The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Letting her get the frustrations and fears out he just sat there, holding her gently. It wasn't a person who'd done this, who could hurt someone so much and think in their twisted head it was a form of love. It was the actions of a twisted monster, not a person anymore. Artairs people didn't remember much about their culture or history but there was always a common thread. Monster's were to be fought, resisted.
Destroyed.
"You mind getting her back to the infirmary lad, I need to clear my head. Get a handle on some things." The anger was tightly wound up inside him and it tinged everything he said. It was all he could do to stop himself tearing into the brickwork with his bare hands. "Lass, Derek with see you back OK? I'll be close by don't worry." Nodding towards his friend to lead her off, he stayed seated. Thinking, contemplating. What the hell was he going to do? In his state killing the man wasn't just a possibility, it was a certainty. Someone needed to rein the situation in, rein in Derek from losing himself.
Artair couldn't do it, christ it'd be pure hypocrisy for him to try.
When she was moved to Derek, she clutched at Artair still, shaking her head at him wildly. No... she wanted to say, please don't leave me now... No... But she knew she had to let go, and she did as much as it pained her to do so. She leaned heavily into her friend after that, let him take her to the Infirmary and just continued to shudder and breathe in a funky way...
God, this was all so messed up. She hated that she felt so freakin helpless at that moment. She hoped that something could be done about the man who was out to get her. She was so tired of this happening.

Derek wrapped his arms around Xavia's waist. He knew that he couldn't yank her from Artair, but in order for the Scotsman to do his job, she would have to let go. "Come on, Xavia. It'll be okay." He gentled tried to pull her away from Artair while whispering words of comfort and gentleness.
Derek hated seeing her like this. He hated everything that happened to sweet, sweet Xavia.
Sig made by KIMMIE Derek talks in a light southern accent.
