The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Oh that makes sense." She saw Hunter hit Syn's copy, but she didn't feel it herself. "I knew you did it but I didn't feel anything." She grinned, "Hunter this is great, thank you." Kitra paused in thought, "I haven't seen Tris lately how is she?" Kitra yawned but quickly covered it with her hand. She was feeling a little woozy, just a little or so she thought. She moved slightly to get better balance and ended up blacking out instead.
Before Hunter had a chance to answer Kitra passed out. Her was at her side in an instant and caught her before she hit the ground. It was a short walk to the infirmary where he gently set her down on a bed so Ingram could give her a once over. He said she was just suffering from exhaustion, and that she’d be fine in the morning.
Rather than move her Hunter left her where she was and went back to work. There was still much to be done, but with Kitra’s powers now enhanced by his psychic work he was confident that she’d be able to step up and do her part.
Kitra yawned as she woke up and looked around. It looked like she was in the infimary. That didn't surprise her anyway. The last week or so had been rather tiring. She stretched and looked around as she got up. No one was telling her no so she left and headed to the canteen for food and then after that was all said and done. A nice hot shower. Then to find Hunter to see if he might have an hour or so to train with her.
Hunter was actually in the canteen himself. He was catching a bite to eat with several lawyers, who were doing everything they could to get the law revoked before he put his plans into action. Despite knowing that their probability of success was slim he still wanted to be sure that he tried every avenue of possibility.
Spotting Kitra enter he excused himself, telling the lawyers to keep at it and made his way over to her. “Feeling better?” he asked as he approached. He had not forgotten that she had saved his life, for without her quick reactions he would have suffocated right there on the floor.
Kitra blinked and swallowed her toast that she almost managed to choke on. She cleared her throat, "Yes I'm fine, thanks Hunter. Are you doing ok though?" She manged a small sip of water, "I was sorta hoping to find you but you found me. I was going to ask if we could possibly have another training session." She looked down at her plate for a few seconds, she trusted Hunter, but that explanation about yesterday wasn't enough.
Looking up she spoke again, "And perhaps I could ask you a few questions as well." Kitra's voice had lowered to the point of under a whisper but she knew Hunter could hear her. "I trust you but something about yesterday didn't fit Hunter. And I'm sorry for being suspicous but sometimes curiousity gets the better of me." She stopped and started fiddling with her fork. She hoped that he wasn't mad though.
“As it turns out I have some free time on my hands,” said Hunter taking a seat, “and so once you’ve finished eating we can go and do some training. While we’re at it I’ll do my best to answer any questions you may have for me.”
He had wondered how long he could keep the darker side of his mutation from the mutants he worked closely with. What he had told Kitra yesterday had not been a lie, his red blood cell count had been depleted from the exertion. However, he had neglected to mention that it wasn’t his red blood cells that had been depleted, but the ones that he had absorbed to carry the oxygen around hi system.
He could always lie to her, or mesmerise the curiosity from her mind, but considering as she had saved his life he wondered whether or not she would handle the truth. That was something he would have to think about before answering.
Kitra smiled, "Alright Hunter that sounds great." She was almost finished but she also wanted to clean up first. She finished her last bite of scrambled eggs and stood. "Hey Hunter if you don't mind, I'd like to clean up a bit before we start. Should we meet in the same training room in half an hour?" She brought her dirty dishes up to the counter, thanked the cooks for the nummy meal, and walked back to the table where Hunter was still sitting to get an answer from him. She didn't think he would mind, but it never hurt to ask.
“Of course,” said Hunter with a smile, “I’ll meet you there.”
Hunter actually arrived about ten minutes early. Feeling like he could do with a light warm up he took two swords off the weapon rack and stepped forward to face the three men opposite him. Each carried their own weapon.
Keeping at a light pace he wove amongst them, deflecting and dodging blows and he attack back, cutting so precisely while he sliced their clothes, not a drop of blood was spilled.
Kitra smiled and left the canteen. After showering and putting a light purple tank top and above knee high, black skirt, with her bike shorts underneath of course. She arrived at the training room about 5 minutes too soon only to see Hunter warming up. It was really cool, he was weaving and dodging around their blows and slicing only their clothing. She stood there watching quietly waiting for Hunter to finish.
Hunter, upon seeing Kitra enter, decided to end the warm up with his usual flare. With a few deft flicks of his blades he disarmed his opponents and drew a thin red line across their throats, no more than a scratch. Dismissing them he replaced his weapon in the rack and walked over to Kitra.
“So, are you ready to begin?” he asked, “What I want to work on is your ability to fight and use a copy at the same time, that way you can fight multiple opponents at once, or gain a numbers advantage against a single foe. Tell me, have you ever used one of your copies to fight before?”
She shook her head in wonderment. She didn't have the finnese that Hunter had and probably wouldn't for a long time. If she even was able to manage it at all that is. "No, actually I haven't Hunter." She grinned, "That will make things interesting then." She looked over at the weapons rack, "I think for the first time doing this, I'm going to use regular weapons. Make things easier to handle the first time. After I get the hang of it then I'll switch to making them."
Kitra walked over to the weapons rack and grabbed two boes, a black one and a purple bo. She twirled the black one in her hand for a few moments before tossing it high up in the air. She concentrated on her people sketches and grinned as a copy of herself appeared next to her and caught the bo as it fell towards the floor of the training room. "Shall we began Hunter?" She was grinning horribly and she knew it. Let's see what Hunter thought of her little trick.
Hunter nodded at her choice to utilise normal weapons until becoming more competent at fighting with copies. Her trick with the double catching the bo was a good one, and using a copy of her was a good plan. “Try to use a copy of you in a fight,” he said, “that way your opponent will become confused as to which is the real you.”
Hunter himself of course had not difficulty telling which one was her. Apart from them having different coloured weapons the copy had no smell. “Now, for starters we’ll just try you attacking me with the copy,” he said, taking a ready stance with the sword, “Be warned, I’m playing for keeps against it and won’t hold back fatal blows.” He would however fight at human levels. There was no need to employ his superhuman strength and speed, he could beat Kitra on skill alone. Once fighting the pair of them he might have to work harder, but for now he needed to see if the copy fought any differently from the real Kitra.
Kitra and the copy nodded. She knew this was going to be difficult but it would be refreshing. The copy rushed Hunter and slashed her bo upwards towards his torso. Kitra's eyes had narrowed to slits. What she was doing was weird. She had linked her mind with the copy's and was imagining it doing every move. It was doing it, a bit slower then she had wished, but speed would increase with practice. Now the only question is, can she manage to make the copy dodge Hunter's blows? She was at a different angle and watching the fight between her own eyes and the copy's eyes was somewhat difficult.
Hunter watched the copy move in slightly disjointed movements. It was nothing major, but with his acute senses he could pick out every detail as Kitra attempted to get the copy to do her bidding. The attack was sloppy and Hunter effortlessly blocked it with his sword.
His counter attack came in the form of a swift punch to the jaw. While there was only human level strength in the blow, there was still a lot of force behind it. If it connected it would knock the copy off balance, leaving Hunter ready for a more deadly attack.
Kitra's eyes widened, the copy moved backwards and her head snapped back as Hunter clipped it's jaw. She had gotten the copy to aviod the extremity of the blow but not all of it was dodged. Kitra grumbled slightly as she had the copy snap her bo upwards towards Hunter's midsection, reversing it before it hit his shoulder and swung to sweep his feet out of balance.
Kitra knew it wouldn't work, so she decided to add a twist. She brought forth one of her daggers and throw it at Hunter. Close, in it's shadows, was a second dagger, just to throw him off course and perhaps allow her copy to get in a blow.
