Mutation. Adaptation. Equality, superiority, and order. Darwin dreams darkly in a world where change outpaces the norm day by day.
The school that Charles Xavier dreamed of as a safe haven has overflowed; now, all students are referred on to Xavier’s Sister School for Gifted Youngsters, a mansion complete with its own team of X-Men who strive to maintain the balance in New York.
Others have sneered at the Mansion’s naive ideals, and gone through the Sanctuary’s Golden Doors to claim their proper title of Homo Superior.
Still others look beyond these petty squabbles to the world’s rotting roots; war, suffering, chaos. At Mondragon Labs Medical, there is a healer who will cure them all.
The Mutant Factions grow in strength and number day by day; their threat and promise hangs heavy over the human world. Homo sapiens have always been the favored child of Adaptation, however. In the minds of a few rare men and women, a force is rising up to silence these challengers to the throne.
Fear and hatred are the lot of all things new. In this volatile world, what will you swear to protect?
Where Will You Stand?
The X-Men
The X-men are an idealistic group of mutants whose goal is to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants and to protect the weak, even if it means facing off against fellow mutants to protect humans that may hate them anyway. They offer a safe shelter and an education to young mutants at Xavier's Sister School.
The Order
The Order is a group of radical mutants who have gathered in an effort to have their voices heard and demands met to gain an uppance in society, by any means necessary. They are led by a mutant and a fiercely vicious woman named Lori who houses the members at the Sanctuary. Join them and find your proper place in the world.
The Kabal
The world is full of distasteful chaos. It seethes with pointless hatred and cruelty. Let the X's and O's bicker like lovers in the streets of New York City; Slate's Kabal will bring the world itself to the worst degree of peace. Current takeover: Romania.

Individual
Character's full name: Twyla Blanch Ashby Alias/ Nickname/ Code name: Wallflower Gender: Female Age: 17 Birthday: December 23rd 1991 Nationality/ Ethnicity: U.S. Citizen--Caucasian Birthplace/ Home/ Place of origin: Rural Wisconsin Appearance
Hair colour and style: She has short, light brown hair that’s just long enough to put in low pigtails with long, side-swept bangs that blend into the hairline. Eyes: Her eyes are large and bright brown. Height: She’s short-ish tall-ish at 5'6. Build: Twyla is a farm girl, so she has work muscles to an extent. (Mostly she’s defined in her arms.) She’s got a medium build and people just looking at her might call her more curvy. Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: The only major scar that she has is on her left knee and she got it in a farm accident when she was pretty little. She has both her ears pierced once, her mother wouldn’t allow more. Other features: Twyla’s nose is slightly wide and slightly upturned. She has ears that don’t stick out, no freckles and medium sized lips with a fuller bottom than top. She has fair skin that takes a while to tan; usually she burns for the first half of summer and then gets brown.
Everyday clothing style: Twyla’s clothing is mostly hand-me-downs from her older sisters. She likes simple and comfy clothes but they aren’t dumpy. She doesn’t wear brand name clothes because they’re more expensive and she doesn’t like them anyway. Jeans are a staple of hers and she tends to drift towards pastel colored tops. An average outfit for Twyla consists of an open cardigan over a tee shirt with a funny saying or over a nice tank top; either combo would be worn with jeans and her well-loved (meaning worn out) green and brown camouflage converse chucks. Sleepwear: An old tee shirt will do with a pair of shorts. Miscellaneous clothing: When she ran away from home Twyla took some of her older brother’s clothing so that she wouldn’t be as easily recognized.
Character
Personality: From living in a rural, tight-knit community all her life she’s been sheltered and large cities are alien to her and make her nervous and she’s very naive. Twyla is generally a friendly person, but she’s not likely to just walk up to someone and start a conversation. She wants to be well liked but at the same time she’s not going to put up with crap from anybody and she feels the need to protect the people she cares about. Her constant worries about other people’s perceptions of her have made her kind of an introvert, but she won’t let others push her around. Basically she’s quiet until she’s comfortable with someone or a group or until she’s angry. She’s also a very plan-oriented person. Even when she’s panicking Twyla’s mind is whirring with possible solutions and a plan to deal with the situation. Basically she’s the person who always has a first-aide kit and granola bars. Hobbies/ Interests: Twyla really likes to read anything she can get her hands on and she’ll play video games with her brothers on occasion. She’s on the dance team at her school and she’s been in gymnastics since she was very small. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: She’s very scared of the dark and she’s slept with a nightlight ever since she was little. She doesn’t have any phobias, her fear of the dark isn’t THAT extreme. She doubts her actions a lot and worries about other people’s perceptions of her. Special talents: Twyla is relatively good at dancing and she’s very flexible from her gymnastics training.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral with tendencies towards good. Since she’s so young and just got into her powers, Twyla hasn’t had much time to think about her position on mutant affairs. She doesn’t really understand what she’s supposed to be doing with herself now that she’s not safely homo saipan She has a set of morals that have guided her for her whole life. She’s a good person, but she’s shook up and a little feral after discovering her ability.
