The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ty's game was indeed more controlled. Where Miles was spinning his little plastic players, Ty was merely flicking his wrists, so they were actually making what looked like a kicking motion. His shots weren't near as hard, but he had more control over where the ball went. Ty was in the zone, looking solely at his aerial view of their battlefield, commanding his soldiers to attack and defend.
...Then the little moron scored on himself. "Really..." Ty muttered. "What?" He said louder this time. "Why you little--"
Ty was definitely going to have his retribution now. Some time. But for now, Ty just found a TV to watch--or rather, look at, while Miles tried to coax Syn into the game. When it was his time to move, he'd move. After all, he knew going with Miles would raise suspicion here. Besides, this way made it look like he needed some time to brood over their game. And in a way....he did.
With the game ending in a strange manner Syn smiled at Miles’ creativity with the rules he has set. Kid has potential. Ty’s reaction was to be expected. No one likes when rules they perceive in one way actually can bend in other directions. She had seen people’s faces in similar situations plenty of times. Miles had actually impressed her a little.
Looking up at the boy as he bounced with anxiety like a puppy…again…Syn smiled and got up from the arm chair without Miles’ help. Giving him a pat on his shoulder She shook her head. “Miles my dear boy. You have much to learn still.”
Syn changed her tone to one with more of a directive sound as she addressed the two boys. “So you’ve seen the rec room Ty. Let’s move on to the dining area so may continue our tour.”
His plan, his carefully elaborated, meticulously formulated spark of brilliance got shot down even before it could spread its wings. Syn refused to dance and was far more interested in leaving the rec room and showing Ty around the place just like she had done with him several months ago.
"Aw, come on! Where's your competitive spirit?" He nagged, but the tone in her voice pretty much made it perfectly clear that her decision was final. If only he had her wimpy power of coming up with the right words at the right time and have them make so much sense.
Huh. Why not? She did say he had much to learn and imitation is the basics of all teachings.
As she moved ahead towards the dining room, he shot a glance at Ty and signaled to follow, but he placed himself right next to Syn, just in case a random kick pushed him forward, she would actually notice it. He also tried to distract her and maybe help Ty do his thing with a victim that wasn't paying much attention to the pickpocket.
"I think you should reconsider, my dear Syn..." he said, with a lower tone and a more controlled voice, using words he thought Syn might use if she were in his place. "I'm certain you would find playing a game of Dance Dance Revolution would be most beneficial to you and your future endeavors. I merely wanted to open up the possibility of us... having..."
...Fun? She'd never say that. He drew a blank and left the sentence unfinished, knowing full well she wouldn't change her mind.

Ty had to laugh as he moved from his spot, following the pair. Served the little brat right the 'well thought out' plan blew up in his face. Yep...the one big drawback would be her saying no. And the way he positioned himself...it was like he suspected Ty to do something for revenge.
Smart little brat, anyway...but you can't hide behind her forever...
At this point, he'd forgotten about the video. Miles had enlisted his help, then pulled something like that? And now....the way he was trying to kiss up? Made the redhead sick to his stomach.
Hands tucked into the pockets of his leather jacket, he quietly walked behind them, putting his focus on the surroundings and the building. Besides...dining area meant food. And food was one thing Ty loved. And hey, maybe they'd meet some other mutants soon.
The persistence of Miles was admirable, but if only he’d focus it in other directions like not abandoning a comrade on a potential battle field. Syn kept in mind that he was still learning. He still needed more guidance, but that would have to wait for now.
Miles’ attempt to change his speech warranted a subtle smirk from Syn as she shook her head. “My dearest Miles. I highly doubt playing a video game will benefit any of my future endeavors. As for my competitive spirit you have a long way to go before you can compete with me.”
Looking back to ensure Ty was with them Syn continued to lead the way until they all reached the Sanctuary dining area. Stepping aside the goth princess gestured for Ty to enter and take in the sight and wonderful smells. “Anything you’d like to eat or drink can be provided to you here any time day or night my dear Ty. If you’re hungry now then please feel free to get something to eat.”
Well, playing silly games was a no go, but at least Miles had learnt something about Syn. He'd learnt... that playing silly games was a no go.
