teams searching in the near vicinity, which one would find them first? Maybe if one of the other clones appeared, he would distract them into a new chase. Or maybe another Katrina...
>>> "Are they far ahead Abyss," Katrina heard another shout. They were not far ahead. Not far away at all. If any of them came into this room, she'd be ready for them. She had an illusion of herself in mind, ready to be a decoy. She just hoped she had enough energy left to pull it off. She had been invisible for a long time now, and keeping Pluto invisible was wearing her thin.
When this was all over she was going to be taking a looong nap.
(OOC: If anyone enters the room, they will see a fleeting image of Katrina disappearing through the opposite door, which will be able to run, complete with footsteps, all the way through the next room before disappearing.)
Abyss’ answer never found its way to her ear, and so presuming that he was still thinking she carried on after the others, as they hurtled down the corridor, which they somewhat unwisely presumed Pluto had sped down. Now slowed by the small crowd before her she wasn’t making such good time But then the lactic acid build up was starting to take its toll, and so the slight decrease in pace wasn’t completely unwanted. A nagging thought begun to irritate, with cries of ‘Abyss should have answered by now’ and ‘Why hasn’t he?’. With her mind still buzzing with adrenaline from the chase, however, it was a while before she heeded this.
(OOC Nox will, after everyone else has acted, turn around and perhaps notice someone going into a room, and so turn back and follow suit. But I’ll wait for you guys to post)
This is getting ridiculous, Sonya/Teresa thinks to herself.
She’d been following Cyra, who had been following Abyss, for a few dozen yards when someone appeared on her heels, apparently engaged in the same project. Whoever it was seemed in way better shape than Teresa (which seems to describe everyone she’s met so far, which is a little embarrassing), and besides Sonya was curious… so she’d pulled off to one side and allowed the horde to run past her.
The first person to pass is a woman Sonya doesn’t know, a slim blond who moves with efficiency and intent and a barely concealed air of wildness. That woman slows down to talk to the figure behind her, and she blinks in astonishment at the sight of Abyss.
Aren’t we chasing him?
That throws her for a moment until she remembers Abyss’ introduction of his clone-brothers. Though she hadn’t expected them to be competing with each other, there’s no reason she can think of why they shouldn’t.
On the other hand, maybe the first Abyss was an illusion? Maybe this team had split up somehow and Katrina had taken on Abyss’ appearance to create confusion. It’s something Sonya herself would probably have done, if she’d been willing to reveal her true abilities for a game.
Of course, without physical contact there’s no way to be sure. Even then, there’s no guarantee… after all, Abyss had been shaking the floor pretty seriously as he barreled past, so if that was an illusion then Katrina can create illusory vibrations as well as sound and images. So, why shouldn’t she be able to fool the sense of touch, as well?
Which ordinarily wouldn’t be enough to fool Sonya, granted, unless Katrina can also fool her special genetic senses. Which seems unlikely… at least, Sonya can’t imagine how anyone could produce an illusion of something they’d never themselves experienced. Then again, she’s discovering, mutations are tricky. And anyway, it’s a moot point for this particular exercise, given the gloves she’s currently wearing.
Behind them are three others, none of whom seem familiar… a nondescript girl, a tall blond teen, and a guy in his twenties with a funky haircut. Her own team caroms along with them. It’s interesting comparing the two – Hades and Kaz and Cyra all seem to be in peak physical condition, not only running full-tilt but looking impressive while they do it. The other team doesn’t… the blond boy is stumbling, the older guy looks like he’s reaching his physical limits, even the intent-looking woman who was leading the pack seems to be as tired as Sonya herself.
Meanwhile, they’re all shouting back and forth to each other… another way they differ from her own team, she notes, which doesn’t coordinate with itself much. Interesting.
Abyss and the blond woman peel off from the rest of the horde and start searching… for what, exactly, Sonya isn’t sure. Still, this might give her an opportunity to get to know the woman, and to see Abyss – whichever one of them he is – in action. So she follows them. "Mind another pair of eyes? Or do other team members have cooties in this little game?"
It didn’t take long before Nox realised something wasn’t right, maybe it was the lack of footsteps just behind her, or perhaps just simply the dragging time became suspicious. Regardless the result was the same: she took a quick glance over her shoulder, noticed that Abyss was leisurely conversing with an unknown girl, and stopped. Seeing their new lack of haste, she walked over to rejoin her group, which also now seemed to include the unknown girl. Several empty rooms later, their luck appeared to have changed, since, as soon as they entered, another door was slammed and accompanied by the sounds of heavy footsteps. Nox, being behind the others, didn’t see the illusions that went with the sound effects, but judging on what she had heard she believed they had just missed their target. Being at the back, however, meant that Nox had to wait for the ones in front to move before she could, since, alas, she couldn’t run through big red people. And so she was forced to wait before she could do anything.
Katrina had finally reached her limit. The second illusion on top of making both herself and Pluto appear invisible on top of making herself invisible for such a long time had finally put her over the top. It didn't matter that there were three people in that very room looking for them, Katrina was too tired. She leaned her head back and fell asleep right in Pluto's lap.
The moment she fell asleep and she lost concentration, her illusions. Little did she or Pluto realize, they were now both perfectly visible. Whoever turned around first would see Pluto holding the sleeping blonde girl and sticking out his tongue at the group.
Nox didn’t realise there were others in the room until Abyss’s lunge, which was rather hard to miss. With the tone of his voice and the fast pace he soon adopted, it was clear that the unconscious child bothered him, which was curious. Nox, however, felt that focusing on retracing their steps was a far more important task than musing over a young child, and so dropped the matter. A brisk march then ensued, though the corridors, the lawn, and even the hedges, which were far easier to navigate since their path they had left was somewhat distinct. The group had quickly reformed, and had now almost returned to their starting point, which, coincidently, doubled up as their finishing point.