Mutations
Mutation description: Twyla can camouflage her body and anything in close contact with it by making it look like the surrounding area. (EX: If she was standing next to a wall with flowered wallpaper she could take on the flower pattern and match it pretty perfectly.) She’s also experimented with masking herself so that she looks like someone else. This takes a lot of concentration and she has to have a very clear picture of the person and the way that their faces move in order to do this. Strengths: She can match the look of a thing perfectly, especially if it’s a flat surface. She can also hold this coloring/pattern for a very long time once she’s in form (unless it’s a moving object or a person). Weaknesses: This camouflage doesn’t mask her heartbeat or any other noises that she makes. It’s also not physical, if someone touched it they could tell that it wasn’t the same as everything else. She doesn’t change her body shape, just the shadows that make her dimensions visible. (EX: If she was that wall and somebody bumped into her they would defiantly know that she was there.) Also, if she can’t see the pattern or colors of the area she can’t match with it. (EX: She could hide in that room and look perfect as a dark wall, but as soon as the lights go on she wouldn’t be covered in flowers fast enough not to be noticed.) Faction Allegiance Unaffiliated
History Of Your Character: Twyla grew up in a farm in rural Wisconsin in a house that she shared with three older sisters, one older brother, and one younger brother (and parents of course). Her hometown was small and the biggest time of year was always football season. Like stated earlier, Twyla grew up on the family farm and had been doing chores since before she started kindergarten. The farm wasn’t very large, so her family never had much money and she got most of her things from hand-me-downs. She’d always been treated like the baby because she was the youngest girl and her sisters doted on her. She’d always been close with her older brother, Nate who was 2 years older than her and the closest sibling to her age. Mutant affairs were never really a huge deal near her hometown because the mentality ‘it could NEVER happen here’ was generally accepted. Her parents always played it off as being a distant and back burner problem that would never infiltrate their perfect household. So it’s not much of a surprise that Twyla reacted the way she did to her gift. She discovered her powers when she was doing a dare at a party after a football game. The dare was that she had to go into a house that was rumored to be haunted and stay their for 3 hours with no flashlights. Twyla agreed because she felt pressured and during her sentence some football players thought it would be funny to try and scare her. They snuck into the house and made threatening noises as they searched for her. Twyla, already being terrified of the darkness ran into a room and when she heard them come near she desperately focused on being invisible. The jocks came into the room she was hiding in but they couldn’t find her. She couldn’t understand why they didn’t see her until she looked down and noticed that her hands, as well as the rest of her, were covered in the night-time-version of the ornate wallpaper pattern on the wall behind her. The next day Twyla got on a train and left for anywhere but home. Roleplay

Sample RP: The alarm had only rang for a few moments when Twyla turned it off and sat up in her bed. She rubbed her groggy eyes and when she looked down she noted that her body was the same olive color as her sheets and comforter. It wasn’t a dream. She thought. Oh, no. It wasn’t a dream! She started to panic. I’m a freak. I can’t stay here. Mom and Dad....I have to leave before they find out. She bolted out of bed and began pacing around her room. How much money do I have? She rushed to her sock drawer and picked up a wad of bills left over from summer jobs that was stuffed into a tube sock. She riffled though the bills quickly. About four hundred dollars. I could get a bus ticket. A train would be too- A train! Twyla’s grandmother had been planning on taking her on a train trip in the Spring to celebrate her 17th birthday, she pulled out the open-ended ticket from her drawer and placed it on the bed next to the money. Less than an hour later Twyla had her small school backpack and her dance duffle bag filled with everything that she had decided that she’d need. She had even snuck into her brother Nate’s room and taken a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. She felt guilty, but she knew he’d understand. He always did. I’m gonna miss them...She thought as she zipped up her spring jacket. Her eyes welled up, but she held back the tears and focused herself in the mirror. It was surprisingly easy to revert back to her usual self. I HAVE to leave. I’m not going to be a burden to them. She tramped down the stairs and went in search for her older brother. Nate didn’t ask questions, that wasn’t the way he was. He didn’t ask questions as he drove her to the only town within 50 miles that had a train station. She just told him that she needed a ride and he’d given it to her. Twyla had always liked that about Nate, she could depend on him. She didn’t have him drop her off at the station, he wouldn’t have let her go if he knew what she was planning. Instead, she got out of his truck at the local mall. She said she was meeting friends and that she wouldn’t need a ride home. He believed her and drove off. Twyla got to the bus stop just as one was pulling in and she made it to the train station unscathed. The man behind the ticket counter asked “Where to?” when she finally made it to the front of the line. She pushed her ticket through the little window and replied “East. As far East as I can get from here.”