Oh, and that she claimed she was competitive. In what? He didn't know and if she claimed he had a long way to compete with her, then it was at something he had no clue about. Accounting? Stamp collecting? Goth fashion? Just... what is it that moved Syn to do what she did? A better question yet... What is it that she actually did?
So far she had only shown interest in one thing: Recruiting people into Sanctuary. She had already said there were no commisions involved though, so she didn't do it for the money. So... if not for the money, then what?
He groaned. Trying to figure out Syn was too much for his teenage brain. He needed to focus on what mattered, which was to get the video. Pickpocketing it was plan 'B' and the riskiest of all, so he needed to patch up plan 'A' and find a way to convince her to surrender the video of her own accord.
Maybe Ty could come up with some ideas. He'd have to talk to him somehow without Syn finding out what they were talking about.
"Hey, Ty! I challenge you to a GAME!" he said, urging him to follow Miles to a table that had several biscuits and muffins on display, hoping the other mutant suspected there was more to the game that met the eye. "If you're hungry, let's see which one of us wins at a muffin eating contest!" he added, then gave a warning to the woman. "You might want to watch from afar Syn, this could get a little gross..."

Ty looked around the dining hall. Now that was a command that Ty would never question. He also had to choke down a few chuckles at Miles being shut down--and hard. That was just too funny for some reason. Then he quirked a brow at Miles at his next challenge.
"I'll have a muffin but....yeah that's a level of competition not even I will stoop to. Eating contests are kinda...silly. As much as I'd love to see you choke. Though I'd be game for a rematch later." Walking over to the basket, he took a muffin in each hand, positioning himself so his back was to Syn.
"Now as far as redeeming myself..." he started, winking at Miles. "We'll need some sort of idea. That doesn't involve us choking." He took a bite of muffin."Or getting that video shown to everybody and their grandmother," he whispered with a mouth full, so it didn't quite come out right. "Can the game stuff for now. You wanna talk? Try again? Oooh! This one's Blueberry! Walk next to me, behind her, but keep your voice low. Got it?" He finished his first muffin, then grabbed another blueberry, before tearing into the one in his right hand.
He'd finished all three rather quickly, then suddenly figured he probably should have taken Miles up on that challenge...Oh well. Letting out a small burp, Ty covered his mouth, then turned back to Syn. "That should tie me over. I'm ready to continue when you are."
Once the boys had gone into the dining area Syn watched them. She heard Miles’ challenge of eating muffins directed at Ty. Was the boy really that desperate to try to beat Ty at something? Maybe he should give up and take his losses instead of stacking them up higher.
Syn grabbed herself a bottle of water and sipped on it while the boys got some food. She was waiting for them to finish eating and looking around so they could move on. In the mean time she wondered how long the little contests between the two males was going to last.
So, apparently Ty had standards and engorging himself on muffins was off the table, but he still headed to the basket away from Syn, which was the whole idea behind the challenge. Miles took a big bite off a rather large muffin as Ty started talking... and whispering at him, suggesting to drop the games and walk together behind her.
Huh... see, there was a little problem with that, which he had purposefully tried to avoid just in case something went wrong. If they ended up walking behind Syn and Ty tried to pickpocket her, there was a chance he could fail and end up pissing the woman off. Miles would then be seen as a partner in crime since he witnessed the whole thing and said nothing. However, if he were dancing or walking next to her and she suddenly felt her phone missing, he could always go "Oh my God TY! HOW COULD YOU!?" and get himself off the hook, claiming innocence and ignorance.
Then again, Miles wasn't sure, but Ty seemed to have an idea of his own. All the boy needed to do was warn him not to screw things up. His mouth however, was busy chewing and Ty was almost done with his blueberry muffin.
He chewed faster. Ty would have won this one handily and Miles would have had to think how to wiggle out of... wiggle out of what? He never mentioned a prize. All Ty would have won was a pat on the back.
The boy finished eating his muffin and it was then that he thought stealing could get them in trouble... but trading should not. But trade what? What could Syn want from them that she'd be willing to trade the video for? It was obvious he had no clue how her brain worked, so they needed to probe her a bit first.
