Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.

The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Amber had known for some time that Sanctuary wasn't quite what it appeared to be. Oh, it certainly was a mutant shelter that was willing to take in any and all mutants. It fed and housed any wayward mutant in the city that happened to come through its large golden doors and the good it did was undeniable. There were things that just didn't quite seem to add up, however.
First, how was it that there was a ring of blocks around Sanctuary that were the safest place in the entire city for visible mutants to be outside? It took very little time for Amber to discover that reality and the answer could be as simple as the fact that the mutants that lived there sought to protect their own interests, but there were other things that made her suspect otherwise.
Then there was her own adopted father, Abyss, and his unsurpassed wealth. Where did a mutant like him get such funds? For that matter, he and Aura both were well known adherents of the mutant cause and she had known of her sister's fanaticism almost right from the beginning. These things, combined with certain hushed whispers and rumours, had to amount to something.
The one person Amber felt comfortable going to about these questions was her sister. Sometimes she didn't understand Aura and the things she did, but in the end she was pack and pack was everything. Exiting her own room, she walked a few rooms down the hallway and knocked on her sister's door. It was late afternoon, which she judged to be the best time to catch her sister inside and awake.
Aura sighed as she considered how much had changed in the few years she had been in the city. She had learned so much that in the forest she had been mislead and manipulated about. When she had back to Human land's she had expected to see what she had in the forest, war. Their was no war yet though Aura remained convinced it would come.
The city had been a tough learning curve and even now she knew she had way's to go. Still The Order had Sanctuary and around sanctuary was a mutant population which felt relatively safe. Aura took pride in this fact and as much as the Insurance scheme had annoyed her, it had forced many humans to move. The Area was dominated my their kind and Aura hoped it would spread to the rest oif the city in time.
The knock at the door broke Aura from her quite musing. Looking around she considered the fact that the room, unlike when she lived a lone was in tact. Opening the door, she smiled upon seeing her sister and invited her into the room "Hello, sister, how are you?" she asked as she closed the door behind Amber after she came in.
Amber tried not to let her shock be too apparent as Aura opened the door to her room and she had her first glimpse inside. The room was...nothing like she recalled from previous visits. The influence of Allison perhaps? That seemed quite likely. Not that she knew Allison well, but she woman didn't seem the type to allow the type of discord that had been so prominent in Aura's room previously.
"I'm doing well," Amber answered, accepting the invitation to walk inside. She smiled, unable to help herself. It felt so very good to be back with her pack; back where she belonged. Sometimes what she knew her sister to be capable of frightened her, just a little, but mostly she was proud of her. Who else was so confident in who she was and what she could do? Besides, dark though her talents were they were sometimes necessary.
"Do you have some time to talk? I have some questions I think you might know the answers too. About who runs this place." She vaguely gestured around her, not worried that Aura would take her question the wrong way. After all, she was pack.
Aura was caught a bit of guard with Amber's question, though she tried to hide it as best as she could. She had a feeling she knew where this was going to happen from here. SHe knew amber's real question had nothing to do with Faust Pharmaceuticals. She considered her options quickly in her head. It made sense Amber might find as the rest of her family were prominent order members.
Aura made her way back to the door, and locked it. If she was going to be honest, she needed to make sure no one walked in on them. "I will answer such questions, you need but ask" She said looking at her sister.
"Why do you wish to know about such thing's? And when you know, then what?" she asked, while not at all minding her sister joining the Order she did want Amber to realize the gravity of what she was asking her.
"Our father, Our Aunt and Myself are all Members, we fight for our people, surely you have noticed the number of Mutants near Sanctuary?" she said knowing almost anyone had done so. Mutant's in the area were much less afraid of reprisal then anywhere else in the city. The order did a lot of good, even if Aura could not always see it at first.
Amber nodded as Aura agreed to answer her questions. That she would was not something she doubted for a moment. Being pack meant something to her and, she knew, to her sister as well. Although she had come to identify with the mindset of being a pack predator, it went so much deeper than that. Family was family and that was as much a human thing as it was a part of her other half.
"Why do you wish to know about such thing's? And when you know, then what?"
It was a good question and one of which required a proper answer. As such, Amber took a moment to collect her thoughts before replying. "I know that you and Abyss work to improve the mutant position in the world. I suspect that others around here are doing the same. This is something important to you and thus it is something important to me. I have worked hard to stop being the victim and accept who and what I am, to embrace it even. I think, maybe, I should help others do the same."
"Our father, Our Aunt and Myself are all Members, we fight for our people, surely you have noticed the number of Mutants near Sanctuary?"
Amber nodded and smiled. "That is largely why I've come to you. No mobs attack poor wandering dinosaurs around here." The let a little bit of dry humour into her voice, remembering what had once been a very dark memory of a panicked mob chasing her down the street from before she could control her powers properly. Now she preferred to remember it in a lighter note, if one that taught her a valuable lesson.
"Their is danger in knowing" she said honestly. However even as she said that she wondered how much. With Abyss and Syn as 2 of the leaders, Aura felt Amber would likely be used to the best of her abillaties. " Helping our people is a very noble thing. Humanity remains a tremendous danger. " she said as she sat down on a chair in the room and looked around for a few moments before continuing.
"What are your feeling torwards humanity?" she asked the standard question. While she felt she already knew, she still felt it should be asked. While she was not sure if killing people was mandatory for membership, she knew a lot of the Order's members had killed before and done worse. She recalled stealing with Amber and the incident in the flower shop with the boom girl, but not of amber actually hurting a human.
"I am one of the more violent member's of the order. It simply comes natrully. However people serve in the way's they can and how their best at. " she said somewhat vaguely. Aura was sometimes asked to do other job's but for the most part the Order had been content to subtly influence things instead of the more direct and the more suicidal approach, Aura would have went for..
