The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ali had been looking in a different direction when the vine snapped out at Vibe. The other vines sprang to life a split second after. She instantly wished she could use her power, but fought back the urge as she knew it would only hinder the group instead of help them.
Shogun and Kitra's shouts seemed to be the only answer at the moment so whether Vibe liked it or not Ali rushed forward while Voltair and Shogun held the vone. Grabbing Vibe by the arm Ali spun the girl around and pulled her back heading out of the death garden.
"I know we don't like each other but we need to work together and they may have just saved you." she said as she pointed to the men.

(OOC: Sorry for the delays all. Work has been killing me this week, and my computer connection seems to be faulty right now. With help from Customer Service (I hope) I should be able to catch up this weekend. Don't worry about waiting for me in the meantime however. I'll delete this once I post. Thanks, and sorry again!
Vibe jerked sideways as first Voltaire, then Shogun, lunged at her. No.... Make that lunged past her.
"What the he-"
"Somebody help me!"
Vibe's jaw dropped as she finally saw the attacking vines. She jumped away as another whipped out at her, landing on her stomach. She rolled over and scuttled back a few feet.
"Everybody, we aren't going to be able to take these things without powers. We need to move away from them, but because they're not living, I can't see them. So I'm going to need a little help to go anywhere."
"Shogun's right, we should get out of this garden, er garden of nightmares that is. You both need to let go at the same time. As soon as you do, we all need to hightail it outta here."
"What?? Oww!!" Vibe couldn't hear quite right, between the earplugs and the commotion. She pushed herself to her feet and away from the nearest vines, but one of them clipped her across the ankle. She staggared away, glaring angrily.
"On the count of three. One, two three!"
Vibe planted her feet stubornly. "They're just plants! Let's just find a weed whacker and-"
Ali's grip on her arm cut her off. "I know we don't like each other but we need to work together and they may have just saved you."
Vibe pulled away, making their forward progress slower than it could have been. "I don't need saving." she snapped angrily. "Just a giant can of weed killer."

Shogun let go of the vine, hoping the Voltaire did too. He ran behind Kitra, and aimed a kick at Vibe on his way past. "Shut up and move! Or you willl need saving!" He didnt pay attention long enough to register any response from Vibe as he then had to refocus his attention of Kit. Once he had cleared the garden of death, then he would return his attention to making sure his team followed suit.
Voltaire was pulling the vines with all his strenght before but, it still wasn't enough to keep them back. He was slowly losing his grip. "On the count of three. One, two three!"
On three, Voltaire waited for the rest to clear first. He didn't want to leave anybody behind so he stood his ground and gripped the vines a little bit tougher.

Pulling harder on the resistant Vibe Ali continues to try to pull the girl back out of danger. Thoughts of knocking the girl out pass through her head but she shakes them off. She can't do that. That's no way for an X-Man hopefull to act.
"Don't you think I would've blasted them already instead of having to drag your butt back? This isn't to test our powers. It's to see if we can work as a team. Now move it!"

Vibe reluctantly followed the others as the group moved out of the area. However the instant they cleared the dangerzone, she yanked her arm out of Ali's grip.
"I can walk on my own!" she snapped. She moved away, back toward the castle, still intent on finding a doorway in. However, she was noticeably limping. And scowling.
She paused to look down, and saw a nasty red welt across her ankle and calf. She muttered under her breath, and continued to charge forward, uncaring of any other traps she tripped. She just wanted to be done with this exercise.

Shogun sighed as Vibe marched off. She was likely to set off more traps, and make life generally harder. Shogun went after her, and put a hand on her shoulder. "If you ignore that injury you'll make it worse. And regardless of how fed up with the exercise you are; you chose to be here, so take it seriously! This is not about doing what we want, it is about learning to work with other people. If you are so stubborn as to not be able to nanage that, then get the hell off our team." Shogun was as fed up with the exercise as she was, but wasn't about to go into a strop. "Are you going to be part of the team, or leave? Your choice." Shogun tried to gauge her mind; she was stubborn, definately, but still, there was still something missing. Something awful had happened to her, but he had no idea what, and didn't particularly care.
As Voltaire left the garden he stopped to lean against the wall to catch his breath. The vines where strong and it took allot of strenght from him to keep them at bane. Suddenly Shogun started yelling at Vibe for being stubborn. "Both of you calm down a bit, But he does have a point" Said Voltaire. "You chose to be here so deal with it."