The boy walked next to Ty and managed a whisper before they reached Syn.

Ty walked with Miles, following Syn. Him? Screw things up? Ha! Okay....so maybe that was likely. But still.
"What? You want me to? What do you want me to do, just flirt with her? Kissing butt seems to be your thing, not mine," Ty replied softly, the smile on his face showing he was teasing. "Seriously though, what's that got to do with it? We're trying to get her phone, not take her on a date! Well...I'm not, anyway. There's just something about her..."
Ty sighed, rubbing his temples. Then he smiled. "Maybe you should go chat her up a bit. Get her talking. When she's drawn in, I'll make my move, delete the video, and slip it back into her pocket. But keep. Her. Interested." Then, he paused.
With the boys still huddling close to each other and Miles stuffing his face full of muffins Syn decided to keep the tour moving.
Their next place to check out was the gym. Syn stepped in through the entrance and gestured for the boys to enter and check out the facility. A few other residents were utilizing some of the treadmills and a couple of the weight benches. The dark lady wondered if Miles was going to challenge Ty here as well.
Miles didn't give a fig about racing, but after what Ty had said, he NEEDED to set some things straight! His plan B was more reckless than plan A? Plan 'A' was stealing from the pants of a woman, delete a video without her noticing and putting it back in her pocket while in her home, that she was offering for them to stay and live in! What could possibly be more reckless than THAT!?
Ty's plan B was probably Miles plan Z. The boy still thought trying to trade her for the video was the safest bet, but how can you trade with someone you don't know much about or what she wants or likes? That's what miles wanted Ty to find out but Ty wanted Miles to talk to her and keep her entertained? With WHAT!? She was like... ten years older than him, what could they possibly talk about that would hold her interest? Homework? Pokemon? Pimples!?
Ty had told him to drop the games, but the games were just excuses to whisper to each other safely. The sound of a treadmill running with stomping feet to go along would cover their voices nicely as he tried to tell Ty they needed to find out something she wanted or liked and offer it in exchange for the video.
The boy climbed over an empty treadmill and flicked up the 'on' switch. The rubber band on the bottom started to move and Miles began walking on it without going anywhere. He didn't know how much Ty excercised or if he had ever gone to a full blown fancy gym before, so he actualy went over the controls to explain to Ty how the machine worked.
"This here is the speed control button" he said as he stretched his arm and barely reached a red dot on the control panel, since the treadmills were designed for people much taller than him. Miles managed to press it a couple of times.
Deet deet!
The treadmill started to move faster and Miles trotted to keep up the pace. "See? We can race without moving and the machine counts how much we've run" he said, winking at him with the eye that was frathest away from Syn, trying to let him know running was not the point of the exercise.
Deet deet!
The treadmill moved even faster and Miles began to run. Soon, he'd be breaking a sweat, since the rubber band was spinning pretty close to Miles top speed. He was purposefully stomping his feet as loud as he could so it wouldn't seem odd if they started doing it only when they whispered. The machine was going so fast that Miles no longer could reach the controls.
"We can then see... huff, puff.... who can run the most in a set amount of time... huff..."
Surely, Ty was a team player that would understand the importance of listening to the scheming machinations of an immature fifteen year old?

Ty facepalmed. "Didn't I ask you to cut the crap?" Ty asked, becoming slightly annoyed with the boy's persistence. Or stubbornness. Or stupidity. He knew it was one or a combination of the three.
In truth, Ty found treadmills...pointless. When Ty ran, he was going somewhere, trying to escape the cops, usually. But Miles kept going, even turning it on and showing him the speed controls. Then, he got an evil idea. Maybe this pointless machine could be fun after all.
He saw Miles couldn't get to the controls now, having set the machine probably a little too fast for comfort. Ty walked towards the front of the machine, looking at the buttons. "Okay, so lemme get this straight....this button here speeds the machine up?" he asked, pointing to the same button Miles had pushed to do just that.
Then, with a sly grin, he pressed the button. Then, he pressed it again, and again, raising it to a speed Miles surely couldn't keep up with. Okay, now they were even.