"There is danger is not knowing," Amber answered. "Some are lucky and can hide what they are; blend in with humanity. I'm not so lucky. By my very existence, that puts me in danger." Maybe she wasn't the most visibly mutated among her mutant peers but, especially in recent times, that didn't seem to matter. Her eyes gave her away and would always give her away meaning the battle her pack had taken on would eventually have become her battle anyway, with or without their influence.
Amber carefully considered her views towards humanity before answering. She knew of her sister's violent nature; how could she not? Once it would have bothered her a great deal and had, in fact, bothered her. She was a different person now, however, having been tempered and changed by her time in the Brazilian rain forest.
"I don't hate humanity, at least not the ones who remain innocent of the crimes against our people. But I am not kin to them either. They are not us and if it became necessary then yes, I believe I could kill one of them without hesitation. I do not think, however, that killing is likely to be my primary role. I think I have other talents." She was a killer, she knew that now. But for her, killing meant sustenance and that was different than killing for a war. Could she do it? Yes. Or at least probably. But she didn't think that was what she was most built for.
"It is true the danger's our people face or there weather one chooses to face them or not. " she said knowing as well as many did that just because you did not pick a side or pretended thing's were better then they were did not mean their was not still a clear threat out there. Idiots had even tried to kidnap Aura and if someone was willing to try that, then she could only imagine the danger to less well armed Mutants.
"The conflict between Mutant and Human is nature. As Mutants grow they will take more territory the humans will fight for. Killing humans on mass while fun also tends to attract attention" she said shaking her head. Her sister seemed far better suited for city life then Aura had when she had come to the city and entered the Order.
"We all have our Talents and our paths in life. As you may have guessed Sanctuary serves as a sort of recruiting ground, for the Order. It also provides wonderful cover, who would attack a mansion full of mutants?" she said with a shrug. The idea did seem insane however her mind went back to that one mutant who took on her and abyss.
"Evaluation creates new fitter creatures and wipes out the old, it is the way of things. though thats more my teaching...." she said with a smile.
Amber wanted nothing more than to live in a world where she didn't have to fear due simply to the fact that she was a mutant. At one time she might have been be naive enough to believe that was the world she lived in or might one day live in, but that was a long time ago. She knew better now; knew that the only way that kind of world might one day exist is if it was fought for. Her pack had taught her that fighting was worth it and her misfortunes had taught her just how necessary change was.
"Humans are afraid of us," Amber stated matter of factly. "They see us as a threat to their dominance. They aren't on the top any longer." It was such a simple thing to state and yet the reality wasn't nearly so simple as it sounded nor the solution.
"It would be very stupid to attack a mansion full of mutants," Amber agreed with a knowing smile. "There are a lot of very angry mutants here. Its sad, I think, that they should hold such anger and such pain in their hearts. I wish to help them so that they need not hate so much and if joining the Order is the way to do so, then that is what I wish to do."
For Amber, it wasn't about a hatred of humans because she had none. They weren't pack nor were to kind and she felt little towards them at all, except those who decided to strike out against her kind. If they were the victims in helping her own, however, then so be it. Nature was never a kind place.
"They can not help but be afraid, by instinct they know them selfs to be doomed, as our evaluation is a signal of that" she said agreeing. Human fear was understandable and the fact some of them were trying to fight was as well. Aura could only see thing's getting much worse and eventual war on the horizon. More humans would wake to their instinct and fear would spread.
She knew her sister could add to the Order as well, with her powers. SHe obviously had the power to go unobserved for quite awhile, as she had as a dinosaur managed to stay hidden and off news. She felt a strange emotion flicker through her head, the idea that if Amber did join the Order she could be hurt or killed. This was a propect she accepted as being part of a Mutant as well, but the order raised the danger.
"I will help you join the Order, i think your powers would work well" she said honestly. She glanced back at the door glad Allison was wherever she was. She did not wnat to make this more complex then it needed to be. She decided to hold off contacting Syn or abyss quite yet however.
Amber smiled up at her sister, relieved that she was willing to help her get into The Order. Of course she knew there was danger in doing so, but if her pack were willing to fight then she could hardly do less. She had a power that could do some good in the world so it was only right that she use that power to do so.
"I will make you proud, sister," Amber stated, steel in her voice. "I will make our pack proud." She would willingly give her life before letting down those people who had become her family.
"I have no doubt you will do just as you say. Our people will be safer for it as well" she said with a smile. If Amber wa sin the order then perhapse they could spend much more time together. "the only way you could dissopoint me, Sister, would be by getting yourself killed" she said honestly. It was not that she would wnat amber to abandon a mission over something like death, but to keep the risks in mind. The order was wonderful and beauitful but it's activities also atracted inherent fanger both from humans and those Moronin mansion people.
Amber beamed at her sister, proud that she could finally be a part of something with meaning. "Don't worry, I have no intention of dying anytime soon." She knew the risks involved in what she was preparing to undertake but she also knew she was competent if somewhat new to the game. "I'm trusting you not to get killed as well, you know."
Things resolved, Amber inclined her head and prepared to exit the room. "I look forward to working with you Aura. Truly." Even if their individual tasks were different, their mission was suddenly very much the same.
"The rising water of life, has yet to drown me" she said. She was uncertain how she had lived this long. Her violent life and past as well as the religous beliefs she still clung to, all told her she should be dead by now. Still she was alive and whole. SHe assumed the order would have Amber do some racketeering before anything else, but she really had no idea.
As amber left, Aura considered, Allison's spot on the bed, and woinderd if it was time to bring her into the fold as well. Still doing so had many dangers including either one of them dieing. Weather or not she liked it though, every Mutant had a right to defend them selfs against humanitys onslaught.