(OOC: Forgive my hypocrytical rant. Just adding a bit of emotional color to things. )

"Both of you calm down a bit. But he does have a point. You chose to be here so deal with it."
"Please, you don't have a clue what it means to be part of a team!" Vibe snapped at the samurai, ignoring Voltaire. "Or what if means to be separated from your teammate! I have to live with it every day! And if I was doing what I wanted, I would have gone and got my sister two months ago! .... I never should have left her...." Her voice softened, nearly to the point of being unheard.
Abruptly she whirled on the man again. "What right have you got to judge me anyway? The only reason I'm here is because they said it would help get Amp back. But I don't see what good being saddled with a blind old geezer does me there."
By that time tears had begun to well in her eyes, both in physical and emotional pain. She gave no thought to how hypocritical she might have sounded at that point. She just wanted her sister back.

Wow. He knew she was missing something, and it turned out to be her sister. How could anyone care so much about a person? It made no sense. Getting all emotional wasn't at all helpful. "And how did you think this was going to help? Did you think that the point of the exercise was to find Katrina by any means necessary? No, we're here to learn how to work as a team. If you're too choked up over your sister to cope wth that, then leave. Else, you can try to learn to work with people, and then you might be allowed to help when we go to free the captive mutants. Now, make you choice; leave, or let me have a look at that injury on your leg." He knew first aid, so he would be able to help; whether or not she accepted that help was her choice, but he didn't want to trust someone that was too stubborn to admit she needed help.
Kitra winced, she moved over to Vibe putting her hand on her shoulder. "We'll get her back, I know we will." She smiled, "And you've come a long way too. I think your sister will be proud of you." She looked at the rest of the group, "Let's get moving, now that we're out of that garden of horrors."
The out burst from Vibe was somewhat of a shock. Then Shogun fired back at the girl, but Kitra attempted to comfort Vibe as well as direct the group onward. Ali couldn't think of anything to say to add to Shogun's statment so she just didn't say anything at all. Instead she just waited for the group to push on.
Now, make you choice; leave, or let me have a look at that injury on your leg."
Vibe gathered herself up to reply with another rant, but one of the samurai's statements stopped her short. 'You might be allowed to help when we go to free the captive mutants.'
Might? Might meant, 'maybe not'. What did he mean 'might'?? Sudden dread filled her mind.
She felt Kitra's hand on her shoulder. "We'll get her back, I know we will."
>Yeah, but.... I want to bring her back....< She frowned at Shogun. The thought that she might not even be allowed to help rescue Amp bothereded her deeply.
"And you've come a long way too. I think your sister will be proud of you," the artist assured her. Vibe looked down at the ground, suddenly self-conscious. And her ankle throbbed. "Let's get moving, now that we're out of that garden of horrors."
The petite redhead shut her mouth. She didn't like Shogun. She didn't trust him either. But he was one of Hunter's men, and Hunter was the one giving them shelter and help right now, including help to retrieve the imprisoned mutants. Maybe he knew something she didn't. Or maybe he had more influence than she realized. Abruptly she was wary of upsetting him.
She limped forward to move on, though not with the same 'Devil may care' attitude. At least, not so that it showed on the outside.
Kitra frowned, Vibe was unhappy and she didn't blame her. And Shogun was not helping matters. "Everyone that wants to take out the camps has to be approved by Kaz. At least that's my impression as he is the one in charge." She shrugged, "This exercise is meant to help us with teamwork, not determining who will be going on the raids or not." She caught up with Vibe and put her hand on her shoulder. "At least let me bind your ankle up so it will be a bit easier for you to walk." She turned slightly to look at the rest of the group. "Perhaps we should all take a few breaths and remember that none of us have authority over the other." Her eyes narrowed slightly, "For now we concentrate on getting along and finishing this exercise." She went silent as she waited for Vibe and the others to speak up.
