The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”Danger Room.” Sam answered if that was the only answer. ”Serena didn’t take you here yet?” he asked if he was slightly surprised. She might not have Abby was just a kid, might scare her too much but it was where he did most of his teaching. It was a controlled environment. Sure it could be random but it was still controlled.
”It’s not too dangerous, I’ll put it on a low setting for you.” Sam said as he turned to the stairs and went down them instead of taking the elevator. In truth he didn’t plan on putting it on any setting he was just going to have her punch and kick till he was happy with her technique, maybe teach her a take down. He still wasn’t sure but that was how he taught, on the fly.
The large metallic hallway echoed as they walked down towards the large metallic doors that ‘whooshed’ open and shut once they entered. The room was dark until they entered then the lights came on. Sam walked to the center and turned towards Abby and got into what he deemed was a fighting stance.

>>”Danger Room. Serena didn’t take you here yet?”
Abby followed Sam through the school. She knew where the Danger Room was and how to get there, but it was really just easier to follow. The little blonde tried to figure out what time it was. Would Cafas be in there? Or would he have already left for the Infirmary? Or had he even been there to begin with?
>>”It’s not too dangerous, I’ll put it on a low setting for you.”
Peeking around the room, Abby let her thoughts out. "I thought Cafas was here..." She moved slowly into the area. For some reason it felt weird walking into it with Sam. Or maybe it was because she put this time down as Cafas' training time. "Serena brought me here. We had training dummies that weren't really dumb."
Taking the last few steps, Abby put herself in front of older mutant and got into her own stance, though it was a little shaky. She hadn't actually fought against a real person yet. She waited for Sam to make a move. She wasn't a big fan of fighting and she knew her style was more defensive than offensive. Abbigail knew she was better at reacting than making initiating contact. A majority of her friendships started out with the other person speaking to her first.

Sam smirked when she mentioned Cafas. ”Yeah, he has been hogging the Danger Room a lot ore than I remember him doing.” Cafas was a fighter like Sam so it made sense that he’d be in here often. Odd that they didn’t overlap much. Maybe he should ask him to spar once and a while. Might make things interesting.
Sam hopped forward and grossly over telegraphed his punch. It was slow and heavy but if she wasn’t that confident or fast she might have gotten hit. ”Dummies are one thing…” Sam said with a little smirk as he followed the punch up with a slow kick to Abby’s legs. He had no intention of hitting her, sometimes the best thing a kid needed was confidence. A little confidence did wonders for a practice.
”Keep moving, hands up light on your feet and you better hit me back.” Sam said as he took another step forward and added a slow hook to her side lowering his stance leaving his back and legs open for an attack.

Dummies are one thing.
That phrase rang in her head as Sam began to move. The rest of his advice didn't really stick as well as the first bit. The fist moving towards her was... well it didn't exactly catch her off guard. She knew why they were here. It just. . . It took her a moment to react. Sam's hit was halfway to her by the time her body moved. This she knew was more instinct than training though.
Ducking low to the ground, making herself a smaller target and doing a kind of hop-step to the side got Abby out of the way. Now her training was coming to mind. His back was open. Still crouched low, Abby swung her leg at the back of his knee. Joints were weak points in the body. Knees were ones that kept most of your weight, and ankles were a bit to low for her to try to target. She knew her kick would be a little off. She was still new to fighting, but she hoped she'd at least hit something.

Sam waited till Abby moved and then kicked the back of his leg over playing the attack Sam made his knee buckle so it seemed that she did a lot more damage. Sam made a small ‘ouch’ noise then pushed his leg back to a good stance. Sam pivoted one leg and his body turned to Abby’s.
”Good kid, though when you strike keep coming or runaway and get some distance don’t just stand there.” Sam led his foot forward as he telegraphed the next punch this one more to her side. He brought his hand up to cover his head but left his rips exposed when he did so. Not something he normally did but it seemed Abby knew how to find some decent targets.
She might have been off a little on her last attack but she knew where to hit. Sam waited to see if it was just a lucky guess or more of a planned attack. ”Move faster, I shouldn’t be hitting you.” Sam taunted as he followed up stepping forward again with a palm strike to her stomach.

Abby preened a little at the hurt noise Sam made. Logically, she knew he was probably faking. She wasn't very good. But it still made her feel more confident. Not that confident. She learned that lesson with the dummies.
>>”Good kid, though when you strike keep coming or runaway and get some distance don’t just stand there.”
Keep moving. Abby added that to her budding plans. The next hit looked like it would go for her torso. She tried to do slide a little to dodge the punch while still moving forward for Sam's torso. He clipped her side. She spun a little, but she did get a small fist into just below his ribs.
Keep moving. She ducked and spun out from the invisible bubble she imagined as Sam's attack area.
>>”Move faster, I shouldn’t be hitting you.”
I'm new to this! she mind told her to scream at him. She clamped her lips shut and focused though. His next attack was aimed for her tummy. Abby knew she wouldn't be able to dodge that. Not after getting hit before. He was faster than her. Bigger too. Stronger.
Before Abby could really think through her idea, Sam's palm was too close. She wrapped her hands around his wrist and let him hold her weight as she kicked off the floor. No where in her lessons did this come up, but she was moving without true thought. Feet together, the tiny blonde aimed a double kick at whichever part of Sam her swing would take her too.

She was creative. She was smart. Sam’s hand connected with her and she used the strike to lift her off the ground. She held onto his arm making sure she close to him. She knew Sam was faster so she made sure to be in range. She got off a few strikes on him but with the double kick that was now coming he lowered her a little so she would hit his thigh. That was a good target, that or his ribs but he didn’t feel like having his ribs cracked so when she connected with his thigh he lost a good stance and stumbled backward.
”Shoot kid, that was good one.” Sam said fluffing her ego, ”I think that is the first time a kid ever did that in something like this.” Sam started to laugh as he pushed himself up and shook his leg a little. It was a great Charlie Horse, in fact if she hit the bone instead of his muscle she might have fractured it.
Sam stumbled a bit when he lowered his leg and put the weight on it. His muscle was starting to ache. ”I’ll have to keep that in mind. I sometimes learn more from my students.” Sam stood and bowed to Abby. Signaling that they were done sparring for now.

Abby's small body shook with the force she had hit Sam with. So much that she lost her grip on his arm. Her upper back hit the floor painfully, but she was too proud of her hit to be worried about the pain. The little blonde turned the rest of her falling body into a backwards somersault. She tired to get her feet under her, but instead ended up just sitting on her butt.
She grinned at Sam's words. First time someone her age did something like that. Instinct, but not wrong. Her legs felt like jell-o from the activity. But she was happy with the feeling. She had landed a hit that made Sam stumble!
>>”I’ll have to keep that in mind. I sometimes learn more from my students.”
Abby got to her feet shakily and bowed back. "I didn't actually think about it when I did it. Is that okay?" She wanted to make sure she could follow her instincts like that. She knew she had a lot to learn, but if her body knew things she hadn't been taught yet, that would be great!

”Nope.” Sam grunted as he laughed a little as he drew in some air, ”Better than okay.” Sam added as he pointed to his chest, ”Good targeting, caught me by surprise, and you’d get away safe.” Sam gave her the thumbs up as he cracked his neck once he stood up fully.
”All I want from my students, for them to be safe.” Sam smirked and then gestured towards the door and started to walk towards it. ”So you bring stuff like that to our next session I might need to wear some pads, tell Serena she's a good teacher.” Sam smirked, ”Any questions for today?”
