The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

They'd scored their first major blow to their would-be killer.
Saph rolled to his feet as a knife clattered to the ground, and he felt someone falter, and then recover before their presence faded once more. He reached into his pouch to grab a rubber bullet. He knew the general direction the man was in, and he couldn't be moving too fast if he was, his sixth sense would have caught that.
"I hit something. Must be invisible. Saph, keep back!" Saph had already come to that conclusion. Being told to keep back gave him pause for a moment, but he nodded; Shin was likely going to put up a good AOE attack, which would either take this guy out, or make him reveal himself.
Saph hopped back a bit, and remained alert.
And then the shard storm started. Jesus, he'd hate to be anyone stuck in that! He tried not to let the display distract him as it lashed out.
Unseen had been mid-plan formulation when the storm hit, and he gasped as a shard cut into his arm. Being quite the accomplished acrobat, he moved deftly to skirt around the edges of the main body of the attack. THUK!
"Hah!" Saph called out as unseen's face met non-lethal projectile. The ninja-like mutant had been forced to move fast enough to show up to Saph's sixth sense, which prompted a pelting. The shot made his invisibility falter, and unfortunately, it also knocked him right into the middle of the shard storm. Saph winced. "Yikes... wouldn't wanna be him. Shin... Shin you alright?"

No, he was not alright. It wasn't like he hadn't seen death before. In order of experience, past to present, he'd seen it in the cage matches. Giant's Bane had flicked a guy's skull like some sort of Anime Character, to horrible effect. And he'd seen worse before that. He'd been in the camps in Romania. He'd heard worse than that. There were so many other things he'd done and seen, and while he'd never killed yet in self defense, there is always a first time. It didn't make it alright. It didn't make him feel any less dirty. And the fact that his powers had kicked him metaphorically speaking between the legs for using them as he had did not help.
He'd eaten a turkey sandwich and some packaged cheese crackers along with a bottled water on the plane. It wound up on the floor. His head felt worse than that looked. He didn't even have the presence of mind to look at the guy they'd gotten. It's probably why he didn't notice the guy groan or shift uncomfortably. He was too busy groaning, himself.
Maybe Unseen hadn't been killed by the flying razors that had all vanished as the Asian lost his lunch. It would take some time for the Asian to get back to 100% and remake all the shards that had vanished. But he'd have it. Unseen wasn't getting up any time soon. And that might cost him, because he was bleeding very visible blood. If the blood loss didn't kill him, TAT would likely do it for him. Unless someone else beat them to it. The Asian hadn't killed him. But he might as freaking well have. That's how he saw it. Didn't even have the energy left to keep himself true to his name. Flickered into visibility. No sixth sense needed. There was a cut on his arm. On his stomach. Forehead. And leg. He needed a band aid, bad.
